Game Master Wishlist

Pathfinder Society

I just bumped the thread about who your favorite PFS Game Masters have been. Now how about a wish list of all the GM's tables you haven't had the chance of playing at.

I'll get things started. GM's tables who I'm actively seeking:

1) Kyle Pratt - I'm not quite sure how it's been this long without this happening. For the record, he's played at my table and the world didn't implode, so the converse should be safe for everyone. Right?
2) John Compton - I hope one day that Nani Pratt will introduce me to this legend of a man.
3) Walter Sheppard - I've heard the rumors of this legendary GM spotted in the deep wilderness in the northwest. I searched for his table at PaizoCon this year, but he was not to be found. I think he's a myth.
4) Myron Pauls - Welcome to the mountain oh master of terrain.
5) Joe Caubo - More so because I think he owes me something..
6) Del Collins - After talking with Del at Gen Con this year and hearing him chime in at GM 101, I'm looking forward to the day I make it down to a SCARAB event.
7) Thod - If I ever make it across the pond, this is one of the table's I'll definitely seek out.
8) I'm a forgetting someone.. oh yeah. Mike Brock - I let his 1st level character live at Gen Con 2010. I doubt he'd make the same mistake with mine. I'm willing to bet he'd love the chance to smite my goblin. :D

*Eric Brittain used to be at the top of this list but I cornered him in the corner of a dark bar at Gen Con this year and made him run a game for me. And it. Was. Awesome. Thanks Eric!

Don't exactly have the means to "actively seek" any particular GMs, but I do like the idea of trying out a game under a few of the folks I see on the boards:
• Kyle Baird
• The Pratts
• PFCBG
• Chris Mortika (okay, technically I've played under him once, but it was a full-length module with too little time; fun though it was, an uninhibited/normal session would be nice)
• Other people because I always forget list items when I try to make lists

Also, I guess sooner or later I should play under my new VC... ;)

Kyle Pratt GMed The Cyphermage Dilemma this past spring at MobiCon (in Mobile, AL) and I luckily got a spot at the table. Lot's of fun. He's an excellent GM...and event organizer. :-)

I'm not seeking any particular GMs to play with. Or, to rephrase, I want to experience EVERY GM's unique style of game play.

Silver Crusade

Kyle Baird (Death wish? Don't know *what* you are talking about)

PFCBG (GLITTER PALOOZA OR BUST!)

Mike Brock, because I saw him in action at Kublacon

Dennis Baker (The mind that can create Sewer Dragons? Must play at his table)

The Pratts. Preferably where one GMs and the other is at the table. Hey, a wish list should involve wishful thinking....

Walter Sheppard. Cause I've heard so many good things, they must be true. Or there are bribes, which I am also entirely ok with.

Nosig. Because he seems like an honestly good guy who cares about his players, and that deserves recognition (and making him drive to CA for kublacon. Just sayin...)

Liberty's Edge 5/5

I agree with Craig.

I'd love to come experience many of the GM's from different regions at conventions and such. But unfortunately as I am typically a Tier 1 GM, I don't get the opportunity to play all that often.

After I got my 5th star, I've tried to make a conscious decision to take a slot or two off every convention just to try out new GM's.

Glad to run the table and have you at it!

:-D

Grand Lodge

1 person marked this as a favorite.

My wishlist:

1)Sveden
2)Dave the Barbarian**** (met him last night and he seems like he would be just as fun to have on the other side of the screen)

I think I could learn a lot by sitting at my own table. See things from the outside of my skull. Witness first hand how I communicate and such. Maybe a video recorder is in order.

Grand Lodge

Since it seems I killed this thread, I gathered up some favors and had it raised. Be nice to it while it gets over its two negative levels.

Rather than use names, I just called out some kinds of GMs that I'd look forward to playing under.

Any author that GMs their own scenario -- How freaking cool would this be? I imagine that they'd just be able to run sections of it without reading from a script. They could go into much greater on a moments notice, really flesh out NPCs, stuff like that. Even pause the game occasionally and say "well originally, it was going to be X, but it was cut for Y." Neat-o.

Any GM that brings props -- This tells going into a game just how prepared and committed that GM is. It means that I'll be playing harder, engaging more, and experiencing a scenario (that I've likely already GM'd) from a new, unique, and likely enjoyable perspective.

Any GM without a star yet -- Anyone that steps up and starts giving back to the community deserves to have at least 1 person at their table that is savvy to rules and sits down with the intention of not making the game harder. Doing things like keeping it on track, reeling in the players that are easily distracted, helping with complex rules questions, etc.

Any GM that's better at it than me -- At my age, this just about everyone, but playing under seasoned folks is a rare treat. I learn a lot of new tricks, get inspired, expand my mind-- crap like that. I have a few people in mind, but they should already know of my wants.

It goes without saying that I'd just be happy to play at a table, any table really, but since this is a wishlist, and I'm selfish, I thought I'd share.

I'm kinda poor so I don't go to many Cons. (Of course, I have no real good excuse not to drive an hour to Boise once in a while).

But next PaizoCon I'm going to run a couple slots if at all possible. This last year the surgery made me tired a lot of the time.

Spoiler:
So how I found the inner reserves to drink with Thursty and Dave Gross in the bar though!

In no order at all:

PFCBG
Kyle Baird
Nani
Dragnmoon
Painlord
Andrew Christian
Jim Groves
Dennis Baker

AKA I wanna get out of the Northeast and check out some new GMs :>

I guess I'm a lot like Andrew ... I judge so much that I don't know who I'd want to play on a table with.

Flattering that people want to sit at my table -- come to Iowa anytime :) and I'll run something for you hehe.

I always seem to miss your table though. Ah well....

You were at Brewfest right? I was at the low Tier tables...

wow. never thought to see my name on here.
Thanks Alexander... you made my day. Really.
(and who knows, maybe one day... But CA is a LONG WAY....)

The Exchange

I think everyone?

Anything run by it's author is high on my list.

Kyle is in my state now, so hopefully my first PFS character death comes at his hands :D.

I want to play at tables of nearly everyone listed!

Pratts, Andrew, Kyle, Dragnmoon, PFCBG, Eric, Walter, Mike Brock :D

Silver Crusade

I don't really have a specific list. I'd just like to meet and play at the same tables as some of the people I've talked to on the forums but never met, whether they're players or GMs at the table.

If you plan things well enough, both of these could happen at the same time. ;-)

Scarab Sages 5/5 Venture-Captain, Washington—Spokane

Since I have not been GMing for very long and have not attended any of the major conventions yet, I really don't have a wish list to speak of but I am looking forward to heading to Pullman in December (provided my time off request is approved). I am hoping to get the opportunity to play in a few games there under different GMs and enjoy the opportunity to get better at the role myself.
