I'm considering starting a new PbP campaign, and Kingmaker is on my short list. I was curious though, if anyone that has run it via the PbP format has any advice/warnings for the AP. Because of the exploring/kingdom aspect of the campaign, I can see it being difficult, and I'd like to know up front if there are any big pitfalls to avoid.

The exploration part is central to the first adventure, but can really slow things down in PbP. Make sure to keep the pace moving.
Since you have the luxury of time, no anxious players stacking die, take advantage of the environment, overland movement, and wilderness rules/skills/spells. The suggested starting time for the campaign is February, and the weather is similar to Ukraine, so it's fairly easy to turn the weather itself into a deadly encounter. Traveling through woods with snow on the ground butchers movement, which can make though three days for rations seem awfully meager.
