I couldn't remember off the top of my head. But I'm not an elite military expert.

Oh HELL YEAH!!!

So, Ollie lies to his kid when he has to substitute for John; he'll probably have to do that several times. And he'll be lying to his kid when he has to be the Arrow on Earth-1 for the Crisis.

And Felicity knows Ollie is lying to William as well. The kid can't trust anyone. Sooner or later he'll discover that, and...

Well, I'm not sure what happens after that. If he runs away like a normal kids, Ollie and Felicity will have no trouble finding him. He may be around the right age to start an apprenticeship with the League of Assassins, or Damien Darkh, or whoever, and come back in a couple of years as the nearest thing Ollie has to Damien Wayne...but I don't see much in the way of opportunity for William to contact anyone like that.

I prefer my Superheroes to be better than we are. To by a symbol of hope; of what we should aspire to be. I prefer a character who's core mission statement is to strive for peace. To teach us to love or fellow men, regardless of nation, race, religion, gender, sexual preference, etc. Carrying a lethal weapon (that is pointless due to your bare hands being tougher than any natural metal) goes against that core mission statement.

The other train of thought is: Green arrow should actually use lethal arrows. Batman should carry assault weapons. And Superman should just lobotomize criminals. That way leads to protagonists who are no better than us, who happen to have special powers.

Have you actually read Green Arrow? Especially the Mike Grell run. He's killed and maimed a lot of people with real arrows. Not everything is Saturday morning cartoons.
And about Superman.... everybody can be pushed too far.

Not really a lobotomy, though. Supes didn't actually do what he claimed that he did.

Ollie's situation with William does seem to be paralleling Slade's issues with his son, doesn't it? (Daddy lied to me about his secret life, so I'm gonna go form/join a covert death-squad!)

That said, I still wish William had blown up on Lian Yu. So not interested in this parenting schtick. If they wanted to sideline Oliver for a bit to give Diggle and the others a chance to shine without him, just break his leg or something! :)

All I know is Oliver needs prove to his kid that being the Green Arrow isn't like being Batman.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Except that it's almost exactly like being Batman.

Damon,

Well in the Arrowverse SURE! Comic book Green Arrow has been less Batman broody though.

Either way I expect that kid in a costume by the end of the season. New Speedy AWAY!!!!

Eh. I kind of doubt we'll get another Speedy.

yeah... but who's on any of these shows more than an episode WITHOUT becoming a vigilante and running field missions. That kids just on borrowed time before he gets his own mask.

Besides... we KNOW Ollie won't quit for good, and it'll be something they can bond over ;)

I may be a bad person for this but Kind of hope the kid gets fridged.

In that case, I'm chaotic evil regarding that kid. I want him to mysteriously vanish in a time-travel shenanigan and never be remembered by anyone on the show. (Something I could thank Barry for!)

Sounds more lawful evil to me. maybe neutral evil. yeah NE for sure.
(no he really gets on my nerves. If I found out my dad was a super hero the last thing I would do is guilt trip him into stopping.)

He doesn't yet annoy me as much as Reign's little girl, from Supergirl, who suspects her mom is has superpowers, so runs out into traffic and stuff to endanger herself so that her mom will have to reveal her powers saving her. Oy.

The only thing dumber than the adults in this shows are the kids... :)

agreed

Y'all m&!+$#&$%%~~s are evil.

Yeah. At least set has the whole death god excuse.

I could try and justify it with some complex argument about how the kid is technically evil since he is stopping a good person from saving lives, But that would probably not help my case.

Yeah I'll just shift my alignment now...

>_>

So why couldn't it just be Earth-10 like the comics?

And why is Team Arrow only in their own piece of the crossover again? Seriously, I'd like to see Mr. Terrific with the big kids.

Shh I'm not their yet wait.

I'm guessing the writers didn't figure they needed a super genius. Maybe. I dunno.

Thawne telling Dark Ollie to be 10% less broody was hilarious.

GreenDragon1133 wrote:

Agreed. I mean, I still think of it as Earth-X, 'cuz I'm old. But there is no excuse for redesignating now-Earth-10 back to Earth-X, then say it has no designation, and casually add a 53rd universe to the mix.

(Also, if there are 53 Karas, where's Earth-1, -2, -3, -17 Kara? Did their Kryptons not explode?)

Damon,

I'm guessing when their pods got knocked off course, they landed on Titan.

Well, from what I've seen this won't go over well, but my oldest daughter could. not. stop. squeeing over the prospect of permanent Ollicity after the end of last night's episodes (she's always been a fan of the idea).

Me, I was just waiting to have them to give Cisco some crack about the Star Trek mirror universe... I was disappointed.

Reader,

Too obvious. Plus Cisco was busying trying to bust out in the beginning anyway.

Nowhere. Apostrophes aren't generally used in plurals.

Nazis - plural of 'Nazi'
Nazi's - belonging to a singular Nazi
Nazis' - belonging to many Nazis or Nazis as a whole

Sovereign Court

Thank you. :)

In any case, the only thing I want Nazis for is punching.

So here's something I've been wondering about: Green Arrow and his team have directly worked with ARGUS numerous times and Oliver has been an (unwilling) ARGUS agent since well before he returned to Star City and ARGUS was well aware of Oliver's activities as The Hood and made no effort to stop them.

Couldn't Lilah, as director of ARGUS, call up the FBI director and say "Oliver Queen is one of ours. Drop the case."? (Leaving aside any ethical and legal quandaries involved in government spooks getting special treatment.)

Kal,

No I think the fact they (ARGUS) wants some level of plausible deniability, they probably won't do it.

Ever notice, when Amanda Waller was in charge, only God could countermand her authority. But now that a main character's wife is in charge, ARGUS has less authority than a meter maid?

Waller will outright end a f#@#er.

FBI.

Brainiac.

Yeah Waller doesn't screw around.

I think people were legitimately afraid of Waller.

Can she do that?
I'm not gonna tell her she can't. I have a family to think of!

No one tells Waller what to do. Not even Darkseid.

So CW was late last night. I have five minutes of Supernatural, and missed the end of Arrow. And the website won't let me skip to the end, to see the last minute, I have to watch the previous 41 + five commercial breaks. Can someone fill me in?

Spoiler:
Cayden, Siren, and some other guy are standing there posed. Then Anatoly and Vigilante join them on Siren's side and another guy starts talking and comes alongside the first guy I don't recognize.
And that's where it cut out. Who are they and what did I miss?

** spoiler omitted ** And that's where it cut out. Who are they and what did I miss?

Spoiler:
They discuss how Black Siren put a hidden camera in the Arrowcave during her last break-in, which is how Cayden's been staying ahead of them (knowing about their sabotage of the thingie), and how them all breaking up was part of the master plan. Cayden brags that it's just the beginning of his plan. Anatoly says that Oliver always pushes everyone away in the end anyway. Vince/Vigilante joins in as well, and then someone they call 'Diaz,' played by Kirk Acevedo (whom IMDB is listing as Richard Dragon???), joins up as well.

.
So, Cayden James, Black Siren, Vince/Vigilante, Anatoly and this Richard Dragon/Diaz person. A pretty mundane 'league' of villains, but Team Arrow isn't crawling with super-powered people either...

Spoiler:

Richard Diaz aka "The Dragon", was the drug dealer who was making the drug that Diggle was taking for his tremors. On a side note Felicity did mention that the drug that woke Thea up was a new cutting edge designer drug, not available on the market yet. I wonder if Diaz has a hand in it's creation for whatever nefarious purpose.

Nice little side note Van! :)

I'm so tired of the B team. The fact that one of them betrayed them Is proof that what Oliver did was justified cause he was right in suspecting them. Rene doesn't have the right to say $%^& he put his needs ahead of everyone else. Dana Is sleeping with the enemy so she isn't coming out of this squeaky clean either. Terrific is the only one justified in being upset and hes the one taking it the best. Hes like yeah I still help its just too awkward right now.

How dare you not trust us when we are doing untrustworthy stuff!!

On the one hand, I agree, it's just pointless drama at this point.

On the other hand, they aren't wrong about there being double standards. Felicity sneaks off to work behind the scenes with Helix and busts Cayden James out in the first place and it's all woopsy. Diggle lies about his injury and endangers people in the field because he can't shoot straight and it's 'we can fix this with science!'

One of the B-team has a problem and goes behind the team's back and it's 'We can't trust you! Get out!'

I don't think Rene has a leg to stand on, since Oliver did help him out with his custody issues, and he could have come to Oliver about the threat to his daughter, but Dinah's definitely got a reason to be pissed about the difference between how Diggle got treated and the way she's being treated.

But yeah, still, it's just foolishness. The team's been keeping secrets from each other for no good reason since the first season, and, as in Smallville, they'll continue doing so as long as it results in Three's Company-level misunderstandings and artificial 'drama' to drag storylines out over 20+ episodes.
