So Not so Dragon Disciple?

Homebrew and House Rules

It was brought up in one of these others threads. It was along the lines of refluffing the Dragon Disciple Prestige Class to fit with other Bloodlines. My first thought was to Celestial/Abyssal.

If this was done, how would you go about doing it for the various bloodlines?

Liberty's Edge

I've wanted something like this for a very very long time.

This thread died back in may, but this thread made me think about it, so I'm posting the link here for record's sake.

That said, I did attempt to balance this out a while back (I think I still have the spreadsheet I was working on, too), without any real success to it, since I wasn't sure how best to proceed with transforming Dragon Disciple into a Celestial equivalent and making them as equal in power as I could manage.

It's not easy, and following the 3.5 homebrew rules for it (linked in the old thread) is horribly broken, due to the reasons I pointed out in post #12.

It's mostly fluff stuff.

Claws, I'm not sure with Celestial, but I'm sure I could fluff something out. Breath Weapon doesn't have to be such. Hold your palm out and have holy light come out. I have to go look at the DD anways.

i think smilodan did the celestial in his base class thread. im pretty sure its the only prestige in there so its worth a glance.

I dont see it. My search fu might just be weak. Anymore thoughts on this? I figured that the breath weapon might be called Heavenly Blaze/Unholy Chasm. How about one for the Undead Bloodline? Hmmm.

i still support your idea but..
found it

Slams instead of Claws, maybe?

Might be too strong but why not take the celestial bloodline 1st level power instead of the claws.

I'm currently playing an "Abyssal Disciple" in our Savage Tide play-by-post game.

The GM suggested switching out the Abyssal bloodline powers (Strength of the Abyss and Added Summonings) for the Draconic ones (Breath Weapon and Wings) which is a mixed bag: Strength of the Abyss is awesome, but I'd rather have Wings than Added Summonings.

I think the idea is to keep most of the powers the same, but I don't think anything has been decided about what to do with Dragon Form yet (assuming my PC gets that far, which is not terribly likely).

I'm talking with Smilodan about this and he seems t want the challenge. I'll see what he comes up with and either post them here or have him post them. :D Thanks the for the feedback, I'll keep ya posted!
