I've actually been pestering Mark and folks to change that, to come up with a solution that folks could play an Adventure Path and get PFS credit for it. I mean... we already give credit for reading some novels... it should be possible to do SOMETHING for playing an Adventure Path.
So far, though, we've not yet cracked that nut.

How about a Pathfinder Society Quest? It would be available as a side-quest to a party running through the Adventure Path. Quests aren't a reportable session, which gets around the problem that many (most?) players in a typical AP group aren't PFS-legal (different point builds, race restrictions, etc., etc.).
It could give small in-game XP & treasure awards, and a minor PFS-legal player boon.
This could be tried out with add-on side quests; if the idea is successful you could eventually designate certain sections of an Adventure Path as earning a PFS boon.

I'm not the one you need to convince or pitch ideas to... that's somethign to talk with your venture captains, or more appropriately... with Mike and Mark. Let them know your interests!

I have found that in running 4-01 Rise of the Goblin Guild there has been some useful material in the first installment of the Shattered Star AP to add some depth to GMing 4-01 with NPC and setting information.
It seems to me a logical next step would be take a subset of the encounters/dungeons in this AP to make a couple of sanctioned PFS senerios. This could be something like what was done with We Be Goblins where you have a separate PDF download of instructions and chronical sheets and maybe even some pregens targeted for certain points in the AP. This would be a great way to cross market the AP and PFS (more than what this AP already does so very well).
