Metro happens in Moscow, and has that Russian sensibility which is not for everyone.
Hellgate London is a terrible terrible game. What's Dirty bomb?

I just got my email saying my copy will be shipped. I should have it tomorrow.
I just wanted to start playing at midnight though.
I feel your pain. I went over to Mom's and she checked Amazon. It SHOULD arrive tomorrow sometime. But due to RL stuff, I doubt that I will get to play anytime before 10 or 11 PM.

I think I will go beat up Yang, Deirdre, and the aliens to ease my pain and anguish. ~grumbles ~ Sneak attack me will you? ~starts to build needle jets to begin retribution~
Edit - ~whistles~ WOW!!! I have been playing Sid Meyer's Alpha Centauri for over 15 years?

Free to play class based shooter. I hear it's quite good.
The STALKER series is also Russian based.
I'm sure if you look hard enough you can find more, those are just the ones I thought of off the top of my head.

So I cannot believe I am saying what I am about to say.
Why did they have to make the game live now? The game went live within the last hour. I was super excited about this, until I got to character creation. Its 1AM where I live right now! I DON'T HAVE ENOUGH TIME TO INVEST IN THESE KINDS OF DECISIONS!!!!! I HAVE WORK IN THE MORNING!!!!!!! WHY DID YOU DO THIS TO ME BETHESDA???????!!!!!!!!!!! DAAAAGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I mean, you even made the banter between the male and female protagonist options just that right level of adorable that signifies a happily married couple!!!
Ok, enough ranting. I am going to get some sleep, because the sooner I do that, the faster I can get through the work day, and the quicker I can get to a window for actually running through character creation.

What's the best way to euthanize my computer, so I can justify buying a new one (which will just so happen to meet the system requirements) to my wife? I need a guy who can make it look like an accident...
I'd suggest overclocking it so much that it burns out. Or overwhelming the power supply with stronger electrical current.
Here's a good one. Start updating the firmware on your motherboard and turn the computer off in the middle. Kills it dead.
Or get a neodymium magnet and hold it on the hard drive for a few minutes.

MeanGM, I know, right?

If you have liquid cooling, crack (as in physically break) the hardware so coolant leaks on your motherboard, and say it was a failure in the cooling system.
(I don't actually recommend this, but a coolant leak was why I had to replace a motherboard a year ago or so.)
When someone manages to tear themselves away from playing, care to share what made it onto the in-game playlist?
You mean the music on the radio? Sadly so far the swing/crooner playlist seems to be a lot of repeats from Fallout 3 -- good songs, like "Crazy He Calls Me" by Billie Holliday, but repeats. But I'm not sure if it's all repeats or what the extent of the playlist is, however. I only played a little before I went to work.
There's also a classical music station.

For what it's worth, my computer doesn't even meet the minimum specs (thugh not far off) and the game runs smooth as silk on Low settings. My friend has the same specs and says he can run it on Medium or High with no issues (or a few tweaks), so there's that. The game seems to be pretty damn well optimized.

Songs I've heard so far (that I remember):
Repeats: Bingo Bango Bongo, Anything Goes, One of the love songs I can't recall the name of ATM (it was in New Vegas, I think)
New songs: The Wanderer, Grandma Plays The Numbers, Butcher Pete (Part 2! Which means my life is now complete)

New: Personality, 60 Minute Man
So far, more new than old.
Edit: Atom Bomb Baby, Mr. In-Between, some jazzy number with no lyrics that's new, Rocket 69, and He's a Dog are also all new.

It does appear to snap to a grid, at least when you're building on an existing foundation.
I don't mind getting Power Armor early, since they seem to rely on a limited supply of Fusion Cores to work. Use it all up too fast and you're stuck without it until end-game, or at least that's how it seems now.
Claxon |
You get power armor early, but kind of need it for that fight. You know what I'm talking about. I also noticed the fusion core thing which means I will probably not use it that often, because I haven't found a second one yet but I'm only a little into the game.
I do want to say for anyone playing on PC that might encounter this problem, if your game crashes upon loading the "Please Stand By" screen for the game go to your respective graphics card manufacturer's website and update the latest drivers. Seems like both nVidia and AMD did some last minute software tweaks to run the game.
And for anyone that might be wondering I'm running on an AMD R9 290X and the game it running amazingly well on Ultrahigh graphics setting and is absolutely beautiful. I'm even running on an old AMD Phenom II X4 840 processor, but it doesn't seem to affect game performance very much as opposed to having a new processor.
