You can be a level 1 Fighter and a 1st Tier Mythic. You will be equal in power to a 2nd level character.

I don't mind having Mythic Creatures around Golarion, because they can be of any range, any CR, unlike things like Epic Rules, where you can only be Epic once you go Above 20.

So you could, now with Mythic, craft stories like, Beowolf and Grendel, with something like a Mythic Dire Wolf and a Mythic Barbarian. Sure, it won't fit exactly, but people may recognize it, and think, "That's Bad•••" which is one of the best joys of telling a story.

I myself plan to incorporate Mythic Rules into a custom story I'd like to run at some point that involves, Mythological figures drawing from Norse, Celtic, Greek, and Chinese Mythologies. It would be a campaign possibly going above 20th level, into the very depths of Abaddon to challenge and slay Charon himself. Though his manipulations won't be revealed until the later half of the story.
Keep in mind, that Mythic Rules will be able to start as early as level 1. I know the powers that be want to avoid a Forgotten Realms situation in which demigod-like wizards are lurking around every corner. That's fine, and I certainly don't want that either. I even find Greyhawk to be a bit overpowered, what with your Mordenkainens and Tensers and such.

Because Geb, Tar-Baphon, Baba Yaga, Nex, Arazni, Artokus Kirran, and Kortash Khain would differ on that point. Nex and Tar-Baphon are missing and trapped respectively, but all the rest are very much active in the modern day.

Some of the things they were saying weren't 'official rules' yet. But I got the gist that, typically, Mythic NPCs will be people from ages past. Like people who lived a long time ago, but may still be alive today, will have Mythic powers.

When I open up Inner Sea Magic, it gives a short blurb on each of the major players in the Inner Sea that have access to Magic. They include the characters class and level in that blurb.

Geb: LE male Garundi ghost necromancer 20+
Tar-Baphon: NE male Varisian lich necromancer 20+
Baba-Yaga: NE witch 20+, actual powers and race unknown
Nex: N male Garundi wizard 20+, missing
Arazni: NE female Taldan lich wizard 20+
Artokus Kirran: N male Garundi alchemist 20+
Kortash Khain: CE male ghoul sorcerer 5/cleric 5/mystic theurge 10+

Every single person you mention comes from a time of ages past and are still alive today, in some sort of form, or their fate is unknown. Each person also has a listed level of 20+, meaning they're levels are over 20. This left room for Paizo to publish their answer to Epic Rules, which come via Mythic Rules.

Every person you mentioned, therefore, would qualify as Mythic NPCs according to what was said in the Pod Cast. However, that doesn't explicitly rule out more modern people from achieving Mythic status, but that, as a general rule, NPCs with Mythic Tiers will, typically, be NPCs that hail from ages past, like Tar-Baphon, like the Runelords, like Arazni, like the Jatembe.

A good example of a modern Mythic is Elvanna, the ruler of Irrisen and daughter of Baba-Yaga. Every hundred years, Baba-Yaga returns to Golarion to take the current ruler and her children, with her on her travels through the planes. She then appoints a new ruler of Irrisen, and may elevate that person into the Mythic Realms. So Elvanna is a fairly recent person, who is listed as 20+, which means she's probably the most recent Mythic person on Golarion.

The upcoming AP, Wrath of the Righteous, which will be released next year, will be focused around the Mythic Rules, so there will be more people created in that AP as well.

For more information, I'd have to just say, be patient. I, personally, estimate the Playtest will be out within the next 10 days. The Playtest should have more info at that time.
Generic Villain wrote:Tels wrote:
