Cheddar makes it better.

Currently looking at either a Crusader Cleric of Ketephys (Who better to be a hunter of those who fail their own kind?) or an Oracle of Nature. For helaing purposes, it can be hard to walk away form Oracle of Life, but I think Nature better serves the concepts churning in the back of my head.

I really should be working instead of thinking about this.

Edit: I changed my str from 14 to 16 and wis from 18 to 16, which increased my to hit with my mace to +5 and damage to 1d8+3

Tact-wise, I was going the route of... Stepping into melee for assist, but not excelling at it per se. But in crafting quick utility items, Thallan can buff the others, giving the customized equipment. Letting each further excel in their particular specialization.

In modern terms, he's the department of defense, research and development, etc... Also, as enemy items are recovered, he specializes in identifying, using, replicating, etc...

Was it Mr. Fox in Batman? That trope.

you could go with a 2nd level Elven (natural-werewolf) cleric of Groetus. Crazy? Sure but I could see the character as someone who literally worships the moon, almost a spinoff of some druid sects. Perhaps a worshiper of the darker side of nature. Play a True Neutral. Now that I think about it, I think it might be a *great* concept.
Neat idea. A literal "Lunatic". I like it.

Thanks, I like it too. I think I'll end up writing a character like it for a future campaign. And to everyone else in this recruitment page. The applications are looking good!

The Exchange

Morph: Looks good, I like it.

Hassan: Thanks for the update. Since when were you Vonna! I kinda like her.

Huston: I look forward to seeing it. Please be ready ASAP, because I'm going to pull the trigger soon.

Well, I just got finished typing everything into Word so I could cut'n'paste it over! There's more numbers to crunch for a full character sheet, but everything you asked for is ready.

The Crusader Archetype cost too much for the flavor I was after. A straight Cleric just didn't feel right. A Druid had too many class features that didn't seem to fit, so, I went with the Oracle version. I haven't picked spells, yet, but that's actually fairly easy once you understand WHO is making the choices.

Backstory:
Craes grew up in Varisia. His youth was pretty normal. As he approached the end of his first century, Craes became more interested in the history of his people as a whole, and began actually studying what little information he could find. As should be expected, he eventually found descriptions of the rehabitation, evacuation and destruction of Celwynvian. Craes' still youthful outlook led to him building a great anger over the choice of his ancestors, and he went for a trip into the wilderness to consider this behavior and to see if he could accept that which was already done.

Since he was marked at birth by Ketephys, his community encouraged him to do his thinking in the wilderness instead of in a library, garden, or at home as so many other elves do. By this time, his trips surprised no one anymore. During this trip, Craes watched a bear destroy a termite mound and eat a great number of the insects. He also saw a pack of wolves startle and take down a healthy buck. Nature was reminding him that capable warriors still lose fights for their lives, and that destruction can come from an unexpected direction with a force that you have no immediate understanding of how to resist. He was being reminded that the immediate response serves the immediate purpose. The termite colony, however, was not destroyed, and they rebuilt their mound, increasing the protection given the egg chamber and their queen. The immediate response was not the final response.

No one realized it, but when he made that connection, Craes began his divinely inspired training as an Oracle of Nature. Over the next decades he continued to learn and to gain inspiration from the world itself instead of the other people in his community. He began teaching those around him, o l ages, about the lessons he was learning. He encouraged them to never forget who the elves were, who they are, and who they need to keep being. Craes argued that it is the responsibility of all elves to preserve their history and to reclaim the pieces of their common history which had been lost, even to seek out elves who had forsaken their own and either returning them to the fold or killing the weak.

He put great time and effort into learning what he could, into surrounding himself with as much that was truly elven as he could manage, and into promoting these things amongst the elves he encountered during the wanderings which he had undertaken.

Personality:
Craes is frequently perceived as cold and uncaring. This is because he recognizes the utter heartlessness of nature, and the fact that he and his companions have to beat that heartlessness to survive, let alone thrive. He is just as emotional as anyone else and has as many of the same drives, desires and shortcomings, too.

He has a great passion for his race and their history, and he wants to see them become the best that they can be. He tries to hide his inner fear that he may not actually represent that well enough to be worth his quest to promote the growth and refocusing of his people. Yes, he is on a quest to discover and protect as much of elven history as he can, but this quest is also one of self-discovery, of learning his own capabilities and worth.

Appearance:
Craes' bright green eyes sparkle from beneath his bushy pale yellow brows. His fine, straight hair matches, but looks almost white against the dark, chocolate brown material of his clothing and armor. The strange material of his garments appears to be a woven fabric. The inner layers of clothing are as flexible as any other cloth, but the outer layers of his armor seem to be far stiffer, approaching the toughness of leather, even though the item is clearly made of some sort of fabric. The armor has highlights of hunter green spots at the shoulders, elbows, and forming lines down either side of his torso, both front and back. There might well be more color on the shirt, but the armor hides it.

He has a large blade strapped to his back, set for the brown-stained leather sheath to lift next to the backpack he also wears. The sheath's stain is fairly dark, but it looks light against his armor. It does match the stain on the quivers strapped to either leg and the backpack itself, though. The wood of his bow is almost the same deep, chocolate brown of his clothing and armor.

There is one thing obviously missing from Craes' outfit, though. He's not wearing any footwear.

Function:
Craes sees his primary purpose as promoting and protecting the very essence of being elven. This is complicated by the reality that he's still learning more about what that has meant through the racial history, but he's trying.
His primary role within the party will probably be as support. Healing/buffing others and trying to contribute independently as the situation requires.
Craes serves as a back-up combatant, better with his bow than with his sword, but capable and willing of using either. Both need at least one more feat (Precise Shot and Weapon Finesse) for him to use them WELL. He also serves as a back-up for natural and magical information.

Darkwood MW Composite Longbow 430gp

I typically don't cross gender, but created Vonna for that Ranger slot. Glad you like her. Wherever she lands, gonna take some time perfecting her mannerisms and speech. Cross gender is a bit harder.

Game on!

I also might take a point out of heal and put it into knowledge religion. because that makes sense for my background and it will prove usefull

Couldn't find a better avatar... Surprisingly, Elves are hard to come by... Who knew?

The Exchange

Alrighty guys, thank you all so much for applying! This ended up being more difficult than I had anticipated, due to a number of factors:

1. Applicants ended up being better than I had anticipated
2. I wanted to respect what the members of my existing party are looking for.
3. I'm busy as hell

So, for the results:

@All I want you all to know that no matter what, I'm going to make sure and give this pool of applicants first priority if further openings occur.

@Thallan Mourne (Hassan Amad) and Xenoz (Morphelius)
I want you two to join us in the discussion thread. We will doing running an interview-like scenario with the two of you to decide our final player. I (Kwava), along with any of my existing players who want to participate will be interviewing the two of you before the final decision is made. We will transition into this phase right after our current combat situation.

@The rest of you
Thank you again, and we'll be seeing you around.

Xenoz (Morphelius):
Hey, so a couple of things I want you to do. I need you to make sure that your backstory reflects that
a. You are an elf (urban elf just means you're attuned to the city)
b. You are spectacular enough in some way that the elves of the Shin'Rakorath recognize you and want you to join their organization. This could be through some achievements, something you are popular for being good at, or a special skill that they heard about.
c. I want you to make Xenoz an alias. Let me know if you don't know how to do it. If you click on Vhalas Rhun above, you'll see a format that I like. If you wanna see the format I like best, click on my profile, and open the alias of "Akari" or "Theodric Stavian", and that's the format I like best.

As for your build, I'm a huge fan. Well done!
