P. 352
Under "Senses and Communication", first paragraph, first sentence: change "emphatically" to "empathically"...unless intelligent items communicate with their wielders IN ALL CAPS?

Wamulus wrote:
Snapleaf (p.319) Should be edited to ensure it is a single use item (as I believe it was in RPG Superstar), instead of a 750gp infinite invisibility machine that the omission makes it.

With that price, should the base spell be changed to Vanish instead of Invisibility, giving the item a 5 round Invisibility instead of 5 minutes? It does seem overly powerful for such a cheap price.

Snapleaf is effectively a CL 5 Invisibility potion (500 GP) and a CL 5 feather fall potion (250 GP) rolled into one and activated by an immediate action (necessary for Featherfall to make sense), though you have to drink both at once. I think 750 GP is a reasonable price but it should definitely be a single-use item.

Please review the footnotes on Tables 3-10 and 3-11. The use of Footnote 3 ("Projectile weapons with this ability bestow this power upon their ammunition") and Footnote 7 ("Only thrown ranged weapons can have this special ability") is inconsistent and confusing.

In particular, how do we read ranged weapon properties that have neither Footnote 3 nor Footnote 7 in Table 3-10? If projectile weapons don't confer a property to their ammunition, then by implication, doesn't that mean that "only thrown ranged weapons" can make use of that property?

Some examples:
Designating, Lesser has footnote 3, but Designating, Greater does not. This is clearly an error, but I don't know which version is correct.

In the description, Seeking says "This special ability can only be placed on ranged weapons" (not "ranged weapons and ammunition"), and it specifically calls out arrows in its example. That combination seems to make it clear that Seeking[I] can be applied to bows or crossbows, and there are multiple examples of [I]Seeking bows wielded by NPCs.

However, Seeking[I/] lacks Footnote 3 in Table 3-10, and it appears as an ammunition property in Table 3-11, which implies that [I]Seeking doesn't work if it's placed on projectile weapons. Worse still, it also lacks Footnote 7 in Table 3-10, which means I can legally buy a weapon property that won't actually do anything. That can't be correct.

Pg. 291 - Deck of illusions

This was mentioned in the Core Rulebook errata thread, but I wanted to mention it here, too. Apparently this error has existed since 3.X days, but the deck of illusions has two entries for the five of cups tarot card, producing a kobold and a goblin.

Also, and this probably isn't an error but I thought I'd point it out, the two of pentacles is the only tarot card that is used by both the deck of illusions as well as the deck of many things. The fact that it's the only one maybe suggests it should have been a different card, unless of course even though each deck didn't have any duplicate cards except for this one it's a complete coincidence. If a GM wanted to replace one of them (like if the party had a deck of each and the GM wanted ALL of the cards to be unique from one another), I'd recommend changing the deck of illusion. Since that card creates an illusion in the form of the deck's owner, perhaps the VI. Lover card.

I know it has been mentioned before but the Ring of the Sea Strider still has the word contagious in the description of the item int the PRD. D20pfsd site has made the change to contiguous. It has been a couple of years now so it ought to have been changed by now.

The PRD never changes until an official errata is made for the product. Since Ultimate Equipment hasn't had an errata yet, the PRD is "locked" until then.

Pg. 50 - Elysian bronze

It probably goes without saying that it is, but this material should mention if it's always considered masterwork or not.

In addition, it would be nice to know if only metal weapons can be made from it, or if it really does have no usage restriction. (IE can you make a Elysian Bronze Quarterstaff?)

Grand Lodge

Pg. 84 - Rabbit

Not a big deal, but wanted to let everyone know we have two options for rabbit stats now. The rabbit's description says to use the statistics for a rat, however a new creature in Bestiary 4, the pooka, can transform into a rabbit but it says to use the stats for a raccoon, which are found on page 113 of Bestiary 3.

Here's a question that's been bothering me for quite some time....

The Scimitar has been, back to the days of Pathfinder's 1970s ancestors, one of the more popular weapons.

The Scimitar is the Favored Weapon for the religion of Sarenrae, which is one of the most common religions (at least in terms of play, if not canon) in the Pathfinder settings.

It is similarly one of the most popular weapons for Druids.

So, WHY isn't it on the random weapon determination table of the UEG? Even the table errata below (from earlier in this thread) skips it...

66 sai
67 sap
68-69 scythe
70-73 shortbow
74-75 shortspear
76-80 shortsword
81 shuriken
82 sickle
83–84 sling

Seriously? Sai, saps, and shuriken are more common than a Scimitar? It should be at least as common as the sling, if not one of the 3 "short" weapons. ESPECIALLY on a table meant for generating magical treasure - or do druids and the Church of Sarenrae eschew the use of magical weapons?

I know you can stick it in with the result of "other" items, but most GMs I know tend to "feed the warrior types" with that kind of result, leaving the divine spellcasters out to dry.

(Rant mode off)

Grand Lodge

Pg. 16 - Weapons

Second paragraph, last sentence; change "If this second attack roll exceeds the target’s AC" to "If this second attack roll equals or exceeds the target’s AC".

Emphasis mine.

Dark Archive

p. 170 RING OF ENERGY RESISTANCE

all three rings minor, major and greater all seem to have CL of 11

in Core Rulebook the CL varies 3,7 and 11 respectively.

Was this change intentional or a mistake?

P.238 Glyphbane Gloves

Construction requirements include italicized 'detect traps'. However (probably due to poor searching skills on my part), I can't find a spell 'detect traps'. Should this instead be the spell 'find traps', or maybe the class feature Trapfinding?

p. 269 Treeform Cloak

Construction requirements include italicized 'tree form', though I cannot find that spell. This should probably be the spell 'tree shape'.

p. 270 Bracelet of Bargaining

Construction requirements include italicized 'detect lie', though I cannot find that spell. This should probably be the spell 'discern lies'. The item is CL 7th, and this spell would require a caster to be at least level 7.

Did a search with my own homemade spell index. No such spell as detect traps. You're probably right, it should be find traps.

Same here.

And here, as well.

Additional Magic Items

For those of you who follow these errata threads to update your books, below is a listing of all magic items that didn't make it into Ultimate Equipment (most likely due to space constraints). {. . .}

Greater Medium Slotless Item
Purifying pearl - 19,000 gp (Advanced Race Guide 48)
Lambent window - 20,000 gp (Advanced Race Guide 112)
Trapmaker's sack - 20,000 gp (Advanced Race Guide 137)

I stumbled upon an error for Lambent window, and couldn't find an Advanced Race Guide errata thread, so here this goes. I am also not sure whether this is just a problem in the PRD or an actual error in the Advanced Race Guide itself, but it appears in both the PRD entry and the d20pfrsd.com entry, so chances seem good that this error is in the actual Advanced Race Guide.

part of the PRD entry for Lambent window (with enlarged bolding mine) wrote:

This small pane of glass in a frame made of black metal looks like a small hand mirror at first glance, but when a creature spends at least 1 minute staring into its reflection, the image shifts and changes, showing the landscape of another plane. If the lambent window is activated on the Material Plane, it shows the corresponding location on the Shadow Plane, along with any creatures at that location. Likewise, when used on the Shadow Plane, it shows the corresponding location on the Material Plane. This item only allows those staring into it to see the corresponding location on the other plane; they cannot hear through or gain other sensual information about the other side by way of the window. This effect can be used for up to 10 minutes per day. Those minutes need not be consecutive, and the 1 minute it takes to activate the lambent window does not count against this limit.

It's a relief to know that people can't actually engage in foreplay through the Lambent window . . . .

Grand Lodge

Hehe. Not so much an error, since one definition of sensual is:

"5) of or pertaining to the senses or physical sensation; sensory."

Oh, and just so you know, the advanced race guide errata thread is here.

Scarab Sages

Table 2-13 on page 99 lists:
Inn Stay (poor) - 2gp
Inn Stay (common) - 5sp
Inn Stay (good) - 2gp

I assume that Inn Stay (poor) should be 2sp, not 2gp.

Bit of a necro but haven't seen it mentioned anywhere after

Quote:

Impervious (armor)

Price +1 bonus; Aura moderate transmutation; CL 7th; Weight —

A shield or suit of armor with this special ability is especially hardy. It gains double its enhancement bonus to hardness and hit points (instead of just the enhancement bonus), its break DC increases by double its enhancement bonus, and it gains a bonus on saving throws against direct attacks (such as a rust monster's rust ability) equal to its enhancement bonus.

The standard rules for magic items hardness + hit points is:

Magic Armor, Shields, and Weapons: Each +1 of enhancement bonus adds 2 to the hardness of armor, a weapon, or a shield, and +10 to the item's hit points.

The impervious weapon quality states that the weapon "gains double the normal bonus to its hardness and hit points for each point of its enhancement bonus."

Shouldn't the impervious armor have similar language to the impervious weapon about doubling the normal bonus to hardness and hit points. As written now, the impervious armor doesn't affect the hardness since its text is assuming normal magic items gain bonus to hardness at a reduced rate.

Posting in here is never a necro. This should always be the thread people use to report errors since it's a one-stop-shop for the editors when they're releasing official errata.

Grand Lodge

Pg. 36 - Scorpion Whip

The scorpion whip got some errata in the form of a FAQ update for Ultimate Combat. This update applies to UE, too. You can find it here.

Definitely a little sad that in three years we still haven't gotten an official errata, but I suppose a book with this much crunch isn't going to get edited overnight. Then again, since this book is also a compilation, any items (Like scorpion whip) that get updated from other core books also need to be updated for UE, which makes twice the work.

Paizo only publishes errata when a book is reprinted. As long as the first printing is in stock, we don't typically get errata.

DM Sothal wrote:

I realize that. It means the book has sold poorly in three years.

For no apparent reason the Belt of Physical Perfection +6 and the Headband of Mental Superiority +6 have a crafting cost 5,000 GP too high. Their purchase price is 144,000 but their crafting cost is 77,000. 2x77,000 is 154,000. The +2 and +4 versions don't have this issue and nothing else related has this issue and nothing I can find explains the difference in setting, so I'm assuming it's a math error.

No doubt because of the insane number of errors?

Grand Lodge

Advanced Race Guide got an errata recently, and a handful of the changes made in that book are relevant to the items UE reprinted from it. Make the following changes to UE in light of the new printing of ARG:

ARG 2nd printing changes::

Pg. 52: Replace the description of the wyroot material to the following:
"The root of the wyrwood tree has a peculiar quality. When a weapon constructed of wyroot confirms a critical hit, it absorbs some of the life force of the creature hit. The creature hit is unharmed and the wyroot weapon gains 1 life point. As a swift action, a wielder with a ki pool or an arcane pool can absorb 1 life point from the wyrwood weapon and convert it into either 1 ki point or 1 arcane pool point. A wyroot weapon can gain at most 1 life point per day and hold up to 1 life point at a time. More powerful wyroot weapons can gain up to 3 life points at a time. Any unspent life points dissipate at dusk. A creature can convert life points from only one wyroot weapon per day.
Wyroot can be used to construct any melee weapon made entirely of wood or with a wooden haft. Constructing a weapon that can hold 1 life point increases the cost by 1,000 gp, constructing one that can hold up to 2 life points increases the cost by 2,000 gp, and constructing one that can hold up to 3 life points increases the cost by 4,000 gp."

Pg. 228: For the boots of escape, add "dimension door" to the list of construction requirements.

Pg. 235: The gauntlets of skill at arms (pg. 273) have been correctly reclassified as hand slot items. On Table 5-7: Hand Slot Wondrous Items, add the gauntlets of skill at arms to the Lesser Major Hand Item sub-table with a price of 30,302 gp.

Pg. 241: In Table 5-8: Head Slot Wondrous Items, delete the mask of stony demeanor from the Lesser Minor Head Item sub-table and instead move it to the Lesser Medium Head Item sub-table with a new price of 8,000 gp.

Pg. 246: For the mask of stony demeanor, change the price from "500 gp" to "8,000 gp". Also, change the cost from "250 gp" to "4,000 gp".

Pg. 271: In Table 5-12: Wrists Slot Wondrous Items, in the Lesser Major Wrists Item sub-table, delete the gauntlets of skill at arms.

Pg. 273: Make the following changes to the gauntlets of skill at arms:
-> Relocate the item to the section in the book detailing hands slot wondrous items, starting on page 234, as it is now a hands-slot wondrous item.
-> Change the price to "30,302 gp".
-> In the last sentence, change "gloves" to "gauntlets".
-> Change the cost to "15,302 gp".
-> In the construction requirements, delete "Craft Wondrous Item".

Grand Lodge

Pg. 246 - Mask of stony demeanor

When I was making my post above, I noticed something additionally wrong with this item that is unique to UE and not in the ARG.

In the construction requirements, change "Craft Rod" to "Craft Wondrous Item".

p. 262

Charlatan's Cape

Caster level is listed as 3rd and Aura is listed as faint evocation and illusion.

Looks like it should be CL 13 and Aura of strong conjuration and transmutation.

Grand Lodge

Ultimate Combat got an errata update, and it affects a few things in Ultimate Equipment:

Pg. 9
- In Table 1-1: Armor and Shields, in medium armor, change the price of kikko armor from "30 gp" to "250 gp".
- In Table 1-1: Armor and Shields, in medium armor, change the price of four-mirror armor from "45 gp" to "125 gp".

Pg. 20
- In Table 1-6: Exotic Weapons, in light melee weapons, change the damage of the Aklys from "1d6" to "1d4" for Small versions, and from "1d8" to "1d6" for Medium versions.
- In Table 1-6: Exotic Weapons, in two-handed melee weapons, change the double walking stick katana's damage from "1d4/1d4" to "1d4" for Small versions and from "1d6/1d6" to "1d6" for Medium versions. Also change the crit value from "x3" to "19-20/x2", change the type from "B" to "S", and delete "double" from the special column.

Pg. 26
- In the description of the double walking stick katana, add the following sentence before the last sentence:
"When drawn, the blades use the statistics listed on the table on page 20."

Pg. 42
- In the Loading a Firearm section from the previous page, in the paragraph about advanced firearms, add the following sentence to the end:
"The Rapid Reload feat reduces this to a free action."

Pg. 44
- In the description for the double-barreled musket, change the first sentence to read as follows:
"This musket has two parallel barrels; each barrel can be shot independently as separate attacks, or both can be fired at once as a standard action (the attack action)."

Pg. 45
- In the description for the double-barreled pistol, change the first sentence to read as follows:
"This pistol has two parallel barrels; each barrel can be shot independently as separate attacks, or both can be fired at once as a standard action (the attack action)."
- In the description for the double-barreled shotgun, change the first sentence to read as follows:
"Each barrel of this twin-barreled shotgun can be shot independently as separate attacks, or both can be fired at once as a standard action (the attack action)."

Pg. 47
- In the Thrown weapon group, add "sibat" between "shuriken" and "sling".

Pg. 53
- In the description of the gold material, in the last paragraph, change the third sentence to read as follows:
"Gold armor has hardness 5 and the fragile quality."
- In the description of the stone material, change the third paragraph to read as follows:
"Light and one-handed bludgeoning weapons, spears, axes, daggers, and arrowheads can all be made of stone."

Ultimate Equipment, pg. 372, Table 7-19, Uncommon potion or oil:

- 01-12 Burrow (...)
- 11-22 Countless eyes (...)

Those d% ranges are overlapping. Maybe 01-11, 12-22?

Pg. ?? - Keros oil

I don't have the book in front of me, so no page number, but I do know this item is listed in the alchemical weapons section. This is more a request for clarification than anything, but its description says it can be used more quickly with the Rapid Reload feat. It doesn't specify if simply having Rapid Reload works or you specifically need Rapid Reload (keros oil). Reading it back to myself I'm sure the latter's the case, it just seems like a very narrow feat choice (but is probably great for fire-eating circus performers).

Since I know you can't edit your post, it's pg. 108.

I searched this thread but didn't find anything relating to it.

I've only ever looked at this on the website, so I don't have page numbers.

The entry on coffee on the food&drink page seems to have some confusing numbers.

Cut from the page: wrote:

COFFEE
Price 1 cP; Weight 1/2 lb.
This drink is brewed by pouring boiling water through crushed, roasted coffee beans. Two cups is potent enough to reduce the penalties from the fatigued condition from –2 to –1 for 1 hour.
Brewing your own coffee requires ground coffee beans (5 cp for 1 pound of coffee beans, or 8 cp for 1 pound of ground beans) and a cooking device. You can boil the grounds in a pot, then pour the liquid after allowing the solids to settle, or filter the drink by pouring it through a sieve or cloth. Many travelers prefer the convenience of using a coffee pot (see page 62).

If it's 1cp for 1/2lb of coffee in the first line, why is it 5 cp for 1 lb of coffee further on in the description? And a half-again-uptick for having it ground? Ok, that's not a serious kvetch, tho I'd make it less. Either way, the numbers aren't working out.

(and you know I spent years as a proof-reader when I made an account *just* to post this.)

Ultimate Equipment Report - Post Errata
Hidden corrections and missed errata

Hello everyone! Ultimate Equipment got a well-deserved 2nd printing, and as such an errata document was released so print-copy owners could update their copies with the latest fixes. For once, I actually own the PDF AND the dead-tree version of this book, so I'm going to change up my normal "report of over-looked errata" post by also adding in a "hidden corrections" part, that details fixes that were made between printings, but for one reason or another were left out of the errata document. Enjoy!

HIDDEN ERRATA:
As mentioned above, these are fixes that were made between the first and second printing, but for whatever reason weren't included in the errata document. For the sake of brevity and sanity, I will not include changes to typographical errors, nor will I include wording changes where the intent was obvious (such as changing "total defense" to "full defense" or "helm slot" to "head slot"). I also won't include the moving of various items to different parts of a table simply because their prices changed (for example, the plague mask had its price changed, moving it from the list of greater medium head items to greater minor head items instead).

* Pg. 12 - Lamellar armor now mentions that it comes with gauntlets. What's noteworthy about this is that it's said as a blanket statement to all types of lamellar, whereas the piecemeal armor rules in Ultimate Combat only mention that steel lamellar includes these.
* Pg. 13 - O-yoroi armor now mentions it includes gauntlets, matching the wording in the piecemeal armor rules in Ultimate Combat.
* Pg. 14 - Tatami-do armor now mentions it includes gauntlets, matching the wording in the piecemeal armor rules in Ultimate Combat.
* Pg. 16 - Weapons, 2nd paragraph, last sentence, change "exceeds" to "equals or exceeds".
* Pg. 21 - Two-handed melee weapons table, kyoketsu shoge, damage type, change "S or P" to "B, S, or P".
* Pg. 31 - Kusarigama now mentions that the sickle end deals the higher damage value while the chain deals the lower.
* Pg. 43 - Table 1-10: Firearms, dragon pistol, change the ranged entry for this weapon from "20" to "special".
* Pg. 44 - The double hackbut now mentions what it uses as ordnance. It fires bullets and requires 6 doses of black powder.
* Pg. 57 - Table 2-1: Adventuring Gear (cont.), gunslinger's kit now includes a superscript of 2.
* Pg. 76 - Alchemy crafting kit's weight changed from "50 lbs." to "5 lbs." (although interestingly the table on the next page did not update the weight).
* Pg. 81 - Table 2-4: Guard and Hunting Animals; both axe beak and cat, small had their names corrected to "Axe beak (combat trained)" and "Cat, hunting", respectively.
* Pg. 89 - Both furs and the hot weather outfit list the bonuses they grant as circumstance bonuses instead of untyped bonuses.
* Pg. 106 - Introductory paragraph to alchemical weapons, last sentence now correctly says that the craft DC for these items are found in their description rather than on table 2-16.
* Pg. 110 - Crafting Poison, first paragraph, last sentence, change "applying poison" to "crafting poison".
* Pg. 111 - Table 2-17: Poisons, both belladonna and hemlock now have an asterisk with a footnote at the end of the table saying to look in the Core Rulebook for additional information about them.
* Pg. 120 - Table 3-4: Shield Special Abilities, +3 shield special ability section, wild special ability now updated to have its d% range include the results of 99 and 100.
* Pg. 127 - Giant-hide armor now appropriately mentions you take the form of the giant instead of just growing to match its height.
* Pg. 137 - Table 3-8: Melee Weapon Special Abilities (cont.), +2 weapon special abilities, impact had it's superscript changed from "3" to "4".
* Pg. 139 - Table 3-10: Ranged Weapon Special Abilities, +3 or +4 weapon special ability section, designating, greater now includes a superscript of "3".
* Pg. 157 - Luck blade header, change "4 wishes" to "3 wishes".
* Pg. 166 - Dungeon ring, construction requirements, cost header changed from "6,000 gp" to "varies".
* Pg. 180 - Rod of balance, aura entry changed from "faint abjuration" to "faint abjuration and transmutation".
* Pg. 208 - Belt Slot Wondrous Items intro, 1st sentence, "scabbards" removed from list of items that are typically belt slot wondrous items.
* Pg. 210 - Belt of physical perfection, cost of the +6 variant changed from "77,000 gp" to "72,000 gp".
* Pg. 212 - Gorgon belt updated to clarify that the saving bonus for its effect is a Fortitude save.
* Pg. 213 - Serpent belt updated to clarify that the "+4 bonus to poisons" is a bonus to saves against them.
* Pg. 225 - Goggles of elvenkind, construction requirements now include "creator must be an elf".
* Pg. 238 - Glyphbane gloves, construction requirements, change "detect traps" to "find traps".
* Pg. 260 - Necklace of netted stars, first paragraph, last sentence, delete the mention of 0-level spells.
* Pgs. 270 & 271 - Bracelet of second chances, 2nd sentence, change "critical hit" to "critical hit or sneak attack".
* Pg. 274 - Shackles of compliance, delete the last sentence as it is redundant.
* Pg. 278 - Table 5-13: Slotless Wondrous Items (cont.), greater minor slotless items section, d% range for the horn of goodness/evil changed from "78-79" to just "79".
* Pg. 297 - 1) Far-reaching sight updated to say that a firearm can only have one sight attached at a time. 2) Feather token, whip updated to say that the CMD for the whip is 25.
* Pg. 300 - Goblin skull bomb, last sentence, remove mention of mage hand since that spell can't move magic items.
* Pg. 310 - Maul of the titans, change cost to "12,805 gp".
* Pg. 319 - Seeker's sight updated to say that a firearm can only have one sight attached at a time.
* Pg. 365 - Table 7-7: Type E Treasure (and including tables 7-8, 7-9, 7-10, and 7-11 on the following pages), change all references to page 116 to page 117.
* Pg. 374 - Table 7-25: 3rd-level Arcane Scrolls, Uncommon scroll section, change "beast shape" at the 09-12 d% range to "blood biography".
* Pg. 388 - Table 7-50: Random Gems, azurite d% range changed to "15-20".

POSSIBLY MISSED ERRATA:
This section includes errors that the community noticed that seem to be valid, but didn't make it into the 2nd printing. As before I'll leave out typographical errors.

* Pgs. 9 & 10 - Agile half-plate is heavier than its non-agile counterpart, whereas agile breastplate is lighter than its counterpart.
* Pg. 15 - Table 1-3: Donning Armor was directly copied from the Core Rulebook and as such leaves out most of the armor's mentioned in this book.
* Pg. 22 - Trip weapon property description leaves out the update to it delivered by Sean K. Reynolds in a blog post, saying that a wielder may apply the weapon's bonuses to the roll not only for tripping, but also when attempting a drag or reposition combat maneuver.
* Pg. 26 - Dan bong grants a +2 bonus to CMB checks to grapple, but doesn't mention if this supercedes the -4 penalty a character would take for not having both hands free, or stacks with it for a net penalty of -2. {//Personally, I feel the grapple weapon property should have text in it that says using a grapple weapon to grapple negates the -4 penalty}
* Pg. 28 - Gauntlet, 4th sentence says medium and heavy armors include gauntlets (except breastplates), but technically neither should hide armor, since it isn't mentioned as having gaunlets in the Core Rulebook, Ultimate Equipment, or the Beginner's Box.
* Pg. 33 - My routine copy-paste about nets:
1) According to a feat in Ultimate Combat, specifically Net and Trident, nets are two-handed thrown weapons. Before this, there was no mention of the number of hands required to use a net in the Core Rulebook or, by extension, this book.

2) However, on page 202 of the Core Rulebook, a character has always been able to throw a net in one hand as a ranged attack, but only when the other hand is also throwing a weapon, a la two-weapon fighting rules.
* Pg. 38 - Swordbreaker dagger, last sentence says it grants a +4 bonus on combat maneuver chcks to disarm, but it's uncertain if this includes the +2 bonus the disarm property the weapon has grants, or if they stack to make a +6 bonus.
* Pg. 42 - Alchemical cartridge; based on the wording, it's uncertain if whether or not alchemical cartridges can take the place of a metal cartridge, ergo being usable with an advanced firearm.
* Pg. 43 - Table 1-10: Firearms, Two-handed ranged weapons (early firearms), change the range on the double-barreled musket from "10 ft." to "40 ft.", as per the recent errata to Ultimate Combat.
* Pgs. 56 & 58 - Table 2-1: Adventuring Gear; the astrolabe has a 1,000 gp price tag, but it's unclear if this is an update or an error, as previous books that list this item have it at a 100 gp price tag.
* Pgs. 57 & 71 - Table 2-1: Adventuring Gear (cont.); the shaving kit's table entry differs in price than it's description on page 71. Here it's listed at "15 sp" whereas on page 71 it's "15 gp".
* Pg. 59 - Bard's kit, add a spell component pouch.
* Pg. 69 - Oracle's kit, add a spell component pouch.
* Pg. 73 - Summoner's kit, add a spell component pouch.
* Pg. 77 - Table 2-2: Tools and Skill Kits; as mentioned in the hidden errata section above, the alchemy crafting kit's weight was changed from 50 ft. to 5 ft. in its description, but in this table it still says 50 ft.
* Pgs. 81 & 82 - Table 2-5: Farm and Work Animals, chicken is listed with a 1 gp price tag, but according to the section on trade goods, its only 2 cp.
* Pg. 84 - Rabbit, last sentence says rabbits have the same statistics as rats, but in Bestiary 4 a creature known as a pooka has the ability to transform into a rabbit, which says to use the stats for a raccoon.
* Pg. 85 - Squirrel, first paragraph, last sentence says squirrels have the same statistics as rats, which is fine if using only core books, but as of Player Companion: Animal Archive, squirrels have their own stat blocks.
* Pg. 86 - 1) Carriage, it's possible this mode of transportation is a recreation of the coach cab from the Core Rulebook. If that's the case, it should mention it costs 3 cp per mile to ride in, but only 1 cp when traveling within the boundaries of a town. 2) Galley has a 30,000 gp price tag, but in Ultimate Combat it has a 10,000 gp price tag.
* Pg. 87 - Table 2-8: Transport, as mentioned above, Galley has a 30,000 gp price tag but only a 10,000 gp price tag in Ultimate Combat.
* Pgs. 95 & 96 - Orc trail rations are 1 gp cheaper than all other racial trail rations.
* Pg. 107 - Holy water should maybe mention somewhere in its description that unholy water also exists.
* Pg. 131 - Celestial shield, CL for this item is 7th, but overland flight can't be cast until 9th level.
* Pg. 133 - Zombie skin shield, aura says moderate abjuration, but it seems pretty evident that it should be moderate necromancy instead.
* Pg. 147 - Seeking special ability, first sentence, change "ranged weapons" to "ranged weapons and ammunition".
* Pg. 162 - Sword of subtlety, grants a +4 bonus on its wielder's attack and damage rolls when sneak attacking, but it's unclear if this includes the +1 enhancement bonus it has already, or if it stacks with it.
* Pg. 170 - Ring of energy resistance lists a CL of 11th, but in the Core Rulebook it lists several CLs to account for its Minor, Major, and Greater variants, specifically 3rd, 7th, and 11th, respectively.
* Pg. 173 - Ring of shooting stars, table within the item's description, for 1 lightning ball, change the damage from "2d6" to "4d6".
* Pg. 174 - Ring of shooting stars (cont.), construction requirements, there is some that think ball lightning should be able to be a substitute for lightning bolt when making this item.
* Pg. 176 - Not really an error as it is speculation, but when a community thinks something should cost more money, it's worth mentioning. Many in the community feel the ring of the sea strider is underpriced.
* Pg. 180 - Table 4-5: Metamagic Rods (+3 Spell Level) mentions Widen Spell rod, which doesn't seem to exist. If it did, it'd probably have the following stats:

Strife2002 wrote:

Widen Metamagic Rod . PRICE: Varies

Lesser widen metamagic rod . 14,000 GP
Widen metamagic rod . 54,000 GP
Greater widen metamagic rod . 121,500 GP
AURA strong (no school) CL 17th WEIGHT 5 lbs.

The wielder can widen up to three spells per day as though using the Widen Spell feat.

CONSTRUCTION REQUIREMENTS: COST varies
Lesser widen metamagic rod 7,000 GP
Widen metamagic rod 27,000 GP
Greater widen metamagic rod 60,750 GP
Craft Rod, Widen Spell

* Pgs. 193-200 & 202 - Table 4-6: Staves and descriptions, change the price of the staff of fire to "18,932 gp" (cost: 9,466 gp), the staff of size alteration to "26,150 gp" (cost: 13,066 gp), and the staff of frost to "41,332 gp" (cost: 20,666 gp). Additionally, the various spell-school staves are also technically priced incorrectly, but these seem to get a pass since they'd differ from one another, and uniformity was apparently important when these were first printed in the Core Rulebook, and since they're legacy items. Still, if a GM wanted to price these staves according to what it would actually cost to make one (in case a player notices and argues that they could make one cheaper, or sell one for more money), you can change them to the following:

abjuration PRICE 81,900 gp / COST 40,950 gp
conjuration PRICE 81,900 gp / COST 40,950 gp
divination PRICE 86,006 gp / COST 45,116 gp
enchantment PRICE 81,900 gp / COST 40,950 gp
evocation PRICE 81,900 gp / COST 40,950 gp
illusion PRICE 81,900 gp / COST 40,950 gp
necromancy PRICE 90,233 gp / COST 49,283 gp
transmutation PRICE 84,500 gp / COST 42,250 gp

* Pg. 208 - Belt of dwarvenkind doesn't mention if its enhancement bonus is temporary until after worn for 24 hours, like most items like this do.
* Pgs. 209, 211, 220, and 221 - It's weird that the beneficial bandolier is a belt slot item while the endless bandolier is a chest slot item.
* Pg. 251 - Headand of mental superiority, change cost of the +6 variant from "77,000 gp" to "72,000 gp".
* Pg. 259 - Necklace of adaptation, construction requirements, there are some in the community that feel life bubble would be an appropriate spell to substitute alter self when creating this item.
* Pg. 262 - Catching cape, construction requirements, there are some in the community that feel entropic shield would be an appropriate substitute spell for shield when creating this item.
* Pg. 270 - Wrist Slot Wondrous Item introduction, first paragraph, delete "gauntlets".
* Pg. 273 - High elven bracers (formerly gauntlets of skill at arms); this item has gotten interesting. It first appeared in Advanced Race Guide under its old name, and was also a wrist slot item in that book. Later, the ARG errata updated it to a hand-slot item, and made various changes to it to reflect that (since gauntlets are hand-slot items). Ultimate Equipment however, due to how it lists its items, needed it to be stuck as a wrist-slot item since it couldn't have it jump to another page, and so they renamed it "high elven bracers" and made changes to it to reflect that, keeping it as a wrist slot item. This isn't really a bad thing, though, as essentially an entirely new item was born, and so now we have both "gauntlets of skill at arms" in the ARG, and "high elven bracers" in UE; essentially two items that do the same thing, but take up two different slots allowing a character to achieve the same goal in different ways. One thing worth mentioning though is that the high elven bracers kept the construction requirement of Craft Magic Arms and Armor, but this seems out of place since they're bracers now.
* Pg. 291 - Deck of illusions has two results for the Five of Cups, goblin and kobold.
* Pg. 345 - Crown of blindness, intended magic items, add "(Advanced Player's Guide)" after moon circlet, since it's one of the very few items that didn't make it from that book into this one.
* Pg. 359 - Rod that shouldn't be, it's odd that the alignments between the two rods change (one's CE, the other's CN).
* Pg. 371 - Table 7-19: 3rd-Level Potions and Oils, Uncommon potion or oil section, the d% ranges for burrow and countless eyes overlap.
* Pg. 387 - Table 7-49: Table Index, for Table 7-15, change the page reference from "370" to "371" since the table made the jump after the latest errata.
* Pg. 387 - List of RPG Superstar Contributors. Change "Erik Hindley" to "Eric Hindley". Also it's worth mentioning that Tom Phillips, David Ross, and Paul Worthen are in this list, but sadly their items did not make it into the book.
* Pg. 388 - Table 7-50: Random Gems, grade 2 section, d% result of 93 missing from this table.

Ultimate Equipment Report - Post Errata

Hidden corrections and missed errata

Hello everyone! ...

How do you find the "Hidden Errata"?

some kinda diff on the pdfs?

The Exchange Owner - D20 Hobbies

That's how I'd do it.
Diff the pdftotext command output.

Grand Lodge

Maybe I do it the hard way, but every time that we post a correction on this thread, I notate it in the original PDF. Then I just pull up both PDFs, first and second printing, next to each other and just go down each correction looking at what still needs to be added to the second printing and what was seemingly fixed and then check the errata document to see if they put it in there and I just missed it.

EDIT: just checking the text within the PDF would actually take longer, because often times for formatting purposes to squeeze things in text gets changed in weird ways, like adding a space in the middle of the word that you wouldn't notice because of how the formatting works, or something bizarre like replacing a one with a lowercase L.

Instruct diff to ignore spacing and case.

What you propose would probably work but it's worth noting that everything you said is Latin to me. My PDF abilities are basically limited to opening closing scrolling and highlighting text to add comments into the document, as well as adding word bubbles to do the same

but that doesn't explain how you found the "hidden errata"

how did you know that the cost for Belt of physical perfection changed if it wasn't listed?

The Exchange Owner - D20 Hobbies

He knows by meticulously examining the two files.

I know this because in the first printing it said it was worth 77,000 GP but in the second printing it was corrected to 72,000 GP, but this change wasn't mentioned in the errata document. I knew to look for this because much earlier in this thread someone had originally reported that it was wrong in the first printing so I notated it in my PDF. Then when the second printing came out I downloaded it opened up both printings at the same time and then went page by page to see if there were any leftover corrections that got missed, and that's when I noticed that some of the things that were reported in this thread had made it into the second printing but the errata document did not report them.

so there could be more

I suppose, but I feel pretty confident that the majority of them were found. The design team has said that they reference these errata threads for fixes. Since I basically checked out every single thing that was reported in this thread, anything else not mentioned I imagine would be few and far between.

Pg. 40 - Urumi

Unsure if this was an update or an omission for this item, but in the Inner Sea World Guide, the urumi description says it takes half damage against attempts to sunder it due to its flexibility. I pointed this out in the Ultimate Combat thread, and now here since UE is filled with copy-pastes from other books including that one.

Not sure if mentioned yet.

But Tepoztopilli and Rhomphaia weapons are not part of any weapon group.

The Flails weapon group looks incomplete; like it was poorly cut and paste. Look like this:

FLAILS
frail), flyngblade, heavey flail, kusarigama, kyoketsu
shoge, meteor hammer, morningstar, nine-section whip,
nunchaku, sansetsukon, scorpion whip, spiked chain,
urumi, and whip

I've bolded the missing line of text.
Should say:

FLAILS
Chain spear, dire flail, double chained kama, flail (light
flail), flying blade, heavy flail, kusarigama, kyoketsu
shoge, meteor hammer, morningstar, nine-section whip,
nunchaku, sansetsukon, scorpion whip, spiked chain,
urumi, and whip

All issues on page 47, Ultimate Equipment, second printing May 2016.

On page 18, Klar listed as one-handed martial weapon, should be listed as light martial weapon.

Description of klar on page 12 and 31 states:

The traditional form of this tribal
weapon is a short blade bound to
the skull of a large horned lizard, but
a skilled smith can craft one entirely
out of metal. A traditional klar counts
as a light wooden shield with armor
spikes; a metal klar counts as a light
steel shield with armor spikes.

Light shields are treated as light weapon. Ergo, Klars are light martial weapons and are not one-handed martial weapons.

Klar FAQ

FAQ:
Klars: A traditional klar “counts as a light wooden shield with shield spikes”, and a metal klar “counts as a light steel shield with shield spikes”. What exactly does this mean? Particularly, a klar is a one-handed weapon that deals damage like a heavy spiked shield, and it deals slashing damage instead of piercing damage, so where do the differences end?

A klar counts as a light shield for the purpose of using it as a shield (for instance, it grants a +1 shield bonus to AC, has a –1 armor check penalty, and has a 5% arcane spell failure chance). For the purpose of using it as a weapon, it is a one-handed weapon that deals 1d6 slashing damage, but it is otherwise similar to using a spiked shield (for instance, the damage doesn’t stack with the bashing ability, you lose the shield bonus to AC when attacking with the klar unless you have Improved Shield Bash, and so on). As a side note, anywhere that lists klars as counting as shields with “armor spikes” is a typo that will be handled in the next errata.

Table 1-8 om page 22, is now out of date as weapon damage has changed dued to this FAQ:

Damage Progression related FAQ.

FAQ:
Size Changes, Effective Size Changes, and Damage Dice Progression: I'm confused by how to increase and decrease manufactured and natural weapon damage dice when the weapon's size or effective size changes. There's a bunch of different charts, and I'm not sure which to use.

When the damage dealt by a creature’s weapons or natural attacks changes due to a change in its size (or the size of its weapon), use the following rules to determine the new damage.

• If the size increases by one step, look up the original damage on the chart and increase the damage by two steps. If the initial size is Small or lower (or is treated as Small or lower) or the initial damage is 1d6 or less, instead increase the damage by one step.
• If the size decreases by one step, look up the original damage on the chart and decrease the damage by two steps. If the initial size is Medium or lower (or is treated as Medium or lower) or the initial damage is 1d8 or less, instead decrease the damage by one step.
• If the exact number of original dice is not found on this chart, apply the following before adjusting the damage dice. If the damage is a number of d6, find the next lowest number of d6 on the chart and use that number of d8 as the original damage value (for example, 10d6 would instead be treated as 8d8). If the damage is a number of d8, find the next highest number of d8 on the chart and use that number of d6 as the original damage value (for example, 5d8 would instead be treated as 6d6). Once you have the new damage value, adjust by the number of steps noted above.
• If the die type is not referenced on this chart, apply the following rules before adjusting the damage dice. 2d4 counts as 1d8 on the chart, 3d4 counts as 2d6 on the chart, and so on for higher numbers of d4. 1d12 counts as 2d6 on the chart, and so on for higher numbers of d12.
• Finally, 2d10 increases to 4d8 and decreases to 2d8, regardless of the initial size, and so on for higher numbers of d10.
