Delta Green

Anyone familiar with the Delta Green releases?

Pagan put out an edition for D20, but it was just the one book.

But, I've discovered, there's also Delta Green: Eyes Only, which has spawned a couple questions:

1> How "system-neutral" is this book? Is it completely wrapped around the BRP system, or is it relatively rules-light?

2> Are there other Delta Green gaming releases besides this book?

Thanks!

Ahh, another vict...ahm, potential agent:

First: The D20 Book is the one that you want (and it is really hard to find anything d20 in that book... - it is really a Call of Cthulhu/BRPG book with some d20 bits in there).
While the Book is largely written for Call of Cthulhu, it is mainly setting fluff with some stats. While you will need to get the Call of Cthulhu rulebook to run the included adventures as written, rules definatly take the backseat in any CoCt/Delta Green game and it is quite easy to run the adventures using any other skill based rpg rules (I run Delta Green mainly with the Alternity rules).

Eyes only expands on the setting and has some more adventures, it is as ruleslight as the Core Book.

There is a hard to get book called Countdown, which further expands the setting and has some adventures, some of them can be found on the page of Delta Green writer Dennis Detwiller

The Alternity - Dark Matter adventure 'Killing Jar' as well as 'Raw Recruits' from the Dark Matter Setting book (Alternity, not D20) make excellent Delta Green Adventures if slightly twisted by the GM.

This Page contains some excellent Delta Green stuff, as does this page (look for the handouts to the Delta Green sczenarios under 'files/utilities', they are a big enhancement to the game.

I hope that helped.

Shadow Lodge

Delta Green - The basic sourcebook
Delta Green: Countdown - Delta Green in the 2000s
Delta Green: Eyes Only Volume 1 - Machinations of the Mi-go
Delta Green: Eyes Only Volume 2 - The Fate
Delta Green: Eyes Only Volume 3 - Project Rainbow
Delta Green: Eyes Only - Compilation of the above three books
Delta Green: Targets of Opportunity - Sourcebook for more evils

It is worth noting that as of a few days ago it is possible to get both delta green and Countdown as pdfs from drive thru RPG, as well as some of the fiction.

Woah, wait, what....

There goes my money!

Oh, and print on demand. :p

Now fair warning, they are scanned image files, not PDF versions of the publisher files, the books being so old they would have effectlively had to re-write the books to make such a pdf, but I have yet to see bad feed back on the quality, as they effectively destroyed a mind copy of each book to make the best scans possible.

I believe, though I cannot find the quote, that they are looking at bringing us Eyes only and targets of Opportunity as well.

The release of these books in PDF and POD, is a terribly exciting deveopment for me. It means I am finally able to give pagan the money they so richly deserve for the books, and am in a position I can purchase countdown in hard form.

This is doubly exciting because countdown has been one of the single most influential Mythos related books I have ever had the pleasure to read. It is the source of my gaming obsession with the Hastur Mythos. So yeah, when I get paid, oh yes, it will be mine.

Augh, mine too! :)

Thanks for the awesome feedback, folks! VERY much appreciated!

Dark Archive

Delta Green has some excellent content and fluff material.
Overall most of the stuff is very system neutral (95%) but of course it's not mythos neutral. That being said I have stripped out most of the mythos related stuff from my DG books (I have em all) that I have used for my 2nd ed Chill campaign. That or I just use the material as a guideline/template when creating my own conspiracies, cults, locations, etc (where as mine are based off of rw secret societies/cults vs mythos related ones).

That is a testament to how well it is written, I don't use most of the actual content but I use the layout and the thought process behind the creative content to help me write my own material.

I like the conspiracy angle as it works for generic horror but for me the mythos aspect doesn't work. I like my CoC in the 1920's and 30's.

The material is so well written though, even if you don't plan on running or playing the game the creative matter is still a very entertaining read.

I was looking at running some of the Delta Green material in a Savage Worlds Realms of Cthulhu campaign, but the campaign came to an end before I had the opportunity. And it's good to see another Chill player on the boards.

They're also availible from DriveThruRPG as print-on-demand books, with both softcover and hardcover options. Dunno how the quality is, since the PDFs are scanned.

Yeah I saw :D

I should be able to let you know soon about the quality at the end of the month.

Pagan's website says they plan to have Eyes Only and Targets of Opportunity out by the end of the year, which would essentially complete the Pagan Publishing Delta Green catelog.

That is excellent news.

There has been a lot of activity from pagan in the last few months, and with the, what i think we can only call, unmitigated success of 'Bump in the Night', I am starting to hold out hope that we might see something of a new renaissance in Pagan pub products.

It would be amazing to see arc dream and Pagan putting out more Delta Green.

Liberty's Edge

I'm a HUGE Delta Green fan. I've been waiting for years for the WWII book.

I was on the kickstarter for "Through the Glass Darkly" and it was a great Delta Green novel. The whole setting is awesome and worth picking up.

Countdown's tough to find though...

There's also the very similar "The Laundry " by Cubicle 7. link

The Laundry looks awesome, as if Delta Green and the Office had a delightful lovechild.

Any update on the quality of the POD books? I just placed my own order for the Delta Green Source book (hardcover) and its companion, Countdown ...Hoping the quality is decent.

More the IT Crowd, than the office.

I'm afraid not, have not yet had the money to spare for the books.
