Is cannibalism in this case the ingestion of any intelligent creature or simply of the same type as the eater?

5/5

Biologically, it's the latter.

Socially, it's the former, by default.

Gaming-wise, it's debatable.

Presumably the taboo against humans eating humans comes from humans a) not wanting to be eaten b) living in society with each other where they can put social pressure on each other.

In Golarion elves, dwarves, humans, gnomes, and so on live a sufficiently integrated life that I would expect the taboo to extend to humans eating elves or gnomes eating dwarves. The greater the social distance between the eater and the food the less likely the taboo seems.

While some people might object to any sufficiently intelligent creature eating any sufficiently intelligent creature, I can see some cultures being ok with eating intelligent dinosaurs.

given the insanely low cost of dragonhide armor some sort of sustainable harvesting of shed scales seems to be in effect.

Let's just cut to the really important question, can we take Profession (Cannibal) as a skill?

I figure dragons must shed their hides like snakes periodically. Then they sell the whole thing. Brings in a nice chunk of change for the horde.

No way are that many dragons getting slain. Have you ever actually fought a pathfinder dragon?

Ugh, lets not make competitive food eating a thing in Golarion, please?

well... I'm told you should try to turn what you enjoy into a job... but I've never been able to make a living at Bacon. Maybe in PFS Profession (Bacon) is a skill?

Bluff.

After a while I'd posit it becoming, more than anything, a Fort save vs nausea.
