This sheet is Unreal! I'm astonished at the level of work that went into it. I personally cannot count the number of times I've looked at my character sheet and thought "Why is that number so low (or high)" and then proceeded to go through all my feats and racial trait trying to see if I've made a mistake somewhere. My hat is so far off to the people that keep this sheet running that I doubt I'll ever find it again.

I have but one small complaint about the skills section. The core skills are not on the character sheet 1 because overly specific scenarios take up all the room. Some of which i think are being added up incorrectly.

Under Perception:
Tracking - 1/2 speed Wis¹ +5
Tracking - Normal Speed Wis¹ +5
Tracking - x2 speed Wis¹ +5

Not listed:
Spellcraft
Stealth
Survival
Swim

SOLVED!
It took me some time but I figued it out. By selecting from grid number BE118-CW118 and the dragging the box up to replace the undesired skills you can make room for the ones you want. I did this several time and it took me a couple hours but I've managed to pare down the list so that it only contains the basics and a few of the additions from the excel sheet.

Since this seems to have hit a dead end as a project (sadly) can anyone point me to a similar program?

Liberty's Edge

I use PCGen now.

I've just downloaded The One Sheet (TOS+) and that seems ok on face value, but is a bit funky to navigate.

Does PCGen have all the up to date rules and published content?

Liberty's Edge

It has a lot, but not everything.

yapcg and pcgen.

Google "yet another pathfinder character generator"

And with PCGen being a volunteer project if there isn't a book in the source you can make it and send it to our repo for inclusion.

Wow ok.

Does anyone want to pitch the pros and cons of their preferred tool?

Which are up to date with content etc?

Both look interesting I'll be playing around with them a bit.

Ok PC Gen - looks good, but loading in the resources.... oh my, half are in Red and you need to work out some mystical order, for them all - can't load one until the other is in, and some you can't load if something else is already loaded before it.

Perhaps a load or decision tree could be provided, as that is really not user friendly as a process.

I just wanted it to load all the Paizo & PFS stuff.

The good news is once you do it once you can save it as it's own named group to load each time.

I'm still trying to work out the combination to get them all in :p

Liberty's Edge

When you select a source, in the description there is a zone when describes which others sources are needed, marking them in red if missing.

OK no worries, I'll take another look. There is obviously some ideal load order :)

Grand Lodge

My preference is Hero Lab for character generation myself, especially for it actually have some 3rd party support such as Spheres of Power and Ponyfinder.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Here is my favourite sheet.

YAPCG

Edit: Doh...I just saw that other people linked this sheet above.

Ah it still deserves another post on it. It's that good. :)

Herolab looks awesome but for as little as I actually get to play new characters it's way to much of an investment.

OK gave the PCGen a crack.

It is a great tool, BUT it has some holes. In PFS you can get Boons and Vanities which allow you extra class skills etc, and these don't seem to be implementable - there's no toggle for making something a class skill, or overriding some of the other mechanics (ie adding in a Faerie Dragon as a Familiar)

YAPCG has a PFS mode and a lot of customizable options.

Anyone able to get this to work in excel 2010? I can't even get it to run in Open Office.

That, right there, is a mandatory for me.

Direct link to the files.
