So, once I get my hands on a copy of the Rise of the Runelords hardcover I'm going to be running the AP. What I want to know is what other events are taking place at the same time?
Shattered Star (SS) assumes that the events in Rise of the Runelords (RotR), Curse of the Crimson Throne (CotCT) and Second Darkness (SD) have all taken place, and since I want to run that AP, but skip CoCT and SD, I want to have news of the events in those two APs scattered about while the players are going through RotR. I feel that it gives a better sense of a "living world" to the players; that events take place that don't involve them.
So, I ask the boards: What's the news? What rumours, happenings and events from CotCT and SD would be talked about and speculated upon by the townsfolk? Obviously, the exact details and secrets would only be know to a select few, but something must be known by the NPC in the street...

- King Eodred dies in mysterious circumstances, local artist blamed
- Plague hits Korvosa, hundreds die
- Queen Illeosa imposes increasingly heavy-handed laws in face of plague and unrest. Old Korvosa remains closed off
- Revolution in Korvosa. Illeosa outsed
Second Darkness:
Most of SD takes place quite far off-screen and away from Varisia
