Yeah... Like, oh I don't know... Rope, maybe?

Rope was not on Painlord's What to Expect list.

Exactly. And guess who didn't have rope when we needed some in a particular scenario? :)

And now I have another web series to watch?

Yeah, when I heard that the actors from Standard Action were going to be participating as NPCs, it made me want to go even more. Its a great show I think, and I eagerly await its second season.

2 people marked this as a favorite.

WTF!?!

The trained, professional trapfinder who brags about his trapspotting and disarming abilities is the only one in the party to fall for the trap and fall over 80' to his near doom yells at me for not having rope?!

I can fly! I don't know need no stinking rope.

Bah! We should have left you to rot down there...

Love and snots,

Princess Isis

Dragnmoon, I'm sorry I missed you this year. Next time I'll be signed up to GM and more accessible.

Scarab Sages

So, as I mentioned here, I just realized that Kyle Baird killed my character at PaizoCon!!

Whheeee! FUN!

It was an amazing con! Thanks to everyone who made it such ^_^

Special props go out to DJ, Alex, & Ryan who cos-played along side me throughout the weekend.

GrandConvo was too awesome for words (even if the Paracountess played her role too well & actually started to creep me out :-p) The Harrowing Table & the Boasting tables were some of my favorite social events. Big thanks to Stacey & Crystal Fraiser for running those events. My character took 2nd in the archer contest, destroying an entire target in the 3rd range increment with a sling! Our group, sadly, didn't get to do the Quest section b/c the tables for it were always full :-( The final fight was no real danger for our table, and I was still one-shoting the minions even after I lost 16 STR! A fitting cap that places him at level 12 now ^_^

I got to play in the Joust event with my cavalier and finished in 2nd place - earning that character some much needed self-respect as he's an ex-slave Order of the Dragon and doesn't do much for himself. The joust was quick and fun; an event I hope comes back year after year.

For those who weren't on Twitter, there was a bunch of tweets under #paizocon

Here's the photos I took during the con: HERE

Myron (VL from Winnepeg Canada) is an amazing GM and really set the bar high with his running of To Storm the Diamond Gate. Rats of Round Mountain was also fairly well run by the 2 GMs I had (sry, blanking on names) & it was LOLsy to have my Razmiran Priest bring that suicidal paladin back to life twice!

The "Looking for Group" playtest was quite fun and they're putting together some decent archetypes for their game.

All-in-all, it was one heck of a time ^_^

That paladin was Thorfin, and I think his death count is over 11 now ;)

Thanks for starting the thread Painlord. Thanks for the good times.
Thanks especially to Andrew Christian (like most sunday GMS) just for showing up, but especially for running a fun game. Seriously one of the best PFS GMs I have been in (WalterGM is our local GM so you are in good company :).
Thanks to Pirate Rob (know I know thee) for running the LFG game after the con (and to Painlord and Mike for the bonus to 'people still playing'! (1d8+1 that must have been you at the table? :)

And thanks to those who did the GC. Just. Simply. THANKS. (aka Galdur XXI)

It was an unbelievable con. And my wife has now kept playing PFS Society. Just a shout out to those folks out there. She came away excited, and happy with how friendly everyone was.

4/5 ****

I finally managed to upload my PaizoCon pictures.

Of course the way Flickr works they are in reverse chronological order. They also feature pictures from our 14hr road trip and of the surrounding Town Center.

Liberty's Edge

What an incredible time. Amanda and I were blown away by how friendly and open almost everyone was. The venue was outstanding, and we made some amazing new friends! Cannot wait for next year.

Two kids and me had a blast at Paizocon. It was my and Amy's second one, Phillip's first.
We did nothing but PFS the whole con, and that's the way we liked it.
I got to play a couple of games, and earn a special "toy" for playing a certain trilogy with the same character.
The kids went off and played different games so they could run them for folks back here later on.
As awesome as it was, here's a couple of thoughts on how stuff could be even better next time.
1. For people who have no interest in the lottery events, open the general events earlier. I would have been mightily pissed off if we'd missed some PFS games because of time zone difference.
2. According to Lisa, and others, Paizocon has already outgrown the Marriott. Maybe it's time to look at a convention centre - I believe there's one in Linwood (sp?) with several adjacent or nearby hotels. It may cost more, but clearly the Paizo name is a crowd pleaser and crowd puller and a single hotel isn't going to cut it any more.
3. Whatever hotel(s) are negotiated with, get in-room internet included in the deal. Please. Pretty please. With sugar on top.
4. The biggest gripe I saw prior to this year's con was how "late" the date announcement was. Seems a lot of folks in the US, as well as some of us furriners, need to apply for time off work a long way in advance. The later the dates are announced, the tougher it can be for some of us to get the time off work. While lots of folks no doubt have preferred dates, here are mine: June 21-23 (week after Origins), July 19-21, or August 3-4 (two weeks before Indy - like that's going to happen). Whatever the dates, the sooner they are announced the easier it will be for more people to get the time off
