You know what I'd like to see? Different spell lists for the Adept npc class, and alternatives for its "Summon familiar" class feature. Either one of those would go a long way to having an adept that feels a lot less like a druid and more like a low-level member of the clergy.

Hey folks,

Every who has sent me a request for their free PDF should at least have heard from me, though I know not all the PDFs have been sent out yet. If you have sent a request, and have not heard from me, send me the request again. When you do, be SURE to include both what PDF you want, AND an email address for us to send it to!

If you've commented here but haven't asked for a PDF yet, feel free to do so! Just, again, , be SURE to include both what PDF you want, AND an email address for us to send it to!

I'm not nearly as bright as I think I am. I posted here and then went and bought a bunch of PDFs. Well, at least I helped you pay some bills so you could keep writing. I'll send you a request too. There is something I was going to buy and I would like to have anyway.

LOL. I've been thinking about this for a while now. Really a good idea.

SGG did this already, at least something that is similar. The Genius Guide to the Templar happens to still be on sale for $1.49, as well. I need to mention I absolutely love the product, since I gave it a 4/5 stars in my review.

Excellent! I'd love a Flumph companion for my ranger. :-)

I wanted to make sure you were aware of this:

Advanced Options: Inquisitor's Judgments

And this:
Ultimate Options: Power of the Ninja

Though I have also noted down all your suggestions!

I have both of those already. Would like to see even more options.

Mixing and matching with the Eberron campaign setting or Game Mechanics 'Temple Quarter' ideas, subbing out the Summon Familiar ability at 2nd level for a single Domain at 2nd level, could be one way to go.

In the vein of 110 Spell Variants;
110 Monster Variants
Examples; Styx Serpent Hatchlings (fiendish vipers w/swim speed and Int/Cha damaging venom), Mature Styx Serpents (fiendish constrictors with the scaled-up poison of Styx Serpent Hatchlings), Carnivorous Slime (use giant spider stats, hurl phlegm as ‘web’, slam inflicts poison attack replacing bite, sticky slime-coated walls, floors, etc. replace stationary webbing, ooze traits replace vermin traits), Dire Viper (constrictor stats with venomous viper bite scaled up for new size / Con), Dire Falcon (giant eagle w/Int 2 and powerful charge (both claws, no bite) when able to fly at least 100 ft. before striking prey)

New Genius Guides to X Magic;
The Genius Guide to Thorn Magic (plant / wood magic, treating wood as an 'element,' a la the Chinese five elements) [I've already written up 20 spells for this one... I love plant magic!]

The Genius Guide to Iron Magic (metal / steel magic, treating metal as an 'element,' a la the five Chinese elements)

The Genius Guide to Entropic Magic (magic of chaos, spells of freedom, creativity, dissolution, transformation. To be accompanied by the Genius Guides to Resolute Magic (law), etc.)

I've been mulling this whole question over for a while and there are couple of things that occur to me.

1) I'd like to see a take on a caster that is the antithesis of a caster like the Shadowcaster...one that focuses on using light as their means of casting...Just a thought.

2) The other thing is the notion of truenaming from a Druidic perspective. I was thinking about this and a druid that spends time learning the true names of the world around him...

Anyway, my two cents on the subject. Make of it what you will.

Oh and I also like the above mentioned items by Set in the magic arena. Some of those sound fun!

Hey Folks!

Everyone who sent me a request for a free pdf should fall into one of the following categories:
1. You have your pdf. Yay! Enjoy.
2. You don't have your pdf, but I sent you a note this week saying your request is in. You shall have it soon.
3. You don't have your pdf, but you heard from me this week asking for clarification, and once you get back to me I'll arrange for the pdf to be sent out.
4. You asked for a pdf that isn't out yet, and I said I'd be happy to do that. There's just one of you, and it's a special case, but I like to be thorough when making categories. :D

If you don't fall into one of the these categories, evil fey mites may have grabbed your message to me. Please send me a note with 1. Your email (to receive the pdf at) and 2. What pdf you want.

This is also what you should do if you posted on this thread, but haven;t requested a free pdf, and would still like one!

Thanks!

I seem to be in group 2 so I'll hold my breath a little longer. ;)

You know, I have to just say that this experience, and the interactions it has brought with our customers, has been fun!

I've had PDF requests that:
1. Told me about the patron's character or campaign, and then asked what I recommended of ours to augment that.
2. Asked for Call of Cthulhu products, because the patron already had all SGG Pathfinder-compatible PDFs.
3. Included submissions of new products written by patron as a freelancer
4. Included long thanks for the material we've already produced, sometimes including war-stories about how it was used.
5. Told me what SGG products the patron already had, and told me to "surprise him" with a PDF of my own choice.
6. Graded the PDF I sent in SMOMNIs (Shooting Milk Out My Nose Incidents), and noted that the Smomnis weren't usually a bad thing...
7. Included proposals of marriage (just two, but that's two more than I've ever gotten from fans before...)

It's just cool to have such great interaction with such great gamers. :D

Owen,

I don't think I'm alone in thinking this, but we all know there are folks whose name carries a bit of gravitas when attached to a product or a brand, but aside from your extensive resume in this industry, it's also your character as to how you present yourself and how you interact with your fans / customers that puts you in my small list of individuals when their name is listed, I have a tendency to check out the product with more attentativeness than what usually gets pitched / advertised on a daily basis across the various e-mails, blogs, newsfeeds, etc. Even when you feel the need to take a personal stance on an issue which sheds some light into your personal life and/or frame of mind, you still manage a way to present yourself with civility - even those status updates where it looks like you're ready to blow your cool (and rightfully so), you manage to keep grounded.

Keep it up, sir. :)

Way back in the days of 2e I made a "photomancer" that did something very similar to this idea.

"He's mad, I tell you! Mad!"

Very cool Owen. Just got the PDF you sent along. I'm lovin' it already! As I was reading through it I noticed that there seemed to be some evolution of ideas that I thought I remembered from the Advanced Game Master's Guide. Checked Section 15 and there it was "Advanced GameMaster’s Guide. © 2005, Green Ronin Publishing; Author: Owen K.C. Stephens"

Thanks again for your selection!

That would have been three, but I don't think my wife would approve...
