Eidolon Slam

Rules Questions

Biped Base Form

So you can spend 1 Evolution point to replace the two claws with a single slam, can you spend another evolution point to get another slam attack with that same pair of limbs?

I can understand it ruleswise if it's a no. Two 1d8 attacks is pretty crazy but it's just strange that you'd need both hands to do a slam attack when in most situations it just isn't feasible to use both hands to hit someone.

Scarab Sages

Slam does not specify.

In at least one season two scenario an eidolon was given two slam attacks with a single arms evolution.

"This evolution can be selected more than once, but the eidolon must possess an equal number of the limbs evolution." i.e. each slam uses both arms provided by a single Limbs evolution.

Partially incorrect. Yes, the eidolon in question has two slam attacks, but it's perfectly legal to do so, because the eidolon in question has two sets of limbs evolutions (arms and legs).

lol, so I can do it but you get it in a roundabout fashion. That's funny.

A little late to the party and pulling a necro thread on this, but no the limbs (legs) evolution cannot have a slam attack attached to it. The Slam evolution specifically states it must be tied to a limbs (arms) evolution.

Temtacle gives slam, costs 1 evo point

Here's a follow-up question: Slam says that you "can" replace the claws with a slam attack. What if you choose not to? Can an eidolon deliver two claw attacks and a slam with the same pair of limbs?

You can have the claw attacks and a evolution chosen slam, but the Eidolon can only do one or the other in a round, not both at the same time. Slam is a full attack, not unlike Bull Rush or Whirlwind Attack.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

As far as I know, a Slam is a regular attack, not a full attack. A creature can move and still deliver a slam attack.
