I embark on a sea voyage on tomorrows eve. As a dwarven warrior of faith (Fighter1/Cleric6), in my dwarven Plate, and laden with weapons, I cant say the open waters are my friend. As I search the local shops in Absolam I am not finding much to aid me in my preparation for the trip into the roiling salty sea.

Have any of you, my fellow adventures, have any suggestions for a land lubbin dwarf to ensure he dont wind up at the bottom of the sea?

TLDR: I cant find many mundane items for seafaring in my books. I picked up a swan token, and have about 2k gold. Are there any cool items I'm missing? Reference if ya can, but all suggestions welcome.

inner sea guide and inner sea guide primer.... case closed

a ring of water walking should be obvious. It's more than 2k though, 15k.

The adventurer's armory has a variety of items, but i can't remember any true standouts.

The emergency kit for every seaborne, heavily armored dwarf:

1. A potion of water breathing.
2. A potion (or better yet, boots) of levitation.

Potions of "Touch of the Sea" are 50gp: ten rounds of having a swim speed, +8 to swim checks (to negate armor penalties) AND you can take 10 on swim checks. It does NOT grant water breathing, but as a dwarven fighter you can hold your breath for 20 rounds or so *anyway*.

Probably the best "poor man's" water-hazard counter-measure.

Get some fins and a life vest as a masterwork tool that provides +2 to your Swim skill. Might help.

Masterwork tool is so often overlooked.

Good stuff, I may survive this yet! Thanks for all the inputs.

Air crystals from the Pathfinder Society Field Guide will let you chew for a breath of air. As you're a cleric, you also have access to air bubble, which I would always keep prepared while afloat.

Potions of touch of the sea are by far the best suggestion I've seen, especially if you have a handy haversack. You fall overboard, and 12 seconds later you're swimming back to the boat. Combined with air bubble and you should be fine in your plate.

Talk about busting a 2000gp budget! :P

Hire a witch and buy some rope to tie the witch to your back, since witches float this should keep you from sinking.

I see this as plausible.

Prepare Water Walk and Water Breathing as your 3rd level spells.

If you really wana do it on the cheap just pick up a few extra waterskins and fill em with air, 3 to 5gp tops.

Don't forget your flippy-floppies.
