Downloadable "blank parchment" PDF?

OK, this is very silly, but here it is: Is there a way to get the background and font for the AP handouts? You know, that yellowish parchment background with the handwriting font?

My players in Kingmaker have started pranking each other, and I want their notes to each other to be indistinguishable from the wanted posters in the front and the back of the AP.

So I've got everything I need: Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Office, the color printer, and the photo stock.

All I'm lacking is the base "parchment" background and the font.

Any help at all would be appreciated! Otherwise it's going to be some creative scanning-and-cutting-and-pasting for me.

Thanks!

Have you looked at parchment printing paper? It gives that parchment look, and is easier on the ink. I haven't seen the parchment handouts for Kingmaker, so I don't know if this would work.

If you're willing to spend a little time learning the GIMP interface, this tutorial on the Cartographer's Guild forum is very good for creating that weathered parchment look.

The GIMP idea is awesome since my main box is Linux, so I'll check the site. As I said, I'd prefer "indistinguishable" but it looks like I can get "close enough" without too much effort. Thanks for the links!

EDIT: Well, I had to follow 3 more links, but I finally got to the base instructions and they're dirt simple. I'll re-post in a day or two once I get a chance to try it out. Silly things like sleep and work keep getting in the way of my fun!

Here's what I do for my handouts, I'm not sure if that's what you're looking for...

Open a blank document in MS Words.

Depending on your version, open the 'edit' or 'page layout' tab. Select 'background' -> 'page color'. Select the 'fill effects...' option. Switch to 'texture' tab. Pick your favourite. Both 'parchment' and 'stationary' are nice. Not as highly textured as some parchment images you'll find on the web; but its an easy fix.

Alternatively, still in MS Words...

create an image (insert a shape, select whichever you want, draw in on your page). Select your image, click 'shape fill...', select 'texture'. You should find more of less the same textures

Hope it works for you.

Solution #2; get some 'parchment' or 'stationary' paper. Much cheaper than the ink you'd use on the long run.

[edit] You can play with textured text box or behind-text images filled with 'parchment' and 'stationary' textures printed over parchment or stationary paper. You'll get several 'shades' of parchment-ness, which can easily enhance a character sheet for example.
