So, my Magus just got his black blade two weeks ago and I still haven't been able to come up with a proper name.
The wielder is a LN tiefling Magus (Bladebound Kensai) with Asmodeus as his patron. In his first adventure, he earned the well-fitting nickname of, "The Dandy Devil". He's a Varisian troup raised illegitimate son of a Chelaxian noble with a flair for the dramatic. He's very much a duelist and a showboater, relying on dexterity and acrobatics to get away with his swashbuckling antics.
The Black Blade, itself, is an ornate rapier who's purpose is to slay demons.
I am at a loss. Nothing I've come up with so far seems to fit. Demonsbane is just so generic, while Grace is sorta fitting, just not real impressive.
So, I turn to you, oh wise forum posters. Halp?

You could steal one from a book? For a Rapier I kinda like "Needle", from the Games Of Thrones books.
My own Magus carries a dark glass-sword called Myr.
I've found that when naming items it's not about what sounds dramatic to others, but what feels good to the user. Lugging around the greataxe "Hellscreamer" isn't really the feel I would like for my chaotic good fighter for instance ;)

Someone linked to this site the other day and I can't get enough of it:

I'm partial to the name, "Gomorroah Penetrator" but I'd encourage you to create your own.
Edit: linkified

Several good suggestions, but I would like to present this as inspiration for your weapons name.

Hellspike (good for a piercing weapon)
Hamatula's Caress (like a barbed devil)
Impsting
You could name it after one of the Malebranche from Dante's Inferno. In PFRPG, malebranches are cornugons--horned devils, in keeping with the pointy rapier theme. They are:
Alichino (derived from Arlecchino, the harlequin)
Barbariccia ("Curly Beard")
Cagnazzo ("Nasty Dog")
Calcabrina (possibly "Grace Stomper")
Ciriatto ("Wild Hog"[2])
Draghignazzo ("Big Nasty Dragon")
Farfarello (possibly "Goblin")
Graffiacane ("Dog Scratcher")
Libicocco (possibly "Libyan Hothead")
Malacoda, the leader ("Evil Tail")
Rubicante (possibly "Red-faced Terror")
Scarmiglione (possibly "Trouble Maker")
Or, perhaps, something more oblique like:
Censor (pen mightier than the sword? we'll see)
Bloodquill (pen whose ink is blood)
The Nail

Fellfoil is nice. Good one (well, evil one, but you get the point).
I'd hold back on naming it after an extant devil... could cause problems with the name's original owner.
Yeah, something tells me that a Devil might get a little peeved at having some upstart sword using its name without proper permission!
However, you guys have some amazing suggestions. I greatly appreciate all the input as it gives me all sorts of new options/inspirations to work with.

On the other hand, I wonder if an appropriate fluff for the sword would be that one of the devils cheesed off Asmodeus and is now actually bound inside the sword, thus giving it the infernal intelligence it has...
Either way, I'm having a hard time deciding between some of these names as so many of them are absolutely fantastic (you guys rock), though the temptation to just go with Bob the Black Blade or something similarly comedic.

You are too kind dear sir/lady. I come from a long line of sick & twisted. You honor my ancestors and me with your wonderful praise.
Plus think of the the comedic gold. Picture it, the party arrives into the BBEG's lair and are greeted with a big booming voice, "WHO DARES DISTURBS MY RESEARCH?!" And out pops the rapier saying, "My legend started in the 12th century..." The party groans in unison. Six hours later the BBEG commits suicide while the rapier is still in the 16th century.

So does it outright kill fiends, or does it just slay the body while dipatching the soul back to hell? If dispatch, then how about The Vessel.
Also, what aobut something simple: Prince's Gaze. I would suppose a charismatic leader such as Asmodeus has a "piercing" gaze.
Obvious: Ebonstrike
Jaunty: Return Policy
Mythic: Viridiek
...or just plain silly: Ol Billy Baru! Oh Billy Billy Billy Billy...

How about something short that evokes an image of something you want to get away from as fast as humanly possible. Rimmer could work. :P

Shame part 3 of that upload got blocked on copyright. I mean, fair enough on the BBC but you'd think they could host just the first episode to show people what the series was like.

Yeah... I guess let folks watch 2/3 of the episode then make 'em wanna see the rest of it to convince 'em to buy it or something?
