Let me be the first to welcome your new company. The Great Legionnaires will be glad to raise arms and mugs alike alongside our chaotic good brethren.

Goblin Squad Member

And a hearty welcome from The Seventh Veil as well! As you may have heard, we're very interested in Diplomatic Outreach to all Companies, especially those which seek to build something worthwhile in Golarion.

Sweet. An excuse to get sloshed in-game. First thing we need are hectares of various fermentable vegetation, some stills, a windwill ... wanders off muttering about brewing and baking ingredients

Silver Crusade Goblin Squad Member

Company may be a bit too free spirited for my paladin's liking but, maybe I will share a cup of "holy water" with you now and then. lol but anyways Greetings from the Legion.

Goblin Squad Member

A toast to visiting members of the Veil and the Legion. Thanks for your welcome and a look forward to possible business between our great companies. Cheers!

Turin the Mad: Don't forget lumber and iron for barrels.

Silver Crusade Goblin Squad Member

My paladin will likely wander by sometimes, see what is going on. Hope to see you all in game!

Goblin Squad Member

Oh great, all we need is a drunk Paladin.

We could always use a drunken master monk...

Bartenders love drunken paladins; they tip even better and clean up after themselves.

Oh, good point! scribbles we'll also need an architect, carpenters, blacksmiths ... and potters, kilners and glassworkers! Sweeeet

Silver Crusade Goblin Squad Member

And someone to bless the drinks, of course. And take care of the taxes while they are at it. Fortunately, a Paladin of Abadar can do just that for you!

This look interesting, do you have any rules for language? I mean, will the Company accept characters/players with foreign language?

If the answer is yes, then I would like to join.

If your Common is passable in some format (oh, like text) then you should be fine. If you don't speak any Common, then you might feel a bit lonely as everyone will be speaking gibberish around you.

There's no rule for or against it, but it comes down to what you can handle and what makes you happy.

And coopers to actually make the barrels...

Your company needs mead? I got mead... The best mead for the best price!

Cooper is my surname... ;)

Will you be wanting in-house crafters, or will you contract that stuff? That's the end of the game I'm going to be heavily involved in, and CG is my preferred alignment, so... Maybe I'd fit in?

At the very least, I'll look forward to hiring your members as guards on my business trips. Cheers!

Sure, we'll take just about anyone (teetotalers and people who talk at the theatre need not apply). Our crafters have as strong of a role as any other job. While the dungeon runners and monster slayers may get the public glory, I hope that we will be bringing back a decent amount of rare materials for our crafters to use to make cool things for market, the company, or as trophies.

And, if you're planning on being a brewer, you'll have a large quantity of taste testers at your disposal.

Sounds like a great company to me! Just wanted to say I would be more than happy to welcome you to my tavern, The Oaken Aegis. You could meet and greet, find worthy adventures, and of course be taste testers for any brew or meal I come up with! Cheers to the Golden Flask :)

The PFO Drinking Guild.... err... The Golden Flask thanks you for your offer!

How dead set or strict are you on that CG? Personally I mostly end up chaotic good but I don't like to be too confined, if a bit of not-so-good gets the job done (or seems like a giggle) then why not so long as it doesn't become a habit.
So far all I've seen is companies catering to good and one suggestive to evil. Something more accommodating to the middle ground would be nice.

You must not have been looking very closely, then :)

From The Seventh Veil's Announcement:

Well, I setup the company that way, because I lean that way myself.

As far as any wiggle room? We're not too fond of the rules imposed by those who think they're the law and we're not too fond of those that hurt the innocent for no reason. Everything else? We should be able to accommodate it.

And if you don't like our flask of mead, then that's okay as well. We're not going to try and force you to join us if you don't agree with our ideas. One of the main reasons I put this little group together was to try and fill a niche that I saw needing filled.

Nihimon: You're right, I remember starting reading that announcement, my eyes hit the pronunciation hints, glazed over and skipped. I stand corrected though and no offence meant 8)

Virgil: Thanks for the clarification, I'm not into hurting folk ala griefing style so I think the Flask sounds like a good match. I intend playing a cleric, most likely a dwarf (again, I stick to what I know ;) ) if you'll have me.

Sure! Come aboard.

For everyone else, I've found a place for us to call home for the moment.

I am inviting any interested Golden Flask members to the GL clan meeting tomorrow(or today). We will be discussing the implications of the latest blog and as a potential ally your input and ideas would be appreciated. Any GF member is welcome to attend but I would especially love to meet Virgil Firecask. I will be extending invitations to a few other good aligned companies so this would be a great opportunity to have a good-aligned meet and greet, and possibly form some lasting bonds or discuss treaties/future meetings. Please PM me if you wish to attend and I will make sure you get our Teamspeaks details before the meeting happens.

The meeting is at 7PM PST, Wednesday June 11th. Hope to see you there.

I am certain no one took offence, I think Nihimon was just trying to help. In one of the previous discussion I think Ryan made mention of removing TN as a settlement option...meaning we (and anyone hoping to take the "middle road") might have to reconsider our position.

Goblin Squad Member

So, who all do we have that are members of our little band of adventurers?

  • Virgil Firecask
  • Turin the Mad
  • Durmorz
  • Finn the Human
  • Ratzap

Did I miss anyone?

PM when ready, I should be back from work before / about 10 pm EST.

I'm going to try something interesting. Being as we have all sorts of new information from the Goblins coming out every 2 weeks, we can arrange for a little get together to discuss this information.

On the TheGoldenFlask.com I've setup an event that crops up every 2 weeks reminding folks to hop on there so that we can talk back and forth about the most recent news and how it might affect our company.

Attendance is by no means required, but friends are always welcome.

Day: Every GoblinWorks Blog Wednesday (July 18th, 2012 is the next expected one)

Time: 8:30pm US Central Time

Place: The Golden Flask's Mumble Server (details available on the front page of the website after logging-in/registering)

Details: Grab a beer, pull up a chair, and we'll chat about the latest news. Allies and friends are welcome to join. BYOB.

Might as well get signed up on the website. I'll start getting things organized and some content up there including the basics of a preliminary charter.

Goblin Squad Member

Well, I've got a vague idea of organizational structure, but I'd like to hear input from everyone else to how they think we should be running this organization.

How about... you get one vote per mug of ale you can drink before passing out?

My original idea was something a lot less fun, but a lot more in line with traditional organizations... ish.

My idea was to have what I'm calling a Brewer's Council. These people have no authority. It's a good ole boys meeting of the biggest egos and hardest heads... but they have no authority. Their job is to make sure things get done. They don't have to be the ones in charge of getting that thing done. They just make sure it does get done.

Essentially, I'm modeling it after a rather intelligent quote I've liked to pull out over the years: "Lead me, follow me, or get out of my way."

This group of (for lack of a better term) officers of the company don't have to lead. They can, but that's not their job. Their first job is to make sure things get done. If they can do that by getting someone else to take charge while they fill in as a worker, then that's great.

If no one is around to lead and people are willing to follow, then they can pop up and take charge in order to get things done.

If people are kind of screwing around or the person leading is just mucking about, then they need to take charge and cause a bit of a reorganization of the immediate power structure so that things get done.

It all comes down to: I don't care who does it as long as it gets done. The Brewer's Council's job is to help facilitate that in whatever way it needs facilitating at that particular moment by following, leading, or making people get their act into gear. However, they have no real authority. They're merely the guys we count on to make sure that things get done.

I don't think I can organize anything more Chaotic Good than that.

:) The Big Pitcher: what is the Golden Flask's "goal" or "goals" (pun intended). The Brewers' Council (Binge Drinkers' Table?) Is tasked with coming up with the stuff that goes into The Big Pitcher. Lesser tasks are divided into Kegs, Pony Kegs, Cases and Flasks.

Then they stagger about doing what needs doing, preferably while smashed. ^__^

Just a reminder! Wednesday, August 1st should be another Goblinworks Blog post.

If you'd like to pop onto our company's voice chat and talk about and discuss what interesting things the blog post implies, head on over to our Mumble server: mumble.thegoldenflask.com port 61166

Anyone is invited to come along. Festivities start at 8:30pm central (9:30pm eastern / 6:30pm pacific).

Well, I think I've found the Company I'm joining when the game goes live.

Baern Mountainfist (More commonly known as Crustypeanut), Dwarven Wizard (Conjuration & Teleportation Specialist) and Golem Crafter at yer service!

'Hoy there! Welcome to the fold!

Just a note, a sweet potato stout tastes nothing like you'd expect it to.

Silver Crusade Goblin Squad Member

1. Impressive web site.

2. I joined. Not sure what my first PFO character will be, but it will be CG. Actually a cleric of Cayden sounds fun. We see how Goblinworks translates the cleric class.

3. Awaiting memorial golden flask, preferably filled with golden ale.

4. And, in a year or two, hopefully we can play.

Goblin Squad Member

Welcome aboard! I've got you setup on the website so you can see a little bit more than you could previously.

I may be chaotic good, but I'm a wee bit paranoid from my time delivering some "fiery" ale to the Hellknights last time I was in Chelliax. As such, most of the forums are hidden unless I've flagged you as being part of The Golden Flask. This way our allies can join the site and post things on the boards without them being able to see everything.

Silver Crusade Goblin Squad Member

Looks good, thank you.

Goblin Squad Member

Well, the first views of the game are drawing near. Who all is still hanging around our little pub?

Silver Crusade Goblin Squad Member

As long as the ale is cool and the women are hot. Or is this one of those politically correct pubs that serves both kinds; warm and cold ale.
