Part 6 Starting Level?

Rise of the Runelords

Grand Lodge

I'm a player in a current RotRL campaign and we are basically cakewalking through part 5. We are at level 13 about halfway through. We typically have at least five, and sometimes as many as seven players, which I guess is what contributes to the lack of challenge.

What level does book 6 officially start at?

Any idea if this changes in the new hardcover?

Any suggestions on what sort of level adjustment to make if we average six players?

Book six is for 4 14th level 3.5 characters. Pathfinder characters are inherently more powerful and the number of players is so far off, that I'd be very surprised if anything could challenge you.

The hardcover will still be for 4 characters, so without conversion it still will be very easy for you.

You may want to suggest to your DM to use the 6 player conversion as base, and make it yet a bit more difficult, so that you get some challenge from the adventure. It would be a shame for such a great AP to be remembered as cakewalk. If nothing else tell the DM about your concerns.

I'm running this as a PFRPG game for six PCs and really wanted them to be 16th level by the time they were halfway through Book Six. That may be due in part to all the multiclassing that went on with this group, diluting their effectiveness as high level characters; only the Sorcerer and Cleric are single-class.

They were 15h L at the start of Book Six and haven't been having an easy time of it. A pair of rune giants nearly TPK'd them.
