Just read through it. Good to see that everything is falling together and can't wait for the next update. Really excited the dungeons I selected got picked. Should be good stuff. Keep toiling Goblins. lol

Can't wait to see the demo now!

I'm a little sad I won't get the Haunted Crypts - I simply love killing Undead. But it's nice that there seems to be some potential consistency between Forgotten Laboratory and The Enigma Vaults.

It's kind of Unreal to see things get going this quickly. I'm sure that once everything gets setup in the temp offices you guys will have things running like a finely-tuned Engine. After all, having Four additional developers working on things will speed things along nicely.

I'm kind of curious how much of things like class design, economy (profession chains), the contract system, dynamic content, and all of those topics will be at least partially built up enough to give us kickstarters a glimpse at what the final product will entail.

When we move into our long-term facilities, we'll be close enough to the Paizo team to ensure a close communication with them and a lot of cross-pollination of ideas and brainstorms.

I think you should plant lots of flowerbeds & include an apiary or two also.

Great minds think alike! I choose those 3 as well... I think they all go well together and give some continuity! I am so excited I cannot wait to see what they have in store for the demo.

I'm excited and pleased to see they're aiming for an "art heavy" approach for the tech demo. Nothing makes a first impression quite like stunning visuals.

This is really exciting! Glad to see things falling into place for you folks, and can't wait to see things move along.

One question I've been wondering about is what the increased funding from the Kickstarter (stretch goals) will allow you to do. I know the dungeons listed in the demo will be added, but I'm assuming that it might have helped you add staff positions, and other such things.

I know money is a hard thing to talk about openly, but are there any cool things you could mention that were made possible by the increased funding?

Goblin Squad Member

I am just making a guess, but I bet they were able to hire on a few extra hands, purchase better hardware, and also choose a top of the line middle ware software license.

I bet it was alot easier to get all this set up with the increased funding.

Ed is probly rolling his face over a keyboard playing DDO.

I really want to know what Middleware you guys got!!!!

I frothed at the mouth looking at all the hardware.

Goblin Squad Member

Soooo excited to see this off and running! Keep up the good work guys, and I can't wait to see additional glimpses into the process!

Goblin Squad Member

Nice. All the options for levels that I chose won!!

I also love the fact that Goblinworks Blog Day is also New Comic Book Day. I get to win twice every other Wednesday.

Can't wait to see some screen shots and videos.

Keep at it.

"Putting the guts into the boxes. No, we're not putting 4 video cards in each chassis. That would be too much power, even for Goblinworks. :)"

LIES!!!! Quad-SLI is the FUTURE!

There is no such thing as overkill, only "boot" and "Time for more cooling."

Goblin Squad Member

Octo-SLI Vid cards, Dual Hexadeca-core processors, intergrated liquid nitrogen cooling system, and a nano-fusion self contained power source. Too bad I only have a 8 bit Sound Blaster audio card...

Crossfire for ever! Hex crossfire from 3 cards!!!!

I think Ed is doing a dungeon or something.

hehe... nice! Am I the first one to notice your hidden encoding? I'm no expert on this topic, but I was looking at UE4 Elemental demo and it was pretty amazing!

I was a bit disappointed to hear that you guys didn't land the deal you were hoping for (makes me think that the chosen solution isn't as ideal for your vision)... but I'm sure you'll produce a product worthy of the Pathfinder brand! Looking forward to the demo or whatever preview you guys come up with to show off your early work.

I was really hoping for the Pathfinder final exam, but alas twas not to be. My other picks were chosen though, so there is that...

Yeah, I got bored at work. Glad someone liked it.

Ditto--voted for that one as well.

This is great news though! I'm really excited to see the demo, to learn more about the middleware, and to have this all much more "real."

I've circled September 9th on my calendar. I'll try to be patient until then, but I remember circling April 25th back when I read this:

Quote:
Since the last blog, we've moved closer to finalizing our middleware, and we're also about to make our first hires outside of the executive team! We should have more to share on those topics in the next few blogs.

That was in the appropriately named Time is the Fire in which We Burn from March 14th.

Will we ever find out what the middleware that didn't happen was? Or is that going to be sealed behind NDAs forever?

We have no desire to talk about that sort of thing; the potential unpleasantness that could arise from such a discussion far outweighs the extremely limited potential positive value.

That's pretty much what I expected. Thanks for clarifying it, though.
