Mikaze changed avatar... I had to check twice to be sure it is Mikaze - I admit I got used to the previous one.

Because I'm sad. :(

I didn't bother reading beyond the first post, but I wanted to drop in to say that TMNT and Other Strangeness was da bomb back in the 90s.

Seriously, I grew up watching TMNT cartoons. I also loved were-wolves. Does that make me a furry?

I don't go out wearing the cartoon mascot-like outfits and have no plans to.

If you talk to Furries, they will tell you it's not about the sex, its about feeling a kinship with a specific species and wanting to emulate that species. (while it may be true, it's kind of hard to argue when 90% of the Furry art on your hard drive is pornographic) Those who get very into it will start calling their hands and feet paws, and their mouth/nose a muzzle. Depending on your species, you might be called a Scaley, an Avian, or sometimes even a Mythic (if you choose something like a Gryphon or a Cheshire Cat). If you go so far as to actually believe you are that animal trapped in a human body, then you are a Therian.

"Therianthropy is sometimes viewed as a spiritual counterpart to furry fandom, which is concerned more with imagination than belief. Some furries view therianthropy as "taking it too far," while some therians view furries as frivolous and ignorant of the "true nature" of animals. However, relations are usually friendly, and therians can often be found at furry conventions and other social events."---WikiFur

For more information, the WikiFur

For more fun! (He's actually really funny, even for non-furries)

Don't forget that the therians also call themselves Wildians. Some people in the fandom believe that they are animals in human bodies. Frankly, from my perspective, it's possible that an animal spirit will want to experience life as a human.

* Don't ask why on this thread. *

Having wandered into the furry fandom myself, I noticed something about them. 1st of all . . .

* A majority of the people who visit the site I do are homosexual or have homosexual leanings. Not all of them do, though.

* Some of them want to be pets.

* Some of them want to be slaves.

* Most feel a kinship to an animal species. I go there and I'm the odd one out. I say that I'm human and I'm interested in reproducing our species.

* Most furry art and stories are labeled as "Pornography." I.e. visuals and writing about whores. Not all of it can be, and you can say that part of it is erotic art. I would say that the pornography on a furry site can only be attributed to one thing: Repression of sex in our culture. We are allowed to see animal sexuality in the most graphic terms, but the sexuality of Man isn't discussed. I feel some of these artists are doing their best to express their feelings of sexuality and they feel that it's okay to express it through anthro-art.

* That being said, there is a lot of homosexuality in Anthro-art. So, if you want homosexual porn, just log on a furry site. Although, in my enlightened state, I live and let live. It pains me that people just don't want to change, however. I'd love to see the Human Race enter a new Golden Age.

Besides that, I wouldn't mind having a furry in my game as long as he doesn't annoy the other players. Your complaint is mostly unfounded. However, I think you are a complainer and you want others to change for you, instead of you changing for you.

Sorta side stepping the topic, but for those who dig anthropomorphic tales. (HA Tales....get it.)

Check out Blacksad. A noir graphic novel that is sheer awesomeness.

There's Lackadaisy if you also like 20's ganster stories.

A great post

Well said.

All things considered, I think it could be said that anyone using the game foremost as a means to live a sexual fetish - regardless of what this fetish is - in a group that is not likeminded, will assure that the game is less than thrilling to everybody else in the group.

But I doubt every furry will play for this reason as much as I doubt every heterosexual plays the game to be the bigtonkered barbarian looking to get every pretty princess in the land to 'thank' him [Knickknack]
So it is not the furry who disrupts a game but the player who plays for questionable reasons while his coplayers don't.

FIFY for ironic humor. :)

I simply want to know if I'm the only one who is annoyed by this.

You've complained about Bards, Rangers, Children playing the game, game costs, Elves, Girlfriends, and now Furries.

Would it kill ya to start a thread that's not griping about something for once?

Vests, maybe?
