Inquisitor's Bane

Liberty's Edge

When using the bane class ability on a weapon with a +1 or higher enhancement bonus does it add to the effective enhancement for overcoming DR?
Example:
I use bane on my +1 Longsword. Is it now effectively a +3 (like normal bane would be)for the purposes of overcoming DR/Cold Iron or DR/Silver?

yes.

yet another reason why Bane is the equivalent of a +4 enhancement against it's chosen foe.

Yes. The bonus stacks.

Aelryinth could you explain what you mean by it's a +4 equivalent?

edited: to make sense.

Liberty's Edge

Bane grants +2 enhancement and +2d6 (which is the equivalent of +2 enhancement).

Exactly. Think of it as +2 Enhancement + Holy. That's +4.

If you KNOW you're going to be fighting something, there is NOTHING out there better then Bane costwise. The closest at high levels would be Brilliant against armor users. An Average of +2 TH/+9 Dmg for +1 is GREAT magic leverage.

I'd also like to note that the Sun Sword's double damage against Negative Energy creatures is even better then a bane, while it's +2 Enhancement against Evil is probably better then Holy.
