By single season dub, it was just the first 12 episodes that got dubbed before old local distributor, Geneon went belly-up (Sentai handles the distro of this series nowadays).
Exactly. I can't figure out why Louise would like Saito aside from 'The master/familiar thing makes them want each other'. Everyone else I don't have to think hard on.
The Japanese VA for our undersized heroine was popular, having similar styled roles in 2 other series (Shana and Hayate); of course, she was also the Japanese VA for Alphonse Elric too.

Along with the girlfriend (who actually went out of her way to find this coach for me after a bad panel experience at AnimeFest), have been working with a professional coach, and just last weekend we recorded part one of her National demo. I'm doing mine after hers. We don't expect to get to work together, seeing as I have a day job that I wouldn't quit unless I hit it way big, but with home studio set up and a plan to do more than just dub-work (there's apparently good amounts of work to be found for voice-over in general), but given I'm in Funimation's backyard, and know a few people there, having been trained by someone they work with and who has done a substantial amount of game work gives me hope that one day, I'll be brought up in this thread as a character.
And it will be awesome! In spite of, well, you know, being all about that subtitle action.

Yeaaaaah... XD; I feel kind of bad for girls in series where basically their whole purpose in existence is getting rejected - it's why I prefer "harem ends" when there's going to be a harem at all. Either that or at least showing everyone else moving on and being happy.
Also, there was the whole *SPOILER* thing going on there that most people don't know about when they first watch it.

One of the more popular Harems right now is Monster Musume (Every day life with Monster Girls)
It's pretty normal for Harems, with the catch being all the girls are monsters, of course. Thing is it's turning out to be really fun to watch. The Main girls so far are a Lamia (Snake girl), a Harpy (Bird girl) and a Centaur (horse girl) set against a backdrop of a new Interspecies coexistance law.
Our poor main guy has just been selected as a test case for Interspecies Marriage laws. IE: he's been told to pick a girl and marry her, so they can figure out what sort of things they need to keep in mind making the laws.
For the Girls. Lamias and Harpies have no males, so they need humans just to keep their race going. The Centaur meanwhile has this heroic image in mind of Herculeas and Chiron.
All three are also very very dangerous. So far it's a small miracle the guy isn't dead from their affections.
It's the characters and the backdrop that are really sell the series. Most of it is pretty typical but but the girls and the situation is really facinating to watch.

Well, if part of your problem with Dubbing is low quality voice acting, then you might say you are doing your part to improve things. Consider it an anime lover's duty and privilege.
That and horrible interpretation of idioms. But overall I just kept seeing series where it was like no one even tried. I want to fix that, though there's been progress since the bad old days.

I guess I like more... subtlety. Monster Musume just seemed tired. I found Actually, I Am to be much more entertaining.
It's a neat contrast really
Monster Musume and Jitsu Wa (Actually, I am) exist at opposite ends of the Comedy Harem Spectrum.
"Monster Girls" is high fan service bordering that line between acceptable and hentai, with a decent amount of comedy thrown in
"Actually, I am" is low fan service and 90% wacky comedy with moments of drama added for spice.
I love them both but for totally different reasons. Regardless. both shows have very likable characters and decent sitCom set ups. Plus you want to know more about the worlds they live in.
and next week is going to be fun with the new characters

Don't take his 'all dubz are ze devil!' stance too seriously. He hates them even when the Japanese themselves are blown away by the dub work. I praise a good dub when it happens, commend the VAs involved, and then promptly watch the sub instead. Sane's true in gaming for me too, which is a bit vexing on, say, the Koei front, but that's a tangent for another thread.

I only watch dubbed cause if I wanted to read I'd get a book. Unless of course it's only subbed then I've got no choice. Also almost every male character sounds like a whiny child.

"Actually, I am...." just gets more adorable with each episode. It's such a nice RomCom and while there has been some changes from the manga they are doing a great job building the story while introducing the various characters.
Haven't really looked it over, but then I'm not really big on the Gundam franchise. But there are others here who are, and they can verify whether it's up to snuff, as it were.

I've also been sneaking in some episodes of Golion on Crunchyroll. Soooo much different (and better) than the Voltron of my childhood.
As far as giant robots go, I recommend GaoGaiGar (which is what happened when toy-based series are allowed to have good stories).

I'd normally recommend tracking down the Animego or ADV release of SDFM, but from what I've seen those are pricey these days. The story's much better and more mature and Mari Iijima's voice acting and singing are far better than Rebecca Forstadt's. It's a shame A&E (who I think did the box set you have) haven't released the original Macross series as well.
