Dragon Worship?

Lost Omens Campaign Setting General Discussion

Scarab Sages

Hello, and I'm sorry if this is easily answered and in my haste I overlooked it.

I am about to embark on a RotRL AP, and I wanted to build a Dragon Disciple. I got the dude all planned out, but for back story and flavor I wanted to essentially worship dragonkind. The eventual transformation into a Dragon is the ultimate goal for this guy, and DD PRC is the way to go...but I want to sprinkle in some fervor and fire and brimstone into his speech patterns.

Back in the day, in the worlds oldest game there were quite a few ways of going about this, and a few different "dragon gods".

But now? I am unfamiliar with any, and need a few pointers. Books and relevant passages cited for bonus cred.

Thanks in advance!

You could always just use the 3.5e versions. Not a big deal in a home game.

Golarion has two dragon gods: Apsu (Waybringer, the Exiled Wyrm, Maker of All), the god of (metallic) dragons, Glory, Leadership and Peace, and according to the dragons one of the creator gods (LG; Artifice, Good, Earth, Law, Travel).
His enemy is his son Dahak the Destroyer(Sorrowbringer, the Endless Destruction, the False Wyrm), god of evil dragons, destruction and treachery, who created the original metallic dragons as prey for his entertainment (CE; Chaos, Destruction, Evil, Scalykind, Trickery).
In the background there also is Tiamat, the other creator deity, who when the original fight between the above saved Dahak and corrupted wounded metallic dragons into the first chromatic Dragons.

Gods & Magic
Scalykind Gods pp 52, 53.

Faiths of Purity
Minor Deities pg 18
Apsu, The Waybringer
FYI: Apsu doesn't grant spells. Although talking with your GM can change this. Who knows? Your PC may be Apsu's first humanoid follower to be given the power to cast Divine Spells via a Dragon! :p

I don't have the Faiths of Corruption book yet, but it's a good educated guess that Dahak, the Destroyer would be mentioned.

Then there are also the online SRDs at your fingertips as well.

That'll be two cents please,

Rom

Just to be sure, you do realize that with PF the DD PrC no longer changes you into a half dragon.

I was truly bummed when I realized that. =(

I agree that the new version is more powerful, but virtually nothing is kooler than permanently changing youself into a half dragon. { sigh }

Thank you all for the help.

Rom001, your 2cp is in the mail. Postage was $.41 though, so you owe me 39 cents.

Kydeem yeah, it was a bummer for me too. I am trying to figure out if permanency on Dragon Form 1 or 2 might be the better way to go, but I am sure it will go ka-poof when the GM hits me with a dispel.

Irbis, you are the man...er...cat...er...dude? Thanks a ton!

<Opens Pouch of Holding> Ok so let's see...AH, here we g....By Abadar's Quiver!!!!!

Ummm can you break a Platinum Piece?

Witholding two cents,

Rom

It should be noted that Apsu not granting spells was a mistake in the book.

Bomanz's character in human form ... do you see? Bomanz's character changing ... do you see?

Sir/Lady Irbis,

Much oblige for this bit o' 411 (information). Looking at the post date, JJ...err...ahem...Mr. Jacobs* clarified this error recently OR that I just didn't notice the change from any recent FAQ.

<Looks to see if there were any FAQs regarding the above subject matter>

* My bad Sir. I felt my mom just slap my head for that etiquette faux pas.

[Apologies x 1,000 sent via the interwebs to Mr. Jacobs.]

Searching for two cents to give to Irbis,

Rom001
