Heh, I see the forum-faerie has removed the stars (asterisks) from my title for this item- sorry if I broke a rule there, just trying for the "look at me" factor. :-)

I'm all signed up. I'm not taking the day off work Friday, so I'll drive up Friday evening and play Saturday and Sunday, like I did with the last convention.

Thanks for posting this - I picked up a flyer at MegaCon but lost track of when it was. Called up for my hotel reservation the evening of the final day for the event rate & got the last room (they said) for Friday night, plus Saturday night (not the same room either).

I've only played the 1st intro, so assume I should try to get #'s 2 and 3 in as the next logical step. Now I just gotta figure out my character & hope some more people sign up for the Friday afternoon intro2 slot.

There is a large selection of low level scenarios at this event, beamersrq... so you should be able to find plenty to do! Yes, getting #2 and #3 in would be the next logical step- but it's not required. The three scenarios are designed to give you a solid feel for the factions such that at the end of the third, you can pick a faction. If you already have picked a faction, then completing the trilogy isn't as important.

Sounds like rooms at the hotel ran out for the block specified for the event... but I have to say that when I called to make my reservations, the tone/manner of the fellow taking my call changed drastically (for the worse) once he knew I was with the convention. :-| It then became a struggle to finalize the transaction with him. I hope that kind of thing isn't what led to you getting two different rooms.

That's interesting. When I booked my room, the woman I talked to seemed very friendly. But she also made a comment about having one room left for the convention, and that was Tuesday, I think.

As Whiskey Jack said, you don't necessarily have to play the 3 intro scenarios, or even play them in order if you do play them. I played First Steps, Part 3 as my first ever Pathfinder Society game. Then I played the other intros months later with a different character each time, while playing lots of other adventures in between.

There are plenty of low level scenarios to play at this convention. If you don't finish the intros, it just means you'll have to pick a faction before you've met all the faction leaders in game. Just download the free Guide to Organized Play and read up on the factions in there to pick one.

My fiance is trying to get approval to run the module Ravenmoor from the organizer, which is level 3 but you could theoretically do it if you get your new character to level 2. :-)

That would be cool. Beamersq, if Feast of Ravenmoor does make it on to the schedule, you should definitely sign up. It's a really fun adventure, and WJ's fiance is a good GM. You'll have a lot of fun with that one.

Fromper, I will pass on the compliment to her. :-) Keep in mind that Feast of Ravenmoor is a two-session (9 hour) investment. But it will be worth 3xp- i.e. a whole level.

Awesome job! I just talked to the new Venture LT moving to Lakeland, he is coming to Oasis too and will have some Cyphermage going.

Lets plan to have lunch or breakfast and talk about the rest of the conventions in Florida for 2012.

Looks like Ravenmoor is a no-go for Oasis... Gerry prefers that we stick to the scenarios he has already listed on warhorn. Definitely looking forward to seeing you there Dom, and getting away for a meal sounds really good! I'll have to tell you about the public game that we ran today down in Davie sometime soon.

Man, I wish I could join you guys at Oasis, but the family accountant sez no. Keep me in the loop on cool stuff and have lots of fun without me. *sniff sniff*

Darn, was hoping to see ya there. :-(

What? No Kristie?

Not sure I can go...Oh, wait a 9 hour mod, I suppose that'll do, if Kristie isn't there to play with my porpoises....

see Ya'll there.

Gerry has some overloaded tables that need some judge attention. If everyone can pick up a table as a judge we can cover them.

Yes, it appears that that scenarios chosen have led to a lot of hog-piling of players on certain slots. It's too bad it couldn't have been planned out a little differently. It's taken quite a bit of time to try to figure out the best way for us to sign up for things, but we will be helping out by GM'ing.

I find it interesting how lop-sided some of the scenario responses have turned out (150% full versus 0%)- perhaps if there were more mid-to-high level options it wouldn't have been so.

I wouldn't mind going since I live in Orlando, but there's 1)work and 2)the girlfriend wanting to go to the Kenny Loggins concert Saturday that weekend.

For those of you in town, that is a FREE concert, downtown Orlando Saturday from 5:00 PM to 11:00.

Maybe I can sneak in for a bit on Sunday.

There is a lot of dogpiling on new and in demand modules. Many of those who have high levels are on the 12th level modules.

I don't mind the choices, its different from how I would schedule, but to each his own!

Are you coming Thursday or Friday?

We plan on arriving Thursday evening. "Miss H" is prepping to run Sundered Path and I am going to GM Icebound Outpost. Running Haunting of Hinojai this weekend and really looking forward to it. We've got a couple of our regular crew coming along and we're all excited to be a part of Oasis 25!

What I could *really* use is a local's recommendation on a near-by watering hole that isn't one of those *THUMP* *THUMP* *THUMP* dance clubs where I can rest my weary bones and have a nice conversation with others over a drink (or five).

Things are going to be bad downtown Saturday with the free concert, and most places are always full of tourists so its hard to find a place to sit and relax. Looking at the map, I see you are on the west side of the I-4 interstate. The area to your south, especially on Parraomore St, is very high crime at night. Most of downtown is on the other side of I-4 from you. One of the main streets running North- South near I-4 is Orange Ave. This has a lot of clubs/nightlife and noise. Some of the side strrets though have some some quieter places, including a couple of Irish pubs and a couple on smaller places on Chruch Street. There's also some quieter places around Lake Eola a little further east as well.

Sorry I can't tell you more, but don't get over that way to relax, but I do go thru there on the way to/ from work. Though I must emphasize again, be careful and stay away from the area to your south and west.

Quick question - new to PFS and excited to start up.

Pre-reg is closed for this weekend. Without being reg'd, the doesn't look like there is a way to reg for sessions on Warhorn. Will there be a way to wait list for sessions at the con?

I'd definitely just drive down and take my chances of getting a table or two if there is a way to get a seat.

Winter_Born, if you email Gerry Ruiz directly at gerryr88{at}gmail{dot}com he may be able to get you access if you are very certain you are coming. Although signing up ahead of time is the best way to get a seat for a particular event, its very rare that folks get turned away and I know most organizers always try to accommodate new players such as yourself.

If you have any other questions regarding what to bring, or about PFS play in general, feel free to PM me and I will try to help.

I know there will be seats available. Bring your characters, and everything you need. There are a couple of people who can accomidate walk in players, BUT, prereg really helps the convention organizer.

If you have not been to http://floridapfs.org/forums/ this is a good time to go.

Oasis 25 is done and over... and I want to *thank* Gerry and everyone else who volunteered to make the PFS gaming a memorable time for myself and my crew who came up from Palm Beach County.

We're spending the day leveling our characters who made it up another level from the weekend activity... can't think of a better day to spend a Memorial Day break.

See you all at Dice Tower (hopefully!),
