Someone please fill me in on how this works...
I don't have the $100 at the moment, but if I give it any time before July 2, I still get the benefits... is that correct?
You pledge it and can change it as often as you like until July 2nd.
Come July 2nd, whatever you've pledged is charged to your chosen form of payment.
You do not actually pay anything until July 2nd.
If the project doesn't get enough backing, you don't pay anything (that is not applicable in this case, as the project has vastly exceeded its minimum funding threshold)

I'm just going to second what Marcus said. This book (along with Slumbering Tsar and The Black Monastery) are DM gold mines. You can pull out anything from a single room up to a whole level and just drop it in your game.
If you are considering pledging, jump in at a lower amount and start setting money aside. You are not actually getting charged until July.
Here's hoping for $100K!

OK, put in my $100... leaving $666 remaining. Ominous?
Fortuitous and darn near prescient. If you hang on till the end and read the entire thing you will see what I mean. Also, it's a sign that you need to run this adventure with some good friends who don't mind awfully much if their character happens to die. Make sure they bring the food and drink to the game to pay you back for your foresightedness.

I have to say that I view this purchase as a necessity. As a GM, I went to tell the long-running stories which, yes, requires that my players' PCs live (for a time).
But I also want them hanging on by their knuckles, praying for Fate's blessing, tearfully kissing every gold piece. I want dungeons to be fearful again.
Another reason for getting this that's somewhat unrelated, is that I'm starting a middle-school Pathfinder club and part of how I want to gear the game is to have it focus more on cooperation to solve puzzles and riddles. I imagine there would be a lot of creative thinking required to survive Rappan Athuk, yes? :D

Let's keep this rolling, Rappan Athuk + Slumbering Tsar + Tome of Horrors, we can begin to construct a veritable tower of babel out of big books. ;)
Also, perhaps of interest to folks: KickTraq projects this Kickstarter could exceed $300k at the current pace!
Awesome!

Woohoo! Free frogs for everyone! (Or something. :) )
The last time that we went to the dentist, our dentist gave my son a little bag of plastic frogs as a prize. Each frog is about 2cm long. I was looking at them last night and thought, "Wouldn't it be funny if Frog God Games tossed a little plastic frog like this into each Rappan Athuk box that they ship out?"

Woo Hoo! Broke the $80K barrier.
The next bonus goal is $96,327...which has some awesome extras attached...and would officially make Rappan Athuk the highest-funded RPG Kickstarter project to date.
The extras attached to this bonus goal are as follows:
$1+ Pledge:
Wallpaper artwork of Rappan Athuk Cover Art
Special Tribute Illustration (Rumored to be Orcus drinking from a vampire's skull)
$40/$70 Pledge
Players Guide to Rappan Athuk PDF
$100+ Pledge
Rappan Athuk Battle Maps
Softcover copy of the Players Guide
Cyclopean Deeps bonus modules PDFs
Both versions of PDF (Pathfinder + Swords & Wizardry)
The Libram of Fortunate Happenstance booklet (allows players to change their fate)
$250+ Pledge
Exclusive GM Screen
Hero Lab Data Files
D20Pro Digital Mapset
Cyclopean Deeps bonus modules
$650+ Pledge
Will receive a custom hand drawn image on the inside cover of ONE of the copies of the Rappan Athuk book by Artist Chris McFann, signed and dated.
And that's on top of the $40K, $60K, and $80K bonus goal extras, plus all the cool stuff you get just for making your pledge.

YES!
I think 96K is a very tough goal, but potentially reachable if
1) All of the fence-sitters decide to get their feet wet...
And
2) If all of us spread the word to more and more folks.
I'm gonna make a few phone calls and see what I can do to stir the pot with a few of my friends.
If you all want to beat those Vampire folks (and get all of the sweet new swag), we need to pull together and make a last valiant push.
It IS doable.
Orcus awaits.

You know one of my favorite things about this Kickstarter (aside from all the frabjulous goodies that Bill and gang are throwing into the mix)? It's that this is a Kickstarter for a product that is almost here. I'm still hoping for a GenCon release of this monster.
Too often lately I've contributed money to KS projects that won't be released until 2013 sometime. With this one, I spend the money and the product gets here shortly thereafter.
I like that. A lot.

Agreed. The first Kickstarter project I ever funded met it's funding on March 21, 2010. While the most recent updated DID finally give a fairly substantial preview PDF, the fact that it's taken TWO YEARS to get there is pretty horrible.
Yes, I doubt that I would be in the kickstarter if they were talking about sometime next year. I love that the Frogs have been hard at work on this for months and want the kickstarter to print more books and get them into the Gaming Stores rather than start the project from scratch once it is funded.
Good Froggies...

I need richer friends. 16 of them, to be precise. I'd totally nag them into ponying up for the $10K reward. Watching Bill GM a Rappan Athuk game session for 17 people would be worth it.

.
I really need richer friends.
EDIT: I may need to start a thread called 'Questions you would ask Bill Webb at a $10K Kickstarter reward Rappan Athuk game session...'
Hmmm......

I think the main difference would be that FGG is doing this Kickstarter to help fund something that they had already begun, and would actually be putting out even if the Kickstarter funding had somehow failed.
The project was getting close to completion even before the Kickstarter began, in other words. Whereas many/most Kickstarter projects don't really go beyond the concept stage before funding is secured.

Oh man, that was my first kickstarter too. That $250 doesn't seem as worth it anymore, but I don't really miss it.

Skeeter - Well, I remember reading in the blog quite a bit about the new levels having been written before the KS started out.
Plus there's the fact that large portions of RA have existed since the 70s and 80s.
Not trying to say you guys aren't working hard on it, but I think it's very fair to say that RA was well past the concept stage when the KS went live. And 3 modules and a boxed set from Necromancer kinda prove my statement. :P

hehe...getting much sleep yet Skeet?
We actually had to fund the printing and make sure the demand was there after Tsar. Our productions costs (see $12 bindings as a starting point) are just more than most folks. Momma let me risk it on Tsar, but this time she was very nervous about me laying out $50k or so to print the books and pay for the art. I could have done it (obviously, in retrospect), but I was nervous. I actually figured Tsar was only about a $10k risk wjhen we started it--never had any idea we would sell so many.
I also DESPERATELY want to return to brick and mortar stores. Good news is I am talking with a German, a Canadian, and one US distributor already, plus MANY game stores direct.
More news on that soon!

Tri - From the preview, they do seem to have upgraded things to be PF-compatible. I noticed that the entries all had CMB and CMD.
I should go check my copy. That's a bit strange considering it was supposedly going to be used with Trailblazer.
$250? I didn't even realize that Patrons of the Monstrous Arts even had a pledge level that high.
Only three of us. :)

And having nightmares, poor Skeet. It is actually a lot farther along than you make it sound. Don't pull your hair out! (Unless you are going for the Telly Savalas look.)
P.S. I promise to get you the next batch of edits tonight! Though, it might occur after your bedtime.
I guess we'll have to suspend Skeeter's bedtime until August... You can sacrifice that much sleep for the sake of Rappan Athuk. Just drink lots and lots of coffee :)

Nah, Skeeter's going to start handing off pieces of the football to me very soon. I think that he'll coast through July after he hands off the relay baton to me.

Sooner then you think, 21 levels compiled today alone. Should be "finished" by Sunday sometime.
I hear voices...

I pledged at the $100 level. I regret having missed the hard copy of Reloaded, not realizing at the time that it was such a limited edition.
With the pdf of Reloaded, having the monster/npc stats in the back of the huge pdf file made running the adventure difficult--as scrolling from the monster and then back to the room description took time with such a large file. Eventually, I figured out to have multiple copies of the pdf open at the same time, with each copy open to different pages of interest to eliminate flipping back and forth. However, it would have been easier to have monster/npc descriptions with the room descriptions (or to have links you can click). Alternatively, have the monster stats at the end of each level/chapter would make it easier.
I only ran a small part of Rappan Athuk, but the size, complexity, and lethality made it fun. I'm looking forward to running more of it. Having a hard copy should help.

We're following Paizo standard in that stats are in the relevant areas. There is a monster appendix at the back of the book showing stats for new monsters as well.

Awesome!
Kicktraq is a very nice site, but the trend/projection is lacking. If you look at the details and graphs you see that the Kickstarter will probably converge around $100k at most. Hint: Click on the pi symbol in the lower left corner for the Experimental Projection Cone.

You can get a RAR for $ 159 on ebay right now. I saw a few for even cheaper...

Combat Maneuver Bonus and Combat Maneuver Defense are part of Trailblazer (see page 107 of the print book). As Trailblazer came out right around the same time as Pathfinder, it used some of Pathfinder's Open Game Content.
If you look at some things that are 3.5-specific from Trailblazer in the hefty monster preview, you'll find them (e.g. one feat gained per three levels).
