Arcane strike, but why?

As a static damage rider, it gets multiplied on a crit.
Crit fishers and many attack builds (TWF, Monk, ...) can make great use of it.
It uses the swift action, which is a precious resource for some characters. But as something that can be used every round without using resources, it is a good thing.

I have used with an archer bard and found it great at lower levels and from 5 to 9 it helped keep up with the fighter's weapon specialization. The next magus I plan to build for PFS will take it at 1st level. Despite what the guides say a magus doesn't have that many uses for swift actions at lower levels.

My take on what to do if you want to use Arcane Strike. be a bloodrager. Full caster level progression, full BAB, good stat priorities, rage for better strength, and the bloodrager specific feat Blooded Arcane Strike. That last one gets rid of the swift action requirement as long as you are bloodraging. It is also good if your build is a Vital Striker with the Blooded Arcane Strike feat. A natural attacker also benefits from having all attacks deal the extra damage. Still, I'm not telling you what to do, just a suggestion.

Welcome oh might necromancer! You are truly powerful, for you have brought back from the dead, a thread which died long before the era of blood ragers.

Anyway, what do you plan to do with your swift action? I know of a few things*, but your suggested build doesn't really use them. Bloodragers are not enough of a caster to use quickened spells, and I can't really remember anything else out of the box that uses swift actions for them.

And not really sure what you get from vital strike (unless you are referencing some other feat I don't know about). It is 1 hit an... nothing. Is there a feat that gets arcane strike multiplied by vital strike? Even then, vital strike is still.... meh.

*(cornugon+hurtful is the thing that comes to mind first).

Silver Crusade

Reading the thread, I think one benefit of this feat is being missed. Arcane Strike allows you to have the use of multiple weapons (in which you are proficient), and all "are treated as magic for the purpose of overcoming damage reduction." So that means you can overcome DR/magic at the start, DR/silver and DR/cold iron at +3, DR/adamantine at +4, and DR/alignment at +5. For a quick action, that adds a lot of flexibility to your arsenal.

No, it doesn't do any DR other than DR/magic. It doesn't give an enhancement bonus or anything like that.

The mythic version does, I think. But the basic version doesn't.

Additionally, I would imagine that you would start to look at weapons with REAL enhancement bonuses at around those levels (arcane strike scaling- level 10 for +3, level 15 for +4, level 20 for +5).

Silver Crusade

Here's the FAQ which confirms that Arcane Strike allows damaging incorporeal creatures.
