Last year at GenCon I ran 13 scenarios. That same year at Origins I ran 12 scenarios.

This year I'm a GM for every slot at PaizoCon AND GenCon and I'll probably do quite a bit of midnight madness at each convention as well.

What can I say? I'm a better GM when I'm tired and drunk.

If you die and get replaced, does the replacement arrive pre-trained?

He can only learn one trick per scenario.

nope that's why there's the huge life insurance policy on him ... I know he'll go first cause he's like old an junk .. and the policy will pay for someone to train the new one ... I don't have the patience for it anymore.

It also happens when I run a scenario with a poorly-written curse.

Or when I crit against the oracle who was left standing alone with the BBEG after the ninja whom said oracle just healed ran away and hid...

Get your facts straight. I haven't run a table since November. I blame my VC.

You can't blame anyone but yourself. You don't have a VC! Dan is Western Michigan's VC. We've suffered for years with leadership only from the east. Now the West rules!

If Dan wont, I will. Kyle, step up to the plate and claim your VL title today!

Coincidentally, I have been eyeing GR for a VL title. Been focusing on Battle Creek recently due to proximity and familiarity.

Get out of the Coffin Swiftbrook. Go get a game organized. I expect a report of how successful it was in 2 weeks or less. Quest: PFS Game run in a public locale. Faction Mission: Run in a game store.

Oh, and watch out for Kyle, apparently he's done hibernating, and is hungry.

Why is it every derailed thread turns into people recalling their deaths at my table? Odd.

Geez.

I saw this post about languages other than English being forbidden on Paizo sites.

And I'm thinking that I should probably flag the last 200 posts here for the same thing. The last 200 posts have neither rhyme nor reason, follow no grammatical pattern that I can discern, and serve only to drive fellow posters insane.

It's like I've crossed out of the demi-plane of Pain and into the semi-plane of the Insane.

That said, keep up the good work. I'm highly amused.

Yeah, but I'd have accomplished one more thing on my bucket list.

EDIT: My character, however, would no longer need the bucket list.

Sitting at Kyle, then Thea's, and then Bob's would give you about 2 slots worth of entertainment assuming you're not too heart broken after Kyle's. :)

I still have enough prestige points to be resurrected if I so choose. It would be worth the entertainment.

After that I could come back and GM a TPK without feeling slightly guilty.

so I've got like 6 or 7 games lined up around finals ... what you doing?
6 or 7? Is that all? Hmm.....guess I will have to top that by GMing 8 games at Kubla Con and 8 games at Origin back to back from May 24-June 6. Guess I need to contact Azmyth and Painlord :-)

That's not true. I like to play with my prey. It's more fun to make them wait 3 hours. By then, they're begging to die.

Personally, I think this is all pretty much an academic discussion anyway. I have never once, at a PFS table, in 27+ years of home gaming, or at even a Con, seen anyone ban dice from a table or even express discontent about a player using incorrect dice.

There's been plenty of swearing about bad rolls, cheering good ones, and LOTS of superstitious mumbo jumbo about them, but never once have I seen someone refuse to let someone play over their dice.

We've had dice banned at our table before. Usually the GM is just superstitious, but once we discovered that a die that was bought from a random bin at a local game shop was actually a cheater die. (This was after it 20-20-20 in a home game - insta kill) Tom and I rolled it about 1500-2000 times that night and it was definitely weighted to favor 20s and 12s.

Dice with numbers not colored in have also been banned (at least until the player colors them in)

Any time a player brings out micro dice, they are told to put them away - no matter the GM/Player or what have you. The player can barely read them, let alone the GM from across the table.

I ban all dice at my table. We resolve actions with sock puppets and a pop-o-matic. No cheating that way! And you can hear the die results shouted from the other side of the room.

In my mind that is a pretty clear cut case of meta gaming....

I have a sure fire way to get my point across in instances like this. In this instance:

Rogue: Dang rolled a 1
GM: You don't see any traps
Rogue: *sigh* I open the door.
Wizard/Fighter/Cleric: Wait, we all search
GM: Um don't you think that's a little metagaming?
Wizard: No, my character would do it.
Fighter: So would mine.
Cleric: Mine too.
GM: You sure? Okay, go for it.
*dice rolls*
GM: Okay your unpracticed hands each set off a different trap, Wizard, roll your Fort Save, Fighter Roll your WILL save, Cleric, roll an acrobatics check. Oh and guy 100' away, when the rogue opened the door, that dropped the 7,000 lbs boulder out of the celing above your head. Bolder was supposed to roll and block the door, but since you were right under it, it just stopped on top of you....
GM: Whattya say with our next characters we not metagame.

EDIT: And I skipped about 7 pages. Ah well still applies.
