"Half your level" at level 1?

When an ability, like the human alternate racial trait "Heart of the Fields," gives you a bonus equal to "half your level" on something, is there a rule out there that says that the bonus has a minimum of one?

Or, at first level, would "Heart of the Fields" give you a +0 bonus?

There is usually a "minimum +1" clause on such abilities. If there isn't, then yes, +0 at 1st level.

I would reread the Heart of Fields description carefully. Perhaps there's a phrase there you overlooked. I know with the Bardic Knowledge ability, which has a similar system, it specifically says that the bonus is a minimum of one (at first level).

There are a few abilities like that, though usually the ones that don't say '(minimum 1)' say per two levels rather than 1/2 your level.

I would rule that if it doesn't say 'minimum 1' then it rounds down to 0.

RAW, it does not have the "minimum 1" clause, so it would be +0 at 1st level since the rules otherwise do not allow you to round up.

On the other hand, I'd talk to your GM. Were I GM in this case, I'd allow/handwave the minimum 1 clause in.
