*sorry for the rant*
After about two weeks that seemed determined to prove the truthfulness of Murphy's law to me, this morning my sofa broke down beyond repair (it was old, it was time, but still...) - I am 7'/2,1m tall and after injury and operation a few years ago have the need to put up and rest my feet regularly, and that sofa was about the only piece of furniture I owned beside my bed that was good for that - and the only somewhat comfortable furniture for someone my size in my home - I had a pretty much complete breakdown including a short but hefty depressive episode right after that.I am feeling a bit better now, but I am still pretty fed up with the last few weeks and this day - especially since I checked every store for used furniture I can easily reach for a replacement in vain.
*rant over*
I hope everybody else is doing well and you all have a great weekend!
Well that is all your fault for being too tall... ;)
I feel your pain...*hugs*

Hey Berbanna,
I really don't have the relationship experience to give advice except to say you should find a way to talk to your partner about this.
Also...*hugs* I do know a lot about loneliness like I can be in a room full of people and feel utterly alone. So if you need a friendly shoulder to cry on...a somebody to talk to drop me a PM.

Thank you!
Most of the things that happened the last two weeks are taking a turn upwards:I got Internet again, today I got a new (used) sofa that is actually better (and longer) than the last one, my bicycle got repaired and after an almost 4 years long break (due to injury and long term treatment) I can start using it again, the local tax office is getting more problems than I did for advising me to 'pay the ~ 10.000 in taxes they asked of me upfront and get them back when they sortet out their their mistake' (faulty transcription of the decimal place put me at ten times my income).
I actually feel pretty good today :-)
*Offers hugs*

Hi again, and thanks for all the supportive comments. It really did help to vent. And yeah, my partner is probably at least to some part depressed; we've both fought depression time and again.
I want to say that when I wrote the post I had a worse-than-average bad day. A few days have been worse, but most days are better, to the point where I can distract myself and function somewhat.

So glad to hear feytharn and Berbanna are having better days. Hugs for both of you.
And generous hugs all around for everyone who helped me get through a rough patch.

Weird question from a cis person, any idea how to create more representation IN-GAME without making it seem ham-fisted and shoved in? I just realized all my NPCs are straight and that seems not-cool. Any advice would be welcomed.
Generally, keep in mind that straight characters are put in without question, so just... start having gay people pop up, and don't make a big deal about it. "Did that barbarian lord just mention his husband?" "Yeah?" "A'ight, cool."
Trans characters are a little trickier representation-wise because we don't go around saying "we're trans!" because... well, a variety of reasons.
Anthony Burch had a great essay about it that boiled down to "When I realized that I never asked, 'Why is this character cisgender, white, and heterosexual?', I stopped having any hesitations about adding characters that were not."

They had an amazing panel on this at GenCon 2016.
The upshot is much like Vixie said above, PLUS while writing the character try to think of what the character might have gone through in some settings and how to bring that out without turning it sour.
I don't have the specifics here, unfortunately, and my notes are AWOL at the moment.

A small update and subtle step for me.
Went to see a counselor for some issues I was dealing with. Got them resolved or perhaps managed is a better term. Yay me. But we touched upon my gender identity as part of the solution, and she was right. She encouraged and "assigned me homework" to practice being visible and confident. So I have stepped out with support, expressed myself a little more openly. I normally keep my alter ego distinct and limited to certain venues away from the homefront for reasons I am sure all of you can relate.
Discussed it with my high school daughter to alert her for potential pushback from friend's parents. I was already treating it as an open secret since my divorce outing. Gradually being more visible, not adhering to a gender that I was born with. Her friends know, have seen me and accept but now parents are starting to note visible signs of gender non-compliance. Nothing said, double-takes sure. More color in wardrobe, polish on nails and andro but pretty earrings, I am the only male without hair on legs etc Highschool functions, College classes, local chores. No impact as yet. Assumptions are made, I am a LGBT member but which kind? Who will inquire first? The world continues to turn.
Not sure about presenting Femme or androfemme on campus yet. Work is a no go, so this remains separated. Keeping an eye out for jobs where this is not an issue.
And slowly it is Depression that recedes into the closet, not me. Guess my therapist knows her stuff.

Does anyone have any advice on playing/portraying characters of other orientations when you are asexual, aromatic, and autistic? I can think about what it would be like to be agender, but that is about it.
I'm not sure how best to advise this, since I'm an allo (is that the right terminology? I haven't actually seen "allosexual" pop up for a while; at any rate, I'm whatever means "you are indeed attracted to people"). But the good news is, there is plenty of representation for non-ace characters (especially heterosexuals), so my recommendation would be to study the way they tend to behave. If it were me, I'd pick a character I have some sort of aesthetic appreciation for and have my character grow quite fond of them and go out of their way to do little things for them (in Pathfinder, this may include giving them preferential treatment in combat as well).

Does anyone have any advice on playing/portraying characters of other orientations when you are asexual, aromatic, and autistic?
Speaking as someone who is probably the first and definitely the third, I've never had any problems having my characters express affection or signify that they want to jump in the sack with someone. That said, my group of friends are all male and all in our 30s and 40s, so we're long past the "I roll to get laid" stage.
You don't need to turn it into Fantasy Dating Simulator 2017, but you can always liven things up by casually mentioning that your character wants to hire a goodly wench for the night or maybe your character feels inclined to buy gifts for the local lord's daughter (or son), perhaps as a means to get in your lord's good graces. (Naturally, that's unlikely to go entirely well, but that's what good stories are made of!)
I played a Castilian noble in the 7th Sea setting, whose catchphrase to his dubiously loyal pirate sidekick when entering any given inn that night was to "arrange Dawn", 'Dawn' being each innkeeper's daughter. (They weren't all called Dawn, of course, but he was an arrogant and obnoxious womaniser, so it suited the character.)
On the disappointingly incognito side, at one point I also had an air genasi priestess of Shaundakul in Faerûn, who was happily married to another air genasi priestess, yet that never actually featured in the game, as her being gay became a plot point precisely once (and that was by accident).
(This is probably not actually that helpful, but just like in real life, you often can't force these things without it looking a bit desperate, so the best I can suggest is to take it slowly and see how it goes.)

I am thinking now that if the bbeg finds that out to send a female assassin agaisnt the striaght guy pc now. Are you checking her out. Ok give me a perception check and a sense motive check.
Although brawlers would be hard to kill this way same with monks.
Although this would detect as evil if someone was playing a paladin of arshea.
