Go outside and shovel the driveway enough to get the car out and get to work, cursing the other drivers all the way.

Adulting sucks.

Bah, humbug!

Freehold, you can have all of Pittsburgh's snow as well. Please come and get it. No really, please.

As a practical matter, normally when I go to work, I would take one bus and walk down a hill. But with this amount of snow, that would be dangerous, and I already twisted an ankle last week, without snow. Today, I'll have to take a bus into downtown and get a connecting bus that avoids the hill.

*sigh* Winter, yay.

Jackson MI is deep in Trump country, so it's really an amazing win.

Now we're looking for someone to dispel the curse on the council people. ;-)

As much as I preach education and tolerance over violence on these boards, it is incredibly hard to keep a level head when somebody is personally insulting you, your friends, and impersonally insulting Muslims and LGBT people.

Which is why I'm typing this from lunch detention.

At least I managed to stop myself from punching him and restrained myself to a slap to the back of the head.

Take a deep breath, Doomkitty. Deep breath.

And get a punching bag for home workouts. I've a feeling we will all need one soon.

I have one at work. Not sure if using it is helping or exacerbating.

Been in the same boat with family members - unfortunately, they are the type that would hit back with far more force and violence than I would have used had I actually hit them. Fortunately, as an adult, I can avoid them now (something I couldn't do as a child).

And, as Rysky said, stay awesome.

And your office would probably get upset if you painted a cheeto on it before working out.

Scarab Sages

Stay strong, Doomkitten. Things like that happen to the best somewhat decent of us (the only time I got in a fight that was not about defending myself or somebody else from physical violence was me going boom when some friendly neighbourhood nazi showerd a friend of mine who had the audacity to have a different colored skin, with insults until she broke into tears...)

Yes, yes it is. I've been struggling with this, and I've decided (for me) it is better to be alive and angry all the time, than alive and afraid all the time, or dead.

It's because internet trolling has invaded the real world, and the real world actually has consequences.

We could use more snow in my part of the world too.

Sigh.

It’s been a while since I’ve posted in this thread; school’s been really busy, but I thought I’d vent, if I might. Along with other things, I’ve been slowly getting the required documents together for a clinic specializing in trans health back home, and it’s the death of a thousand (paper) cuts: the post lost my hard copies in the mail, and apparently rather than trusting my endocrinologist, the clinic needs a copy of my prescriptions directly from my pharmacist, and so forth…

At the same time, I can’t really complain. I’m in a good place overall, for now, and my heart goes out to the American folks here. Bits and pieces are coming together for me, frustrations aside, and I have the luxury of stepping away from the news of what’s going on down south.

So I guess, since I’m not a huggy person, maybe we can do that whole wallflower-y thing of shy smiles and awkward nods? Anyway, I hope what’s good in the lives of all the folks here gets a little bit better, and what’s bad gets gone, as the song goes.
