They are psychic giant ants from the planet Castrovel, based on Venusian aliens from several science fiction stories from the 20s by an author named Ralph Milne Farley.
As Pathfinder currently lacks the appropriate rules to handle them, we're holding off on presenting them officially until we can do it correctly.
And also, you know, ant people. It takes some work to make them really compelling, and part of that is reading the original stories to see why they clicked in the first place.
In the meantime, their 3.5 statistics are pretty widely available.

So is there a distinction between those native to Axis versus those on the material plane? Cosmological implications, and because I obsess over nitpicky planar details. ;)

Or, you know, their third-party Pathfinder conversion.
If you want to have them be native of another planet, rather than another plane, just make them native outsiders.

That's not something we're ready to figure out... but since there are humans on the Material Plane and humans on the outer planes... I'm not too worried about it.
But as Erik mentions... when we DO do something with them... they'll be cast much more as psychic aliens than outsiders. As we did with inevitiables and ropers, there's a very very very good chance that when we DO convert them, their monster type will be changing from outsider to monstrous humanoid or perhaps aberration or something like that.

I am so sorry, but somehow reading the subject line and being a bit sleepy and dopey got this through my head...
A summary of this thread in song...
Isn't it odd?
Aren't there some beasts
Who are man-sized versions of bugs who love picnic feasts?
Where are the ants?
They're in Paizo books
Yes, even a few
But I can't find any statistics, how about you?
Where are the ants?
Send in the ants...
