Thanks, Chris.

It came when I finished GMing the "Echoes of Everwar" series this past weekend.

Almost all of the first 100 games have been for low-tier or mid-tier scenarios. I'm trying to develop my skills GMing parties above 8th level. I'm actively soliciting advice an opinions about effective high-tier GMing.

The Exchange 3/5

Awesome.

Someday I hope to be judged by you, Chris. It would be an honor.

Is it really a 4th star or is it a reskinned animal companion? ;-)

Thanks, Jason.

Hey! Have we gamed together? I lived in Eagan (just off Yankee Doodle) for about 8 years, before I moved back to Iowa.

Way to go Chris! Someday I'll have my first star... "Someday" being when a couple of events get reported...

Well done Chris, now get back to work! No resting on your laurels until you get another 50 sessions reported ;)

Congrats Chris.

Dark Archive 4/5

For his 99th game, Chris actually wrote and sang a song as part of the flavor of the scenario. I still have it stuck in my head. Chris, I feel you should post it!

"Welcome to Whistledown..."

Congrats Chris. This is big :)

Okay. The scenario in question was Echoes of Everwar III. I wanted to give it a light-hearted feel, to contrast with Echoes IV later that day.

The Gnomes' Song:

And one way to do that was to have the gnomes of Whistledown sing a happy litle song when the heroes agree to go see what's been eating villagers at night.

Refrain: (Chords in parentheses)
(C) Welcome to (G) Whistledown (F) Have a drink and (C) sit you down!
You (F) know you're always (C) welcome in our (G7) homes!
(C) Raise a cry (G) throughout the town (F) unhappy strangers (C) can't be found!
It's (F) all the (G7) hospitality of (C) gnomes!

Verse:
We'll (C) feast you well, and (F) that's a fact! "Here, (G) have a priceless (C) artifact!"
We're (C) not exactly (F) sure what it can (G7) do.
And (C) since you'll fight the (F) fiends bizarre "To (G) save my son (C) Aathordigar"
(C) It's the least that (G7) we can do for (C) you.

Welcome to Whistledown, soft as a thistledown!
You know I've got a spare bed in my home!
Raise a cry throughout the town, ...

"I see that weapon in your sheathe" "that doughty bow" "those snarling teeth!"
They all say you're the right folk for a fight!
We beg you, lords! We're on our knees. We ask you all to heed our pleas
To save us from the terrors of the night.

Welcome to Whistledown, happy carefree Whistledown!
"I've got a lovely daughter back at home." (*gasp* "Daddy! Well, that one's kind of cute.")
Raise a cry throughout ...

( a gloomy gnome comes forward, finishing his sour beer.)
I think that if you take this bait, you'll surely share the grisly fate
Of all the gnomes who've perished in the dark.
I'd rather go throw in the towel that watch the monsters disembowel
me. "There goes my arm." I bet that leaves a mark.

(Cm) Welcome to (Gm) Whistledown, (Fm) happy, carefree (Cm) Whistledown.
"The (Fm) sun is setting." (Cm) Time to bar the (G7) doors.
(Cm) We're all glad you've (GM) come around, but (Fm) now it's time we (Cm) went to ground.
If (FM) morning finds you (G) 'live, what's ours is (Cm) yours."

Congrats. I've only a few under my belt. That said, I love GMing for children. :-)

Unfortunately not, I have been in eagan since early 2000, have been in love with pen and paper gaming, but never really got in to the action until a year or two back with the twin cities pathfinder society. As we are still practically neighbors, I am sure the opportunity to play together will come up again :)

Congrats, and I too am looking forward to PretzCon. I want to make sure to catch at least one game with you assuming I'm not GMing all those slots. What's your schedule there?

Playing We Be Goblins! with you GMing at Gamicon Phi was an absolute blast btw!
