Cost of a building

Rules Questions

Sovereign Court

Does anyone know where I can locate the price of a building in Gold in any of the rule books, supplements or AP's.

Our DM is running a game and in the year off (player time) my character wants to build a nice inn... err brothel... errr Temple for Calistria her goddess and I am trying to figure out what she can spend in her treasure to do this.

Thank you

Scarab Sages

you could dredge up an old copy of stronghold builder's guidebook, but the prices in there make it very unrealistic for folks that are not high level adventurers to live in anything but mud walled shanty's. SBG prices are around 100K for a small, 3-4 room inn with a kitchen, bar area, and below grade (underground) storage.

The last place that I recall seeing building costs was in the 3.5 DMGII in the section on owning/operating a business.

There have not been such prices in Pathfinder RPG rulebooks to date, that I am aware of.

In some of the (3.5 rules) Golarion-based Campaign Guides (such as Guide to Korvosa, Guide to Darkmoon Vale, and Guide to Absolom), there are prices. The prices there vary significantly.. even by neighborhood within a city.

While expensive, its nowhere near that expensive. Unless you go for all luxury components (but thats far from your typical inn).

Quote:

Inn: This traveler’s inn has all you need to host up to twenty guests and a dozen mounts.

Components: Basic tavern, basic stables (2), basic bedrooms (10), fancy kitchen, servants’ quarters, basic storage; Size: 16 stronghold spaces; Cost: 13,050 gp.
Staff: Cooks (2), grooms (2), servants (2); Upkeep: 21 gp per month.
