Help with Scenario #29 Shipyard Rats [Spoilers]

Sovereign Court 4/5

Hello, actually I'm running this scenario in PbP.

In this scenario, two of the baddies are clerics of Groetus (a CN god), but both of them are NE. How is this possible? Should I change their alignments to CE?

I'm supposed to run the scenario as written but...

Is it going to matter for your group? Are they detecting for chaos? Does someone have Smite Chaos or an axiomatic weapon? If not, it's a detail I probably wouldn't worry much about.

Silver Crusade 4/5

D'oh!!! I've been prepping this adventure to run soon, too, and I hadn't caught this. For some reason, I was thinking the god was CE, not CN. Must be all the undead and talk about the end of the world.

Given that one of the PCs who might go through the adventure is a paladin hellknight who likes to smite both evil and chaos, this is relevant. I think I'll switch these NPCs to CE when I run it, just in case, though she's likely to assume they're evil before chaotic, so it might not matter anyway.

Silver Crusade 5/5

Never realized it myself. I've run the series a couple times. No one has asked, and or questioned this. Just treat them as a weird sub-sect of groetus. He is after all CN. So, him being evil in one area of the world may fit his overall lack of coherent scheme. At the least it'll prove an interesting question if someone asks.

Compared to the clerics wearing heavy armor without Heavy Armor Proficiency, that's a pretty small glitch. :-)

I have pondered this very same character concept soo many times now, but I just can't figure out a way to make it work ;)

I thought about it, too. My take was a cheerful, make-the-best-of-it attitude. "Hey, it's only the end of the world. At least it's not Monday, right? I hate Mondays!"
