Pathfinder society will have a strong presence at the UK's largest game convention UK Games Expo Birmingham.

Pathfinder Society scenarios are being posted to the booking system games page and include upcoming season 3 scenarios such as:

Note the booking system will go live to accept player bookings in early April.

Dark Archive 4/5

Booking system is now online.

And one Pathfinder Society table is already full...

Though there are only 18 PFS tables online at present. That will increase significantly.

yeah am awaiting 4 more slots for me to get approved as i was very slow of the mark this year!!!

Silver Crusade 3/5

Having an awful load of difficulty paying for tickets due to their sucky website. I have already missed out on one table...

Grand Lodge 5/5 ****

I still have to sort out myself - but would like to present the Cyphermage Dilemma.

So if you missed a slot - I will post here once I know my timetable.

Silver Crusade 3/5

Hey Thod. 4 stars! When did that happen?

Silver Crusade 3/5

Make that 3 tables I have missed out on.

This sucks.

I have problems with their system from an organiser point of view and a player point of view. It may be that we have to work things out ourselves within their system so do not despair!

One mod at a time is rocketing along compared to the rest of us. I still haven't had anything approved. (They must be doing extensive background checks on each GM!)

ah, thats ok then!!!

Your Games

The Mountains of Mirkwood - The One Ring - Approved

Pathfinder Society Scenario #3-05: Tide of Twilight - Approved

Pathfinder Society Scenario #3-08: Among the Gods - Approved

Pathfinder Society Scenario #3-10: The Immortal Conundrum - Approved

Pathfinder Society Scenario #3-17: Red Harvest - Approved

wahoo....just hope there people still want games to sign up to!!

The Exchange 5/5 Regional Venture-Coordinator, Mediterranean

Games Expo are actually running out of space, which is why there's been such a delay in approving games. There's definitely the demand there so people will be signing up.

Dark Archive 4/5

Looking at the stats:

All game systems:
2011: 150 tables on offer at close of prebooking
2012: 131 tables on offer already

PFS:
2011: 39 tables on offer at close of prebooking
2012: 23 tables on offer already

PFS:
2011: 31 tables filled by close of prebooking (3 or more players)
2012: 15 tables filled already (3 or more players)

Table Profile by slot:
2011 prefilled : Fri 2 4 4 / Sat 7 3 5 / Sun 4 2
2012 available: Fri 3 5 1 / Sat 5 3 3 / Sun 1 0

Looks like we are down 12 tables before we account for growth and seats sold at the convention. At a minimum we could do with more coverage of Friday evening, Saturday morning, Saturday evening, and both Sunday slots.

I've signed up for only 2 PFS games..Heresy of Man pts 2&3 on the Saturday

Playing Gamma World on Friday Morning, Paranoia in the evening, Savage Worlds on Sunday and The Regiment on Sunday Evening

no PFS sunday morning yet...was hoping to just play on sunday rather than run!

although dave is running it is part 3 of something i havent done 1+2 of yet!1

There are more PFS games submitted but they are currently looking at re-arranging to get more space. If there is interest I can run some older scenarios, the other 2 parts of that 3 parter, etc.

As I'm running these, just wondering have you played Part 1?

:)

I played part one at Games Expo last year..my fighter is 7th level so I can play up or down if required.

Great :) I just wanted to check you werent going to miss out on part 1.

Silver Crusade 3/5

I was going to run Crypt of the Everflame on the Friday but I got an email from the organiser to basically say he couldn't find me a table to run it...

This makes me a Sad Panda.

I have asked them to try and get some more space arranged. Hopefully will get something sorted in the next few weeks. They've been overwhelmed by the amount of Pathfinder to be honest.

Just been to the UK Games Expo site and nearly all the places are already gone.

I was hoping to bring my son down to play as we did Pathfinder last year. We would obviously like to play on the same table and only have a 3rd and 1st level characters, so we're limited on the scenarios we can play.

Do you know if there will be any more games for Pathfinder available?

There are other GMs and other games that we want to run. At present there's a limit as to the space we have. The Expo team are working on it. If I haven't heard anything back from them by the end of this week I will start prodding them. I certainly intend to be running more (low level) scenarios.

I wonder if i should change some of my higher level offers on saturday to be level 1-5 for casual players

perhaps i could do #3-05: Tide of Twilight on sat am, and another 1-5 on sat afternoon

I ran all day to younglings last year so may well have been the GM to the chap above

I think you are more likely to get lower level and starting characters at the Games Expo. Tide of Twilight would work well.

Thanks very much for the info and response, I will keep my eye on this board. To be honest we will only be coming to Games Expo if we can play pathfinder at least twice :)

Cheers

ok. the expo chaps have said its ok to swap.

aside from the ultra high level one which is full, I will swap out the others for 1-5. Never dawned on me, which I should really run 1-5 on premium days. Something to note for next time

I'll make sure the Expo people know that.

Hi John

Can you post on here when they have updated the events / role playing bookings section on the web site and I will go and book.

Cheers

Tony

Booked for 2 adventures on Saturday, thank you :)

Dark Archive 4/5

I added a table of Icebound Outpost in each of the Friday evening and Sunday afternoon slots. [submitted and approved in half a day!]

Only 37 seats are available across the entire weekend with 14 out of 30 tables sold out and many more with only 1 or 2 seats left.

Book Here

The remaining seats are currently available in:

  • First Steps Pt 1: In Service to Lore
  • First Steps Pt 2: To Delve the Dungeon Deep
  • First Steps Pt 3: A Vision of Betrayal
  • We be Goblins

  • Slave Pits of Absalom
  • City of Strangers Pt I: The Shadow Gambit
  • The Heresy of Man—Part II: Where Dark Things Sleep
  • The Heresy of Man—Part III: Beneath Forgotten Sands

  • The Frostfur Captives
  • Tide of Twilight
  • Echoes of the Overwatched
  • The Icebound Outpost

Trains in the West Midlands did not cope well with the relatively extreme rain we had here recently. Cancellations, rail replacement bus services, etc, etc. (Possibly due to one line running adjacent to a canal for a stretch...)
Ah well, maybe it will all be fixed by the end of May...

Dark Archive 4/5

With a week to go pre-booking has closed. At close of pre-booking there are 30 tables of Pathfinder Society on offer with 19 sold out.

Only 25 seats are available to buy at the con - in the following scenarios:

  • First Steps Pt 1: In Service to Lore
  • First Steps Pt 2: To Delve the Dungeon
  • First Steps Pt 3: A Vision of Betrayal
  • The Icebound Outpost
  • City of Strangers Pt I: The Shadow Gambit
  • We be Goblins
  • The Heresy of Man—Part II: Where Dark Things Sleep
  • Echoes of the Overwatched
  • Slave Pits of Absalom

Interesting stats:

Stats:

Pathfinder Society accounts for exactly 25% of all RPG seats sold at UK Games Expo (150 out of 600).

Total D&D seats sold is 44% of all RPGs - including all variants of D&D (LFR, 4E, PFS and non-PFS Pathfinder)

Pre-Bookings overall are up 20% on last year though PFS pre-bookings are down 16% and PFS offered tables are down 30%. Mainly because we had table submissions blocked after the convention ran out of physical tables in most slots.

There is an unexpected peak of bookings on Friday afternoon, which wasn't seen last year, so I expect many new players in that slot.

PFS seats pre-sold by slot are: Fri: 14/33/11 Sat:26/24/20 Sun:18/4

See you on Friday.

Well it now looks as if I won't be there..We can't get Child care for my daughter and my wife is working nights..

I'm £72 out off pocket now because my hotel was no refund and I can't get the Games Expo E-mail client to download in order to cancel.

To say I'm annoyed is putting it mildly.

See you guys at Paizo con in July.

Silver Crusade 3/5

My wife and I have managed to get onto precisely 1 game. As I see it there will be a lot of boardgames played next week.

Sigh...

The Exchange 5/5 Regional Venture-Coordinator, Mediterranean

Must admit that I have found UK Games Expo more awkward to sort out this year from a GMing prespective. Partially it's because I've had limited internet access but also their systems don't seem to be running smoothly.

My apologies to everyone who can't make it (Wellard, see you at PaizoCon UK I hope) or who couldn't get as many games as they wanted. I hope we can maybe sort something out at the event itself.

Dark Archive 4/5

Given how tight we are for seats - if anyone who has pre-booked cannot make it - please can they let us know so that we can plan for it and let others play.

Thanks

I'm living in hope that my Mrs will just say go...but won't know for sure till Wednesday..

Sighs....It isn't going to happen..I'm out guys, which means that there will be a space free in the Saturday slots for Heresy of Man Part 2 and 3

Thank you to all the GMs who ran games. You guys are the best!
Thanks to all the players (old and new) who come along to play Pathfinder Society. I hope you all had a great time and managed to play enough games.

I was lucky enough to play in three of the slots over the weekend. Really enjoyable. Thanks to all the GM's for the huge amount of fun that was had.

I always walk away from these conventions feeling inspired and that I have to "up my game" back home, because it's Pathfinder and standards have to be maintained. I just want my players to have as much fun as I did playing these modules.

Thanks Dave, and all your crew. They truly are the best. Inspirational.
Bring on PaizoCon!

Scarab Sages 3/5

PS - Dave - what map where you using for your Defenders of Nesting Swallow? It looked so perfect for the module! Want one!

I hope everyone had fun..thankfully Paizo Con will not bring the same troubles my way as the Mrs is on holiday that week herself..

It was a village map that came with an issue of Dragon. I'll check out the issue number.

Hi all,
I've now had a chance to recover from GM'ing at Games Expo and would like to say a few things.
To me Games Expo has a different feel to it from many other conventions due to its great diversity, and because of that it can be the most difficult for a GM to cater for. I cant think of any other convention where so many new players come and try a system out so every game run could have veteran players or completely new players or as is usual a mix where those familiar help the new.
And don't get me started on the age range it just goes to show it's open to all ages.
As long as every player goes away from the table happy with some fun memory then we've done our part so to all the GM's who encourage the generations of players keep up all the good work, and I'll see you at the next convention.

Russ
ps. thanks to all my players I had a blast.
