Energy resistance vs. non-lethal damage

Rules Questions

Simple question, but I can't find the answer: In extremely hot conditions, creatures must make fortitude saving throws, or they take non-lethal damage and start suffering from heatstroke (fatigue condition).

If a creature has fire resistance points, like from Protection from Energy or a ring of fire resistance, does it protect against this?

As long as i can tell, strictly by raw no, they are normal non-lethal damage. In my opinion, a fair rule would be to associate to them an elemental subtype of damage. So, hot environment deal non-lethal fire damage, and so forth.

Sovereign Court

Well your not taking fire damage so those items and spells shouldn't really come into play. If your the GM and you want it to, then that's your choice.

Now the spell Endure Elements is specifically tailored to handle those kinds of conditions.
