Welcome SaltLik Keyoath!!!
Our newest and most special member (:
Thank you Black for the warm welcome (;
SaltLik = BlackUhuru
I see what you did there, you're talking to yourself. You sneaky guy...
Blaeringr wrote: I see what you did there, you're talking to yourself. A useful trick for a Roleplayer, being able to play one character talking to another.
Very, very sneaky. I would have never noticed it ;)
Not sure what you people are talking about but if anyone gets the chance could I get access to the company forums please.
No problem SaltLik sorry about that we will get on it asap.
When you get forum privileges feel free to jump in to some of the forum tavern RP and company discussion, we would love your input!!
You two have too much time on your hands...;)
We're in this for the long haul, and there are going to be new people joining these forums that we'll want to reach out to. I'll be bumping this thread once a week if there hasn't been any activity.
Do you mind if I ask what time zone ya'll are going to be operating in?
I live in the USA, myself, so cst is mine.
I'm EDT (Z-4) right now, but I have a cycling work schedule between evenings and mornings. I know we have a few international members, and we will try to avoid any deserted members or times.
I'm CST also, but we're almost certainly going to have enough of an international presence to have around-the-clock activity.
NZST here. I imagine the core of us will be US though (just means I can play family friendly hours and play with all the US hardcore late night gamers).
So far we have members from the US, NZ, Spain and Northern Ireland...
You'll probably notice me say "y'all" every once in a while, too :)
I'm PST but we will definitely have an internation presence.
I will soon be founding a company based on the protection of the innocent and the promotion of righteous causes. I want to prepare the website and Teamspeak before I post full details since I won't be able to go back in and edit in their addresses later but I want them more presentable before posting them.
My company was originally supposed to include an academy very similar to The Seventh Veil.
Since I have discovered your existence though... that would be redundant. Instead I would like to offer your our support. We will have military assets ready should your organization come under threat. I would be open to working together extremely closely to the extent of sharing settlements and even possibly the same Teamspeak. (Its sitting empty at the moment and can hold up to 50 people. Might as well put it to good use!)
Whatever the case consider us a friend of knowledge and those who would expand and share it.
@Andius, it's an honor.
If you missed it, please check out our post on Diplomatic Outreach.
Very cool. Looking forward to seeing you guys in game.

@Andius, that sounds lovely. And just because we're making a library doesn't mean you can't start up a military academy of some kind.

Haha! Making a video game is like having a kid. It definitely makes you anxious.
Mark Kalmes wrote: Haha! Making a video game is like having a kid. It definitely makes you anxious. Haha, I bet! So does this mean that all devs have a favorite "child" (game) or do they try to mantain fairness OR do you favor the one your "working" on? ;) -nudge, nudge, wink, wink-
Still looking forward to being in the game and hopefully seeing you there too!
Andius, it's a pleasure to meet you! I'm looking forward to getting to know you and working with each other!

Yeah, I think your favorite is always the one you're working on. Also, this one I'll be in charge of :-)
So, it's like the difference between being around your sister's kids, and then having a kid of your own. I can relate to that :)
As can I! :)
Anyhow, we are happy to annouce the beginning of Diplomatic Relations between the Caeruxi and The Great Legionnaires! Hear, Hear to a long friendship!
So the question would be: Is there a relation to the "actual" Seventh Veil, Sivanah? Or was it just a coincidence that your name and her title are the same?
The chartered company, 'The Seventh Veil', believe that our worship of Sivanah properly takes the form of collecting and disseminating knowledge. We also include worshipers of other gods, such as Irori, who believe that their piety is compatible, as well as people who wish to join for secular reasons, provided that their motivations and goals are compatible.
entropyrat wrote: So the question would be: Is there a relation to the "actual" Seventh Veil, Sivanah? Or was it just a coincidence that your name and her title are the same? Not a coincidence at all. The essence of the Company itself, as well as the name, are both heavily influenced by Sivanah.
We are indeed heavily influenced by Sivanah, however, we allow all types of worship (or not worship) as long as your goals are similar to that of the guild. My character, for example, worships Irori and not Sivanah.
Right, we are not a church of Sivanah, our foundational philosophy is that we perceive the world as an illusion, we collect knowledge to peel back the layers of the illusion, which has the effect of revealing ever greater mysteries. Sivanah, being the goddess of Mystery and Illusion, holds a special place in our endeavours, but not necessarily that of being our universal deity. Any guidance we can glean from her only helps our efforts.
To the best of my knowledge, Sivanah does not teach or believe that all of the universe is an illusion...or maybe she does...(I have not been able to find exactly what her followers do believe).
Perfect, I was hoping there would be a link here. My main Pathfinder PC is a gnome Magus of Sivanah and I'm planning on bringing him into PFO as my main. I'll go ahead and check out your website then.

You know, I just realized something. The Caeruxi organization is officially ONE MONTH old!!!
Looking forward to seeing you (hopefully) in the forums, Entropyrat!
We'd like to officially welcome Misere Black into our company!
There are several new Projects we could use help from our members on at our forums. If you haven't checked in for a while, I encourage you to do so.
And I'd also like to remind everyone that, if you're planning on making your own Company in PFO, we'd like to open Diplomatic channels with you, and we have space on our forums you can use to organize your own Company if you're not ready to try to set up your own just yet.
Several of the founders of The Seventh Veil have put up guild applications so that members can learn more about them.
If you'd like to learn more about our leadership, come check out our forums!
Just a weekly reminder that The Seventh Veil is organizing. Please read the posts at the beginning of this thread, or check us out at our forums.
If anyone has experience running Pathfinder games using MapTool, and is willing to let me pick your brain, please send me a PM.
Alliances... how nice. I'm sure everything will be gnomes and faefolk... all the way up until someone commissions an asset aquisition or target elimination.
The local sellsword/rogue organization have a very tempting way of settling disagreements.
Obakararuir wrote: Alliances... how nice. That was the only post in this thread where the word "alliance" appeared.
You'll note that what we're talking about is "Diplomatic Outreach" or "Diplomatic Channels".
It's not clear what the point of your post was, although it sounded vaguely threatening. At any rate, we are not naive.
Not a threat...not from him, in any case.
Guild drama happens. No matter how many promises a guild makes against it, it still happens. All he's asking is whether it will be you, or a former friend who will be hiring the assassins, the mercenaries, the bandits, the spies, etc.
Lot's of players will be trying to get along just fine. Others will be ready to clean up the mess when that first group doesnt get along and make sure a victor emerges quickly, efficiently, and ruthlessly.
Some pursue drama. Some let it bead up and roll off of them like rain off a well-waxed car.
Nihimon wrote: Some pursue drama. Some let it bead up and roll off of them like rain off a well-waxed car. And some insist it will never affect them. I don't mean it as an insult, but look at the history of these forums. The strongest deniers of drama have a record of being strongly provoked. You know what I'm talking about ;)

al·li·ance / əˈlīəns / Noun: 1. A union or association formed for mutual benefit, esp. between countries or organizations.
If not for mutual benefit then why the Diplomatic Outreach?
As far as my threats are concerned, they are bold, distinct, and unambigious. If I threaten you, you will know it.
My point ussta abbil is that there are those who deal in the other less diplomatic forms of resolution when things seem no longer mutually beneficial.

Oh sounds fun!! You should apply to the Seventh Veil...
