Come join us for 3 days of PFS goodness at the Carbondale Civic Center, April 13-15!
Egypt Wars 3 is Carbondale's annual spring three day gaming conventions, this year featuring over one hundred tables of gaming events, including Magic the Gathering, Dungeons & Dragons (assorted editions), Warhammer 40,000 and Warhammer Fantasy Battle, Pathfinder Society, Yu Gi Oh, Pokemon, Settlers of Catan Pre-qualifier for the World Championships, and much more.
Pre-registration is $25 for adults and $13 for ages 7 to 11 (6 and under are free when accompanied by a paid parent or guardian). Pre-registration will close approximately April 10th. *There is no event fee for playing PFS events. All you need to pay is the registration to get in the door. For other events, there may be event fees, but I'm not entirely sure.*
The convention, located at the Carbondale Civic Center, offers free parking, and is only a short distance from a large selection of restaurants and hotels. *Get a discount on your room rate at Carbondale Super 8 motel if you mention Egypt Wars.*
Over the weekend we will be running at least 25 tables worth of PFS events, maybe adding more if pre-registration begins to fill up fast. Included among the 25 tables, we will be offering the First Steps series, We Be Goblins!, The Masks of the Living God (module), and two tables of the 2012 4-star GM special, The Cyphermage Dilemma!
You can pre-register to attend on Warhorn
While we currently have all current slots set with GMs, if we expand to include more tables, we may need more volunteers. Volunteer to GM 3 slots, and you can get your weekend pass for free. Only coming down for the one day? Volunteer to GM 2 slots, and you can get your day pass for free. *Comment here that you would be willing to GM, and when, and I’ll send you a PM if anything opens up.*
If you have any questions, feel free to contact email me at southernillinois.pfs@gmail.com.
Hope to see you there!

Back from Egypt Wars! I'll let Seth publish the official data, but seemed like we had a lot more gaming than reported in previous years.
I had a blast playing my Tian Monk who has now moved from being merely an experiment with a class/feat build to a fully-functional PC with a personality, a role, and a progression plan.
I was great to put some faces to forum avatars and meet new, passionate players from southern Illinois. Just wish I could hang out with you folks more often.
Special thanks to Seth (aka godsDMit) for organizing the PFS events. I didn't notice anyone getting turned away and nearly all the tables were full, especially on Saturday.
Also, a thank you to Chris Mortika, aka Chris Mortika :), for making the drive down from Iowa and GM'ing seven tables for us.
Finally, and most importantly, thanks to the players and GM's (Kristen, Catherine, Carl, Amanda, Chris, Joshua, Kieren, Jared, John, and soo many others who's names escape me) for making this event awesome. Looking forward to next year and hoping that it can continue growing.

I had a blast at Egypt Wars!
So many fun experiences and great role playing for my bard. I lost my cleric to ghasts and even that was a good time. Thanks for setting this up Seth! Was great to meet all the wonderful people down in southern Illinois it was totally worth the 4 hours drive!
Everyone of my GM's there were wonderful and I hope to be sitting at one of your tables again soon.

Thanks for the kind words guys. We really enjoyed having you down, too.
By my estimation, I believe we had 29 tables run, with somewhere near 30 different players, and a total of 130+ players sitting on games over the course of the weekend.
Many thanks to Bob for getting us the scenarios to run and prizes to give out. A huge thank you for Chris Mortika for driving so far to GM in all seven slots he was there for. Thanks to the other GMs who helped over the weekend, and thank you to anyone who drove to come and play with us. You are all welcome back any time.
We'll be having another con, this one called 'Little Egypt Wars', sometime in September, though that one will just be a Saturday instead of a whole weekend, so keep an eye out for that.
