First: Stay after the credits.
ATTEMPTED NOT-SPOILAGE WHY YOU MAY NOT WANT TO DO SO:
Man this had to be a tough shoot for Liam Neeson.
The movie isn't really advertised accurately, but it's still worth checking out even if you want the movie that the trailers promise.(which, honestly, would probably still be money well spent)

I wanted to like this movie, but every decision Liam Neeson's character made was wrong, wrong, wrong. He's a helluva sniper, but he's a craptacular survivalist. My reaction to him wanting to leave the wreckage?
"Okay. Good luck. I'll stay and make the shelter defensible. Dumbass."Foghammer |

But his character in the movie isn't a survivalist like Bear Grylls or some other similar person; he's just the guy who knows how wolves think. He's resourceful, and that helps him follow through with his actions, but I agree that just about every decision was wrong.
