I learned that being an undead rogue with natural attacks is awesome (sadly it only lasts one session)

I also learned that my level 1 paladin with heavy armor doesnt like getting jumped while resting (go AC 12 tank)

I've learned that you can never be sure if your players are going to kill everything in front of them, or make them into pets. I've had a bit of both tonight.

Today I learned that color spray is a low-level wizard's best friend, but not so for the party's dwarf monk.

RPG Superstar 2014 Top 32

I learned that Alchemists don't play well with a melee-heavy group.

I learned that most problems can be solved by dropping a shark on them.

I learned that you cant punch a ghost, you cant hurt a ghost and you cant strangle a ghost. and if you decide to rest in a abandoned building be aware that you will be ghost murdered.

That you can never have enough Doritos at the game table.

Today I learned that if your party fails enough diplomacy checks, they stop caring about NPCs of moderate importance.

Nope, I didn't play Pathfinder today (I wish I did ;-;).

However, I do have further proof from Avatar: The Last Airbender (the show) that Witches are indeed scary :S

So are YOU the guy that let loose the sharks that killed our npc pregen cleric in a manner most tragic?

After someone's suggestion, I'm starting to think anyone that mostly uses medium or heavy armor should carry light armor pajamas. Heck, maybe even the casters should too.

I learned that when I play a sorcerer I tend to make the GM hate me by breaking the game with 0-level spells. Especially when the GM wants us to go into the sewers to chase the bad guy and not use acid splash and ray of frost to seal the sewers shut. Using the snap dragon fireworks at random saves an entire town from the zombies by waking them up, and using spark on a storehouse of gunpowder being used by the bad guys causes major derailing of the plot.

As long as your good friends with the gm taunting them does not make you dead. It makes the game more... interesting. CONGRATS A CR 8 DRAGON JUST DROPPED ON YOUR LEVEL 3 TEAM. crit. that was fun :)

As long as you understand that a literal reading of most cantrips does not result in outcomes like yours. Yes, spark will do what it did, but acid splash and ray of frost to seal something shut? Nope, that's not what the spell does.

A few years back I learned that when you are attacked by chuuls, there actually is limit to the number of times your party will tolerate you singing "Me and Chuulio down by the schoolyard. "

This past Sunday I learned that I can live with my sword and board half Orc barbarian wielding a rapier. Its actually kind of cool, like a skewer.

If you nearly one-hit a monster dealing tons of damage with a full attack including a crit it can still kill you with the 3 hp it has left if it too hits with every attack including a crit.

Never have your BBEG enter into a duel of public opinion with a bard.

Players: This is a minor spoiler for "Crown of Fangs" in Curse of the Crimson Throne, so read at your own risk. I'm trying to keep the spoilage minimal, but it does reveal one extremely minor plot point you may not want to know about.

Curse of the Crimson Throne Spoiler:

In CoF, a BBEG has hired a bunch of goons to pretend to be bad guys so he can sway public opinion in his favor. The party found, captured, and questioned a set of said goons and learned where the next 'ambush' was going to be (the goons would ambush merchants, nobles, and innocent city folk, and BBEG would 'rescue' them with great fanfare).

First sign of trouble: Some of the goons who were supposed to show up at the ambush aren't there.

Second sign of trouble: Two strangers are, and are just hanging around the ambush site.

Third sign of trouble: When goons use acquired magic to banish one of the strangers, a gnome rogue pops out of nowhere and impales said goon quite lethally.

So BBEG starts hooting and hollering about murderous gnomes running loose in the street. Unfortunately, she was already back in hiding (a Shadow Dancer with +42 Stealth. Yes. That is NOT a typo. AND she'd crit her initiative roll just to make my life truly miserable). So people looking out the window just saw a bunch of guys milling around a dead body while BBEG bellowed about murderous gnomes.

Cue the bard. Ghost Sound and a bunch of voices from the windows, "Oy! There was no gnome! That man right there was the one as did it! What are you trying to pull!"

Rolling the bard's performance checks against BBEG's got really ugly, really fast, and his whole plot became a fiasco. Let's just say his popularity has waned a wee bit...
