This thread gets a lot of traffic and I only check it about once a day, so a PM is just fine.
Yes. And if it's something we think needs to be clarified (like, "we forgot to say your monster can't be a template")...
I was thinking about it, and I actually think "monster must be a template" would be a great twist. I think it'd take a lot of creativity to come up with a good template and while it may not involve quite as much rules knowledge as making a monster from scratch, it's not nothing either.

Whatever does happen, it's been a pleasure and a privilege competing in the Top 32. You're all great guys. It's felt like a real team effort to make this competition the special event that it is. I'm proud to be working alongside you all.

Yeah, I was pondering that myself. I'd figured that for oozes, it's that you can't really have many more variations of "big, carnivorous, amorphous blob." But then, think of the challenge!
And then dragons are... well, they're dragons. They tend to be very similar. And maybe constructs run the risk of getting "steam-punky." After you take out actual technology, all you have left is animated objects and statues. :p
Outsider... hmm... too broad of a category? You've got everything from hellhounds to angels. The outsider category is just a catch-all for things from other planes. It doesn't really help to describe a monster in terms of shape or ability. Also, being from another plane means it's not really connected to Golarion, specifically (never minding native outsiders like genies, which have a huge place in lore).
Those are my guesses. It'd be nice to have the options, but hey.
(Note: It seems that all of the subtypes are still available though, so if you wanted to use 'extraplanar' in lieu of 'outsider'...)

Ooze have quite a few holes to explore. I think you were on target for dragons, and outsiders. For constructs, with the expanded rules from the Ultimate Magic, there are more ways of upgrading them with hints of other options.
Congrats to those that made it, go sleep to those (like me) that did not.
When I was throwing around monster ideas I found a lot felt like they had to be outsiders and there are already a lot of outsiders, so my only monster that I stated out is a magical beast and it's more interesting because I had to make it somewhat realistic rather than just hand wave effects and abilities with 'it's an outsider'.

I had hoped to go a bit farther, but I honestly don't have an adventure idea. The closest thing I have is based on the organization I didn't submit....and probably should have.
Oh well. There's always next year.
Congratulations to the Top 16 and commiserations to the rest of the Top 32(34). I think it was mighty close (except for Sam and Russell, of course, who nailed round 2).
The twists mean I've thrown out most of my monster ideas. Bah! Three days of intense work coming up.
Yeah, I had to toss my main idea too: poor little [redacted]. I think I've come up with an alternate I'm pretty excited about, though. I want to get him/her/it/them statted up today and then see if I can get a good second or third option to finally pick from.

: ) Was working on my entry when my GSD/houndy girl -- who almost never plays with her toys -- pulled out a stuffed cow from her toy chest and started romping around with it. I think she wants me to create a cow-killing dog creature of some sort. I've told her I will call it a galumphing goof, in her honor. She's very excited and is sure it will propel me ... excuse me, us! ... to the finals. : )
{OK, she seems to have been appeased for a moment, so back to work until we have to go for a walk...)

Interestingly, I'm actually less upset than I anticipated. Probably for two reasons: one, my organization was a failure. I really didn't deserve to advanced based on what I produced. Two, I'm actually finding more solace than I expected in seeing the other two Jacobs advance. Vote Jacob 2012!
