Adventure Path in depth overviews?

Pathfinder Adventure Path General Discussion

Scarab Sages

Hello one and all, I am looking for some serious in depth overviews on the various PFRPG Adventure Paths, untainted per se by the various people who do or don't like them...something akin to a "this is how it runs, this is how many typical adventures you get out of it, this is what level the PCs start at and what level they end up at." sort of thing.

Any help?

Thanks!

There are lots of threads with mini reviews or overviews of the APs, but I'm not sure exactly what you mean by "how does it run?" Like, "It runs smoothly, little alteration needed?" Or "It is a sandbox investigation with a dungeon dive at the end?" Or something else entirely?

"How many typical adventures," is pretty much an impossible question. Groups vary too much. Do you hand the GM a magical item shopping list, or roleplay out every grocery run? Do you play for a couple of hours at a time, or 12 hour marathons? How quick are you with combat? It all wildly changes how long an adventure will take.

That said, about a year/path seems to be a common answer for home games. But I've seen people give answers of anywhere from a few months to several years.

The last one is pretty easy. You can go to the product pages for each volume and they will tell you what level a given adventure starts at. Since they are connected, the level you start each volume at is the same as the last one ended. Unless you just mean starting level and ending level of the whole path, in which case it is "Starting at 1, and ending at I'll-whip-up-a-list-if-this-is-what-you-mean."

Pathfinder Chronicles podcast will certainly help on a few of the APs. they take an adventure and do a very detailed review of it
