Hey folks,

When I was writing Frostfur Captives Mark suggested writing a Marching Song for the 'captives'. Space just didn't allow for it, but I sent it on anyway. I thought I would post it for kicks. Thanks to all the people who enjoyed the scenario, and for the great feedback that is helping me in future projects.

Frostfur Goblin Marching Song by Jim Groves and Derrick Thomas

Chorus:
Marching, Marching, all day long!
We Goblins sing this travel song,
and if you try to sing along,
We change the words, you get it wrong!

Verse One:
Longshanks, Longshanks, so big, so vile!
They make us walk so many miles!
Longshanks say not to worry, will not be harmed,
Stupid Longshanks know all the while
Death stalk us with a crooked smile!

Verse Two:
We miss our homes, so far away!
Longshanks have led us all astray!
Longshanks say not to worry, will not be harmed,
Poor goblins be the ones to pay,
Fewer of us by end of day!

Verse Three:
Longshanks, Longshanks should let us go!
We be Goblins, lowest of low.
Longshanks say not to worry, will not be harmed,
Till we get cut, and we get hacked,
and none of us will make it back!

Verse Four:
Tomorrow come, Longshanks still here,
Poor Goblins dread, try not to fear!
Longshanks say not to worry, will not be harmed,
They not hunted, chopped to bits.
We be anxious, chomp at bit.

Verse Five:
Horse we hate, they smell worse than dog,
We kill them both, and serve up like hog!
Longshanks say not to worry, will not be harmed,
Tell us we safe, they lie of course!
Longshanks,we think, stink worse than horse!

Verse Six:
Longshanks have weapons, keep us safe.
Goblins know better, we have no faith!
Longshanks say not to worry, will not be harmed,
Give us weapons and let us fight!
We vent our rage, and end our plight.

Amazing, simply Amazing. Now will you post a recording of you singing?

I started to write that I really don't have a singing voice, but unfortunately I have been told that I *do* have a radio DJ voice.

So instead of squeaky and goblin-like, it would probably come out like a bad lounge singer. You know? Like William Shatner singing Elton John.

;)

EDIT: "The loooove boat.. soon will be making anoth-ther run!!!"

Yeah. Paizo would probably send me a check NOT to.

:D

I wish I had this last November.

I can't wait to use this during Winter War this weekend.

I'm sure that this is not how you intended it, but now I want you to record a version even more!

I used the Goblin Song in "Rise of the Runelords: Burnt Offerings", but this song is better for the story and pretty awesome.

The song is long, I'd probably break the song up into 3 sections and use it 3 different times during the march.

Thanks for sharing and great job on the scenario.

Sorry Dan!

I sent it shortly after the turnover, and sort of forgot about it. I also wasn't sure of the boundaries for a freelancer. I didn't want to step on any toes. I consider the song to be Paizo Property- but again there was no room in the actual adventure for it.

Then I saw the "GM Only" boards it just struck me that it probably wouldn't hurt to post it. Its not self-promotion, but rather promotion of the adventure. I certainly hope that Mike and Mark didn't mind! Its sort of like my own unofficial "Web Extra" for the community.

Please come on back for the Haunting of Hinojai- it has a very different flavor and style, but I hope it gets into the minds of players and GMs alike.

Ah this is great, I'll probably be running Frostfur Captives tomorrow.

I think i can get squeaky and goblin-like down alright, if it all works out well the players, and everyone else at the store, should hate me a little after tomorrow

Have a good time! Let me know what they think!

There's also some good advice threads on these boards concerning some unintentional hiccups in the design. They're worth a look.

I really wish I'd had this when I GMed Frostfur captives.

That said, I had a half-orc barbarian PC who knocked out over half of the captives and threatened to eat them. Not sure how much singing they would have gotten done.
