Gang Up and flanking for ranged combat with rogues / ninjas

So, Gang Up says:

Prerequisites: Int 13, Combat Expertise.

Benefit: You are considered to be flanking an opponent if at least two of your allies are threatening that opponent, regardless of your actual positioning.

If my two buddies are threatening one or several opponents, are they considered flanked for ranged sneak attacks?

This would be pretty nice and a better alternative to Enfilading Fire Teamwork feat.

Nope. Flanking is explicitly melee only.

Yes i know, but in the feat the word melee doesn´t appear, also it says you are "considered" flanking, regardles of your actual positioning.

Besides this, a combination between three characters of whom at least two have enfilading fire and gang up might be nice with one using ranged attakcs with snap shot and improved snap shot.

You threaten 15 feet with improved snap shot.
So three rogues/ninjas with

Weapon Focus
Point Blank Shot
Rapid Shot
Snap Shot
Improved Snap Shot
Combat Expertise
Gang Up
Combat Reflexes

would be a real pain in the ass.
It would be level 12 untill then because of the +9 BAB requirement, but still nice.

Gang Up: Does this feat (page 161) allow you to flank a foe with ranged weapons?
The Gang Up feat allows you to count as flanking so long as two of your allies are threatening your opponent. The feat makes no mention of ranged attacks being included, and since flanking specifically refers to melee attacks, ranged attacks do not benefit from this feat. (JMB, 8/13/10)

It's not that you are not in flanking position, you are, it's that you're not making a melee attack, so it doesn't matter.

Flanking: "When making a melee attack..."

You threaten, and you can make AoOs with the ranged weapon, but you're still not making a melee attack, so you still get no bonus for flanking.

Enfilading Fire would work, since everyone threatens, so if everyone has Gang Up then the target would be flanked, you get a +2 bonus from EF but still no actual flanking bonus or sneak attack.
