Climbs on the deck of his Space Galley and takes sail through the sky.

That makes me think of A Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.
Makes me think of Come Sail Away by Styx.

It is amazing how easy it is to get that song stuck in your head. :)

To remember being a teen in the 80s. Now I sound like the guys bragging about the 60s, lol.

I'm saaailing away ..

The Exchange

I can picture the mage standing on the deck inside a runic circle, the blue glow covers the deck. Air flows gently across the bow while the crew members hold onto the riggings. Slowly it seems the ship rises in the air, while clouds wink by in the blink of an eye. A strange warm covers the vessel as all goes black and the crew looks upon their world in the distance as if it is but a small marble against a dark carpet.

Now will this suppliment have tips on creating interesting worlds? Or will you leave that for another expansion project?

I do plan to include tips and thoughts on creating new solar systems. If, for whatever reason, it needs to be cut for space, those guidelines will be available as a free web enhancement on CGP's website.

We should of course mention that Mike Welham of current RPG Superstar fame is working on this project. So it's worth the price of admission for that reason alone. :)

I agree. :D

Mike has also done some great work with Open Design, Rite Publishing, and Paizo. Along the Faerie Path from Clockwork Gnome Publishing features two of his monsters. He also worked on the Nowhere Dimension for that book.

Allen, I think a video and/or some sample art on the Kickstarter-page would help the project getting funded. Cheers!

I had intended to have art for the release, but there was a delay getting art back from the artist. So, I should have something soon to show. I really wish I could have had something sooner because I absolutely agree.

I saw a link to this Kickstarter project in the Distant Worlds product thread, and signed up. I'm a fan of Spelljammer from back in the day, and would love to see this produced.

Good luck!

39 hours to go, we might yet make it! Thinking about upgrading my pledge...

Change 4,362: $162 to go.

Upped my pledge up to Navigator, can't afford more. :( Now at $4488 - 22 to go.

Silver Crusade

Awesome!!!

Very nice. As someone who has an ongoing Spelljammer-Campaign (using HARP as the rules system), I am really looking forward to this.

Awesome. :D Gonna be a good time.

Things are busy around here as I get Morithal, Lord of Unceasing Hunger ready for release this week. More on that later.

But I really wanted to say thank you to everyone who supported the Sailing the Starlit Sea Kickstarter. Your support is greatly appreciated!

This is just amazing and exciting.

Liberty's Edge

I am really looking forward to this. I already have ideas for using some of the "Planes" from Beyond Countless Doorways as star systems (or Chrystal spheres, if the book supports them). Any chance the book will be out in time for Gen Con?

Dark Archive

Wow... I missed the boat on this one. I remember preview threads back in august but then lost track of this project.

So sad I missed the Kickstarter.

Scarab Sages

So, will we be seeing it soon? What's the latest word?

RPG Superstar 2012

This thread should help answer your questions.

Allen has been updating his progress fairly regularly to backers, and I believe he will be releasing this soon (I can't say *how* soon, but soon).

Greetings all,

It has been far too long since we have had a weekly update. I also want to note that this is the first publicly viewable update. This way, those who are interested in the project but were not a backer can keep an eye on how things are proceeding.

The text is almost finished. There are a few things that need to be wrapped up, but the book is pretty much written. Backers of Navigator and above will be hearing from me in the coming days to wrap up the final details on the design opportunities available to them. After that, the setting manuscript will be available for perusal to those backers who have access to it and I will be available for feedback. Of course, the editing process will also need to be completed before the text has reached a finished state.

Art is the big hurdle right now. Due to some challenges at home, the cover artist needed to step away. This is not a insurmountable problem and a new artist has agreed to do the work.

We are really far behind, but things continue to move forward. I apologize for the delays and I know it sometimes seems like things are moving at a snail's pace. But we are working towards completion and come closer every week.

In the coming weeks, you will start seeing a few new releases coming from CGP. These will be short books, each focusing on a new race for the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game. The key thing to note here is that backers will receive electronic versions of these books for free, but they will not count against their allotted total of free releases based on backing level.

If you have any questions, backers can still reach us via the project forums and non-backers should feel free to post on our Facebook page.

Thank you all and see you next week.

Thanks for the update. I definitely plan on purchasing this when it released.
