Jedi classes, Comments are useful


Conversions


Me and some friends want to do a Star Wars based campaign and I feel the Jedi knight should combine the monk and the Magus but my attempt failed sugestions are needeed.

Do you guys use the Pathfinder Psionic rules by DSP?
Some of the Soulknife or Psychic Warrior variants would work.

My suggestion? Find a copy of the old Star Wars Roleplaying Game by Wizards. I prefer Saga Edition, but the original is closer to Pathfinder in many ways. They are solid games, with lots of supplementary material.

Find the d20 Star Wars rules? Doing a basic Pathfinder conversion to accommodate the improved skill system, HD/BAB tying in, and combat maneuvers probably would be quite doable.

Really not trying to be snarky here, just saying if there's already a ruleset, may as well make use of it. I realize the d20 rules may be hard to find at this point, however.

It was not a bad game, despite some minor annoyances.


SW Saga edition is actually closer to Pathfinder than 3.5 was. Not at all hard to convert. I wouldn't try to fit in the classes, just allow a Jedi and so on as legit classes.

Black blade is almost a must if you want the lightsaber feel.

SAGA has a lot less broken mechanics. But it's difficult to find copies of the core rulebook, since it has been out of print ( especially of the errataed second printing ).
