Rules question regarding efficient quiver- it would appear, and has some support online, that storing wands in the arrow portion of the quiver would allow them to be drawn like an arrow (aka. Free action).

Any feedback on how this would be ruled at the table? Thanks.

If you search the forums, you will see that this has been a very highly debated topic. My suggestion: don't try it. It is already shady by the rules, and you will encounter great table variation. Some GMs may allow it, others will not. You will end up having to ask before every game if you are allowed to store anything besides arrows in that pocket. I have heard of dozens of different items trying to be put in the different pockets... But as a word of warning, I still recommend being conservative and sticking to what is explicitly listed that goes in those pockets.

I actually disagree with the interpretation you posted. For starters, arrows being drawn as a free action is part of the "attack" action, which you are not doing with wands. For seconds, I don't think wands are meant to be placed in that pocket.

Some PFS threads on it:

Hey Jo!

The first question is what do you mean by "'round here"? Because if you can make it to Asheville for our lodge days, then you should make a point to sign up and come on out!

If you're asking about Wilkes County, then that's probably more slim pickings. You can check on the Paizo boards for people, or there's also a few websites out there with postings for games/gamers (like Pen and Paper Games). You may have better luck in Boone or Winston Salem for games.

Good luck!

Carlos, be sure you and/or David give me a call as you get close to Hendersonville on your way up ... as an FYI, I am on call Saturday, so I may have to hop off to make some adjustments to the campaign we're running at work and to verify web broadcasts are actually occurring at the scheduled times.

Will do, Dain.

James, current schedule:
SAT 12pm-5pm: Part 3
SAT 5pm-7pm: Dinner break?
SAT 7pm-10pm: Part 4, Act 1
SUN 4 hour block: Part 4, Act 2-Finale

Sunday we just hope to need about a 4 hour block max, so we can wrap up as early as needed based on when we start.

Fun fact: Part 3 will be 150th table of credit :)

Have the submissions to the scenario request box been tabulated yet? I want to volunteer to run a Tier 7-11 on March 1, and I'm leaning heavily toward "The Refuge of Time," but I thought I'd check if there was something else people are clamoring for.

I found you...APL. Dropping in to say Hello! I hope that we can get together real soon. Chow!!!

Yes, I'm happy to report we've scheduled every suggestion that isn't on the roster for Mace West! We'll schedule the three scenarios that overlap with mace wests schedule as soon as that event is over.

You want refuge of time in the morning or evening slot?

You bet your box of chocolates there are!

So if you can brave the snows (and really, after the past few days, who doesn't have cabin fever?) come on out and join us all for a rousing round of roleplay! (Great Abadar's Vault, I sound like Paul with all this stupid alliteration).

FRIDAY FEBRUARY 14, 2014
5:30-9:30pm

Murder on the Throaty Mermaid- What could be more romantic that a moonlit cruise with your sweetheart? How about a healthy dose of murder and mystery? This season 2 classic for levels 1-5 deftly blends investigations with combat. Help to uncover a killer and clear the society's name before a sensitive diplomatic engagement. The best part is, the murderer changes EVERY time!

SATURDAY FEBRUARY 15, 2014
12:30-4:30pm

The Perils of Pirate Pact- When you want to hunt treasures for your sweety, who better than professional treasure hunters? Delve the spider-infested (hint hint) Echo Woods of the lawless River Kingdom for buried pirate treasure in this Season 0 scenario for levels 1-7.

Among the Dead- Okay, so this one is a tale about death, revenge, and ghastly ghouls. Not terribly romantic, I admit. But, really, all those things sound fun don't they? Take up the task of tracking down the villain responsible for the iconic massacre at the Taldane Opera from season 0's Among the Living in this season 1 scenario for levels 1-7.

The Frostfur Captives- Nothing says "I love you" quite like a gaggle of unruly Goblin prisoners. You Pathfinders must bring these adorable little murder-machines back to civilization. What could possibly go wrong? A delightful season 3 scenario for levels 1-5.

Echoes of the Overwatched- Love is decidedly NOT in the air as the Pathfinders are dispatched to discover what eldritch horror from beyond the stars has murdered one of their own. But maybe brains are... delicious, delicious brains. This enjoyably lethal scenario from season 3 is for levels 1-5.

Okay, enough mushy stuff. You guys couldn't even get the Blakros Matrimony on here? Feh! But we also have evening games.

5:30-9:30pm
Quest for Perfection, Part 1: The Edge of Heaven- Come relive the past few days of snowy misery as your merry band of Pathfinders trek up an icy mountain to an ancient monastery in search of powerful relics! Getting there is none of the fun in this season 3 scenario for level 1-5, which kicks off a much-loved arc that spanned all of season 3.

Rise of the Goblin Guild- Magnimar, the city of monuments, plays hosts to this whodunnit, which has the Pathfinders tracking a random monster sighting deep into the tunnels under the city, and face to face with a burgeoning thieves guild. Season 4 scenario for levels 1-5.

Words of the Ancients- At long last, the Pathfinders have discovered the means to wake a sleeping Runelord... wait, why do we want to do that again? Oh, that's right- because if we don't get it first, the mad Cult of Larissa will! This season 4 scenario for levels 7-11 challenges veteran pathfinders in a most dangerous race to a prize that no one in their right mind should want to claim.

Glories of the Past, Part 1: In the Halls of Dwarven Lore- Deep within the Sky-Citadel of Janderhoff, the Pathfinders have been contracted to excavate a large ruin system. What they may find there will burn their names into the Pathfinder Chronicles forever, and set them off on a journey spanning wild Varisia and beyond! A season 4 scenario for levels 5-9.

As always, check our Warhorn Page for more information. Happy Gaming!

Gonna beat StrangePackage to the draw this week ...

What's going on this weekend, you may be asking yourself. Or maybe not. Maybe you are one of the folks who has already signed up for a game or two on Warhorn for this weekend. If you have, good for you. If you have not, what the heck are you waiting for?

In order to entice you to sign up, here's what you could be missing if you do not sign up ...

Friday February 28, 2014
12:30pm-4:30pm
Shadow's Last Stand, Part 1: At Shadow's Door - This season two scenario for tier 1-7 has the PCs going all SWAT like. Well, maybe not to that extreme. But there are hostages involved, including a Venture Captain. This is the first of a two part story arc.

5:30pm-9:30pm
Tide of Twilight - This season three scenario is for tier 1-5. Druidic lorestones, beastmen and EVIL FREAKING DRUIDS, what more could you ask for? Be forewarned, this scenario was responsible for the first TPK I ever GMed in PFS.

The Veteran's Vault - This season four scenario is for tier 1-5. Help retrieve a special item from a secret stash for a retired Pathfinder. Simple, yes? No, not so much.

Saturday March 1, 2014
12:30pm-4:30pm
The Frozen Fingers of Midnight - This season zero scenario for tier 1-5 is actually quite the favorite around here it seems. I even burned a GM star to replay it recently. So there's an Ulfen warrior and he's cold. Like really cold. Cold enough to bother an Ulfen. Yeah, that cold. Can you find the means to bring a little warmth into his life?

King Xeros of Old Azlant - Another season zero scenario, though this time for tier 7-11. A crystal ship sails into Absalom harbor ... hmmm, did Jim Morrison foresee this scenario ... anyway, time to explore a ghost ship, Pathfinders.

The Citadel of Flame - This season one scenario for tier 1-5 has the PCs exploring a ruin in the deserts of Qadira. Ruins that belonged to a cult that preached self-sacrifice through self-immolation. You're not carrying anything flammable, are you?

Before the Dawn, Part 1: The Bloodcove Disguise - This season two scenario for tier 1-7 is the first in a two scenario story arc. Make contact and gather supplies in an Aspis Consortium controlled town to help rescue a Society archeological mission that is operating nearby. Can you succeed and rescue your fellow Pathfinders, or will your actions alert the Consortium and doom you all?

5:30pm-9:30pm
Perils of the Pirate Pact - This season zero scenario is for tier 1-7. The Society lends aid to a pirate ... in the River Kingdoms ... no no, nothing could possibly go wrong with this. Brigands and Pirates and Spiders, oh my!

The Jester's Fraud - This season one scenario is for tier 5-9. A quick trip to estimate the value of some minor papers of historical note leads to a little bit more than the Society counted on ... OK, a lot more.

The Refuge of Time - This season four scenario for tier 7-11 is a race for a dangerous artifact. Who are you racing? What is the artifact? What powers does it hold? What do you mean all of Varisia could be in jeopardy? Will there be pie? These questions and more will most likely be answered as the PCs make their way to the ... oh you almost got me to spill the beans! You won't get the answers that easily, but I will say there will be no pie.

The Night March of Kalkamedes - Another season four scenario, this time for tier 1-5. You are tasked with watching over Kalkamedes, a fellow Pathfinder and somnambulist extraordinaire ... that means an amazingly skilled sleep walker if you did not know ... but you probably did. Sounds simply enough, right? I mentioned he was a really good sleep walker, right? This scenario actually ranks in my personal top ten for both GMing and playing.

So, there you have it. That's what's going on. What are you waiting for? Go sign up!

Alas, my parents in town this weekend will mean that I'm not going to be able to get any games on.

Still, what's going on THIS weekend?

Sovereign Court

Gads yesterday was a busy one ...

This weekend you ask? Hmmm ...

Friday March 14 (yep, that's today!)
5:30pm-9:30pm
The Many Fortunes of Grandmaster Torch - Grandmaster Torch?!?! But I thought he ... ;) Head to Qadira, find four statues that could unleash a plague the city of Setrap and stop the folks who possess them. There is still 1 seat open for this one! Season 0 for tier 1-7.

Tide of Morning - So I have learned to be very careful in any scenario with the word tide in it. Find a missing lorestone and keep it from being used against the druids of Andoran. Seems simple, right? Remember what I said about tide scenarios? This scenario is currently full. Season 0 for tier 1-5.

Saturday March 15
12:30pm-4:30pm
Black Waters - A personal favorite of mine as a GM. A dungeon delve of a sorts with a slight twist. This one has sparked at least one memorable moment (and a near TPK). There is still 1 open seat for this one! Season 0 for tier 1-5.

Among the Dead - This is the follow up to Among the Living. You are sent on a revenge mission. Pure and simple. Well, pure revenge to be sure ... simple? Maybe not so much. Still 1 open seat!Season 1 for tier 1-7.

Rats of Round Mountain, Part 1: The Sundered Path - The Rats scenarios are notorious for PC deaths. Play carefully in these scenarios! Aspis agents in the Hao Jin tapestry trying to make an alliance with the Rats in the Round Mountain!?!? This will not do! Still 1 seat available! Season 3 for tier 7-11.

5:30pm-9:30pm
The Quest For Perfection, Part 2: On Hostile Waters - Part 2 of 3 in the Quest For Perfection series. River travel in Tian Xia in order to return a relic to the one person who can reactivate it. Goblinoids to the left of us, armies to the right ... not looking like it will be smooth sailing after all. This table is currently full. Season 3 for tier 1-5.

Rats of Round Mountain, Part 2: Pagoda of the Rat - The second half of the Rats scenarios. Aspis agents in the Hao Jin tapestry STILL trying to make an alliance with the Rats in the Round Mountain!?!? This will not do ... still not do! There is 1 seat available! Season 3 for tier 7-11.

The Sanos Abduction - It's fey. Need I say more? ;) Actually a rather enjoyable scenario to play. :) This table is currently full. Season 4 for tier 3-7.

The Confirmation - Season 5 tier 1-2 ... if you have a new PC, this is a great one to test it's survivability. ;) Still 5 seats open!

Be sure to sign up on Warhorn!

Hey, if we get one more for Rats of Round Mountain, we can play it in the 10-11 subtier! Also, remember that there's a special reward if you play both back-to-back on the same character (not even with a shopping trip back to Absalom in between). So be extra prepared!

Sovereign Court

So ... another question to ask is "What's going on next weekend?"

"But that's not an APL weekend!", you reply.

ahem ... you are correct sir!

Here's what we have going on this weekend:

FRIDAY MARCH 28, 2014
1230pm-430pm
Shades of Ice, Part I: Written in Blood - This season 2 scenario for tiers 1-5 has your PCs heading up the Land of the Linnorm Kings ... don't forget your booties because it's cold out there. (bonus points for naming the movie reference). This table is currently full.

530pm-930pm
The Darkest Vengence - This season 1 scenario for tiers 1-5 has the PCs going to Ustalav. Well, I will not give any spoilers, but this is probably one of the deadliest scenarios around, so just play smart and remember, death is only a condition to be cleared ... unless you are 1st or 2nd level ... in which case there is no shame in running away. ;) This table is currently full.

The Infernal Vault - Another season 1 scenario, this time for tiers 1-7 and has the PCs investigating a murder in Absalom. Did I mention the Cheliax tie in, both to the murder and the family vaults in Absalom? I didn't? Hmmm, well it is called the Infernal Vaults ... This table currently has 4 open seats.

Tide of Twilight - This season 3 scenario for tiers 1-5 is another one of those deadly scenarios ... I had my first TPK running this scenario and that result has occurred many times, once recently at the APL. Play smart, play safe and remember, death is only a condition to be cle ... I feel like I am repeating myself. This table currently has 1 open seat.

Soooo ... Friday evening looks pretty vicious with a high possibility for PC death. Play safe, Pathfinders, and you may yet live.

SATURDAY MARCH 29, 2014
1230pm-430pm
The Prince of Augustana - This season 0 scenario for tiers 1-5 has the PCs aiding the True Emperor of Andoran ... wait ... something sounds off with that ... maybe he's just a beggar ... whatever ... you are heading underground to get to the truth behind the old man's claims. This table is currently full.

Destiny of the Sand, Part III: Sanctum of the Sages - This new season 5 scenario is for tiers 3-7. The PCs set chase to a group of jewel thieves, but they find something more. This scenario is the third in the Destiny of Sands series and the scenarios are intended to be play in order. This table has 4 open seats currently.

530pm-930pm
Fortune's Blight - This season 1 scenario for tiers 5-9 sends the PCs to the River Kingdoms. I think the closing line in the summary says it best: "Madness, murder, and mayhem await you in the River Kingdoms!" This table currently has 4 open seats.

You Have What You Hold - This season 5 scenario for tiers 3-7 has the PCs dealing with river pirates who have been targeting Pathfinder ships heading to Mendev. This table is currently full

Weapon in the Rift - This season 5 scenario for tiers 5-9 has the PCs braving the Worldwound for a secret weapon designed and build during the First Mendevian Crusade. This scenario is tied in with the Silver Crusade faction story arc for Season 5. This table currently has 2 open seats.

And, if it is needed, I will be running an additional table. What will it be? Well we won't know unless we fill up the other tables first. ;)

So get on over to Warhorn and sign up!

Once you're logged into Warhorn, you should see Asheville PFS under 'Events you're attending' on the left. From here:

1.) Click on the name, then on 'Event schedule' in the upper-left.
b.) At this point, you should be looking at a calendar. Find the day you're wanting to play, and click on a game you want to join.
III.) Mash on that 'Play' button to the right of the scenario description to make sure you beat the throng.

As you may have seen on the Asheville Pathfinder Lodge Facebook group We in the Raleigh Region have at least 17 folks who will be renting a bus to watch movies/party/play scenarios on our way to Gen Con this year. If we choose to add an hour to our trip by swinging through Asheville, would any of you fine gamers be interested in hopping on? Price per person varies based on how many total passengers there are, but it will be approximately $250 total per person for the trip there and back. Reply on Facebook, email me, or Paizo PM me if interested. You folks have such a great thread here, I wouldn't want to litter it with bus trip replies.
thanks
